Bangladesh: Brutal Murder of Hindu Man by suspected Islamists in Noakhali’s Subarnachar Sparks Outrage among Minorities. 

Shrabanti Saha | HENB | Dhaka | Oct 14, 2025:: A gruesome daylight attack claimed the life of Subrata Chandra Das, a 42-year-old Hindu man, in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali, Bangladesh. The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 1:45 PM, leaving the local community in shock and demanding justice.

According to eyewitnesses and police reports, unidentified assailants intercepted Das while he was on his way to pick up his wife, Rikta Rani Das, who works as a field inspector at the Char Jabbar Union Health and Family Welfare Center. The attackers, allegedly riding a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, brutally hacked Das with sharp weapons and slit his throat before fleeing the scene. Villagers  say that local Islamists connected to many Jihadi gangs may have been involved in Das’ brutal murder, as the hacking was similar to the ISIS style of beheading.

The victim’s father, Chiru Ranjan Das, expressed his anguish and demanded justice, stating, “My son was a very calm and quiet person. As far as I know, he had no enemies. I want justice for his murder.”

The police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident, with Officer-in-Charge Md. Shaheen Mia confirming that a case has been filed and a probe is underway. The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has also visited the scene to gather evidence.
