Delhi’s Red Fort Blast Leaves 9 Dead, Many Injured; Investigation Underway. Jihadi Terror Link Being Probed.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | Nov 10, 2025:: A powerful explosion rocked the national capital Delhi on Monday evening, leaving at least 9 people dead and 24 others injured. The blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car near the Red Fort Metro Station at around 6:52 PM.

According to Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, the blast took place in a slow-moving vehicle that came to a halt at the Red Fort traffic signal. “There were occupants in the car, and the blast damaged cars nearby,” Golcha told reporters.

The area was swarming with a huge crowd of people when the blast occurred, causing widespread panic. Twenty fire engines were rushed to the spot, and police cordoned off the area. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) and the anti-terror squad, along with the Delhi Police Special Cell, are on the scene to assess the situation.

Possible Terror Link Being Investigated

The blast comes hours after Jammu and Kashmir Police, in a joint operation with Haryana Police, recovered nearly 3,000 kg of explosives from two residential buildings in Faridabad, Haryana. The materials seized included 350kg of ammonium nitrate, a commonly-used fertilizer that can be turned into a deadly bomb.

The explosives were recovered based on intel from arrested J&K-based doctor Adil Rather. A large cache of explosives was seized from an apartment in Faridabad, including 360 kg of ammonium nitrate and 2,500 kg of explosive-making chemical. Arms and ammunition, including an assault rifle and pistol, were also recovered.

Arrests Made in Connection with Explosives Haul

Several medical professionals from Al-Falah University and Hospital in Faridabad were arrested in connection with the explosives haul. Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a faculty member, was nabbed from his rented premises where the chemicals were stashed. Another doctor, Adeel Ahmad Rather, was detained for allegedly putting up posters in support of the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar.

A female doctor, Shaheen Shahid, was questioned after an assault rifle was found in her car, used by Shakeel. An imam named Ishtiyaq, in contact with Shakeel, was also arrested.

According to the report, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel and Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, the two arrested doctors, had prior charges related to mounting JeM posters in Srinagar. Specifically, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel had faced prior charges related to JeM posters in Srinagar, while Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather was detained for allegedly putting up posters in support of the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar.

The Delhi car blast near Red Fort Metro Station is being probed, with investigators exploring all angles, including a possible terror link to the explosives haul and the arrested medical professionals. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is closely monitoring the situation.

Concerns of PM and HM

The victims of the Delhi Red Fort blast were rushed to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited to take stock of their condition. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities. Reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah and other officials.
