B Upendran | HENB | Karimnagar | Nov 20, 2025:: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, has reiterated that Hindutva is the key to the BJP’s success in Telangana. Speaking at a high-level BJP workers’ meeting in Huzurabad, Sanjay emphasized that the party’s rise in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections and its victory in the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat are proof that Hindutva can galvanize support.

Urban Naxals: A Threat to Society

Sanjay also launched a scathing attack on “urban Naxals,” accusing them of manipulating innocent Dalits and tribals into joining Naxalite groups, leading to their deaths in forests. He questioned why these individuals continue to hold positions of power in Telangana despite claiming to fight against anti-people policies.

Congress Government’s Failure

Sanjay slammed the Congress government for failing to implement its promises and guarantees, including financial aid to farmers, unemployment allowance, and housing schemes. He dismissed the government’s upcoming “Telangana Rising Festival” as a “Downfall Festival” and alleged that the government lacks sincerity in conducting panchayat elections.

Kashaya Samar Bheri Campaign

To highlight the failures of the Congress government and the previous BRS government, Sanjay announced the launch of the Kashaya Samar Bheri campaign. The campaign will include a signature collection drive and distribution of pamphlets listing the government’s failures, starting on November 26 across the Karimnagar Parliamentary Constituency.

Muslim Vote Bank Criticism

Sanjay also criticized the Muslim community for uniting in mosques to vote against the BJP, despite the Narendra Modi government extending welfare schemes to all communities. He questioned why an “80% Hindu vote bank” is criticized when a “12% Muslim vote bank” is accepted, citing incidents of attacks on Hindus and temples in the state and elsewhere.

Internal Dissent: Raja Singh’s Sidelining

However, Bandi Sanjay’s advocacy for Hindutva politics in Telangana has raised eyebrows, given the party’s treatment of hard-core Hindutva activist Thakur Raja Singh. The Ghoshamahal MLA has been a vocal proponent of Hindutva and has won his seat thrice on a BJP ticket. Despite this, Singh was sidelined by the party, sparking criticism from Hindutva activists who accuse the BJP of hypocrisy. Many believe that the BJP’s Hindutva agenda will ring hollow as long as leaders like Raja Singh are kept out of the party’s inner circle.

Critics argue that Sanjay’s claims of promoting Hindutva politics will be difficult to materialize without including leaders like Raja Singh, who have a strong Hindutva base. The controversy has led to questions about the BJP’s commitment to Hindutva ideology and whether it’s just a political rhetoric.

With these developments, the BJP is gearing up for the upcoming local body elections in Telangana, with Hindutva at the forefront of its agenda. However, internal dissent and criticism from Hindutva activists may pose a challenge to the party’s efforts to consolidate Hindu votes.
