‘Hindutva is Soul of Bharat’, and ‘Enact Strict Anti-Conversion Laws’: Dattatreya Hosabale.

RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale Reiterates Hindutva as Soul of Bharat, Advocates Strict Anti-Conversion Laws.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Indore | Dec 1, 2025:: In a significant statement, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has underscored the importance of Hindutva, describing it as the “soul of Bharat.” Speaking at the ‘Pramukh Jan Goshthi’ event in Indore on Sunday, Hosabale emphasized the need for strict enforcement of anti-conversion laws, citing public awareness, social harmony, and stringent legal measures as key to checking religious conversions.

Hosabale’s remarks come against the backdrop of the RSS’s centenary outreach, which aims to strengthen the organization’s presence and ideology across the country. At the event, representatives from various sections of society were present, reflecting the RSS’s efforts to engage with diverse groups.

Hindutva: A Way of Life

Elaborating on the concept of Hindutva, Hosabale said, “God can be attained through this path or that path is the Hindu thought.” He emphasized that Hindu culture, despite its diverse expressions, has a unified core, and that the society living on this land makes it a Hindu nation.

Checking Religious Conversions

Addressing concerns about religious conversions, Hosabale advocated for a multi-pronged approach, including “dharm jagaran,” service works, social harmony, visits by saints, and strict enforcement of laws. He stressed that the concept of dharma in Indian culture goes beyond the English term “religion” and needs to be understood in a broader sense.

Using the analogy of traffic rules, Hosabale said, “Religion can be changed, but dharma cannot. If the intentions behind changing religion are wrong, then there is a need to be cautious and stop such acts.”

Conveying Hindutva to the Younger Generation

Hosabale expressed concern that some people have become hesitant to identify themselves as Hindu due to misconceptions about secularism. He emphasized the need to convey the core ideas of Hindutva to the younger generation, ensuring that they understand and appreciate their cultural heritage.

The RSS General Secretary also recalled the organization’s struggles during the 1975 Emergency and the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, highlighting the sacrifices made by RSS volunteers. He noted that the organization has carried out over 100,000 service activities in the past century, with support from society.

As the RSS continues its outreach efforts, Hosabale’s statement is likely to spark a renewed debate on the role of Hindutva in Indian society and politics.
