Priya Dutt | HENB | New Delhi | Dec 6, 2025:: A 27-year-old Hindu cab driver, Kuldeep, also known as Ram Singh, hailed from Village Joriam, District Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, was brutally stabbed to death under the Barapullah flyover near Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in the early hours of Wednesday. The accused, comprising four individuals, including three minors, allegedly attacked Singh after he refused to take them on a late-night joyride to India Gate. Prime accused Mohammad Imran was arrested by police.
The Incident
According to the police, the group, who were celebrating Mohammad Imran’s birthday, had been drinking and decided to head to India Gate. They spotted Singh’s parked cab near a public toilet in Bhogal and began banging on it. Singh, who had stepped into the bushes to urinate, shouted at them to stop hitting his vehicle. An argument ensued when the group demanded that he drive them to India Gate, and Singh refused.
The confrontation escalated, and the group stabbed Singh multiple times before fleeing with his car. They allegedly roamed around for several hours before dumping the vehicle in Jangpura. Singh’s body was found nearly five hours later by a passerby, who alerted the police control room.
Investigation and Arrests
The police registered a case of murder at Hazrat Nizamuddin police station and formed multiple teams to investigate the crime. Over 500 CCTV cameras in and around the area were examined, and footage showed Singh near the public toilet in Bhogal shortly before the crime, with the four accused individuals seen nearby.
The police identified the suspects and arrested Mohammad Imran alias Panwadi, a adult (19), son of Mohd Ismail, and apprehended three minors aged 16 to 17. The accused led the police to the spot where they abandoned the stolen cab, and the knife used in the crime was also recovered.
Charges and Further Investigation
All four accused have been booked for murder and vehicle theft. The police said further investigation is underway to unravel the circumstances surrounding the crime. The case highlights the need for stricter law enforcement and measures to prevent such heinous crimes in the future.
The police are working to ensure justice is served, and the victim’s family receives the support they need during this difficult time. As the investigation continues, the people of Delhi hope for a safer and more secure future.
