Addressing the gathering, the Kalki Peeth pontiff Acharya Pramod Krishnam asserted that India’s historical subjugation was not due to the strength of foreign powers but because of “traitors within the country.” He said that those who oppose Hindutva today are themselves part of Hindu society and cannot separate themselves from its cultural roots.
Launching a direct attack on leaders and parties that, according to him, are attempting to weaken Hindutva, Acharya stated, “Those who try to erase Hindutva will themselves be erased.” Without naming individuals directly, he referred to a senior leader of the Samajwadi Party and criticized the political narrative that seeks to draw a distinction between Hinduism and Hindutva, calling it an effort to weaken the nation. He also mentioned developments in Maharashtra politics and appealed to minority communities not to support parties that use religion merely as an electoral tool.
“India Witnessing Awakening of Sanatan Dharma”
Acharya Pramod Krishnam claimed that India is currently passing through a phase of resurgence and awakening of Sanatan Dharma and Hindutva. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he said India is steadily moving towards becoming a global superpower and is gaining unprecedented respect internationally. He pointed to countries such as the United States, Russia, Iran, and Israel as examples of nations that appear to be standing with India on global platforms.
He further alleged that certain “anti-national elements” within the country are engaging in divisive politics aimed at breaking India for the sake of power. According to him, these forces are targeting India’s culture, civilization, and Sanatan Dharma.
Concerns Over Atrocities Against Hindus in Bangladesh
Raising the issue of alleged atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, Acharya termed the situation “extremely serious.” He said the Indian government should take concrete decisions at the right time, while also noting that any immediate aggressive action may not be practical. Expressing confidence in Prime Minister Modi, he said the government would take appropriate steps when required, similar to past actions taken against Pakistan.
He questioned the current political situation in Bangladesh, alleging that democracy has weakened there and that the growing influence of fundamentalist forces has resulted in the targeting of the Hindu community.
Sharp Criticism of Congress and Opposition Leaders
During interactions with the media, Acharya Pramod Krishnam also made critical remarks about Congress leaders Mani Shankar Aiyar and Rahul Gandhi. Responding to questions about Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Ayodhya, he said that visiting a religious place is less important than having true devotion to Lord Rama. He accused the Congress of earlier opposing decisions related to the Ram Temple and now changing its stance for political convenience.
He also strongly criticized Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. On the issue of religious conversion, Acharya alleged that conversions are being carried out for selfish motives and said such acts are illegal. He praised the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government for taking strict action against unlawful religious conversions.
Remarks on Sambhal and Administrative Action
Referring to Sambhal, Acharya Pramod Krishnam stated that land mentioned in religious texts would play a decisive role in shaping India’s future. He defended ongoing administrative actions in the region, asserting that action is being taken only against those found guilty and that no innocent person has been targeted.
Human Rights Issue Beyond Borders
Concluding his address, Acharya once again highlighted the alleged atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, stating that the issue goes beyond national boundaries and should be seen as a global human rights concern. His remarks, marked by aggressive rhetoric and ideological assertions, are expected to further intensify political debate in the coming days.
