Upendra Bharti | HENB | Bhopal | April 4, 2026::A video from a Hanuman Jayanti procession in Bhopal has triggered sharp reactions after a Hindutva activist was heard making a controversial statement directed at a local slaughterhouse owner during a public address.
The video, which surfaced on social media on Friday, shows Bhanu Hindu addressing a large gathering of devotees participating in the धार्मिक procession. In the clip, he is heard saying, “Teri chamdi kitni bhi moti ho gayi ho, hum patla kar denge” (No matter how thick your skin has become, we will make it thin), a remark reportedly aimed at Aslam Chamda.
The procession was organised to mark Hanuman Jayanti and witnessed significant participation from local residents. Devotees were seen chanting religious slogans such as “Jai Bajrangbali” while carrying saffron flags as the rally moved through multiple areas of the city.
According to organisers, the yatra began in the Talaiya locality and passed through adjoining areas before proceeding towards Sindhi Colony. A stage was set up during the event where Bhanu Hindu delivered his speech, portions of which were later widely circulated online.
The comments made during the speech were reportedly directed at Aslam Chamda, who is known locally for operating a slaughterhouse. Some groups in the past have accused him of involvement in alleged beef trade activities, although no official confirmation of such allegations has been established by authorities.
Bhanu Hindu, whose real name is Shubham Arya, is a Bhopal-based Hindutva activist and the president of the Jai Maa Bhavani Hindu Organisation. He has been associated with campaigns against cow slaughter and has organised several Hindu unity events in the region.
He also contested the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections from the Bhopal Uttar constituency as an independent candidate.
Aslam Chamda is known in Bhopal as a slaughterhouse operator and has previously been at the centre of local controversies, largely stemming from allegations made by certain groups regarding involvement in beef trade.
Aslam Qureshi, popularly known as Aslam Chamda, is a Bhopal-based slaughterhouse operator who came under intense scrutiny in January 2026 after authorities recovered around 26 tonnes of suspected beef. Police alleged that nearly 260 cows had been slaughtered at a government-operated facility in the Jahangirabad area, leading to his arrest.
Although he secured bail in March 2026, he was re-arrested within 24 hours and booked under the National Security Act, citing the seriousness of the allegations. Chamda, who has reportedly been associated with the slaughterhouse business for nearly two decades and was earlier involved in the animal hide trade, has since remained at the centre of multiple investigations.
The case triggered widespread protests by organisations such as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal, which accused him of large-scale cow slaughter and demanded stringent action. Authorities are also probing his alleged network, reported ownership of over 35 properties, and the manner in which he secured and maintained government contracts.
Additionally, there have been allegations regarding the employment of illegal immigrants in his operations—claims that he has previously been cleared of—though the matter continues to draw scrutiny as investigations progress.
Bhopal’s Hanuman Jayanti procession resonates with strong opposition to alleged illegal activities and suspected beef smuggling linked to the slaughterhouse of Aslam Chamda.
The video clip from the procession has since gone viral, drawing attention on social media platforms and sparking debate over the tone and content of speeches made during public religious events.
As of now, there has been no official statement from local authorities regarding the incident or whether any legal action will be initiated.
