HENB | New Delhi | 4 Nov 2014:: At last Hindus of Bawana are not ready to tolerate vulgar bloodshed in the street, instilling terror to others by  brandishing swords, show of Muslim muscle power and hooliganism and violation all rules of the civil society in the name of  Taziya, Yaum e Ashura and Muharram through Hindu areas.  Around a thousand people assembled at Outer Delhi’s Bawana area to attend a ‘Mahapanchayat’, organised to oppose the Muharram procession, even as locals claimed that the route was already changed to avoid any tension between Hindus and Muslims.

Bawana locality is on low boil a day before taziya procession on the occasion of Yaum-e-Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram falls on 4th Nov this year.

Led by local BJP MLA Gugan Singh and Congress councillor Devender Kumar alias Poni, around 700 villagers of Bawana on Sunday (2 Nov 2014)  convened and attended a Mahapanchayat, to protest against the traditional route of the taziya procession in the area.

Save own community sloganeering, charged speeches and religious symbolism marked the day-long event. Speakers repeatedly and aggressively cautioned the ‘other community’ of dire consequences in case of ‘unruly behaviour’.

Earlier,  Muslim community on October 24 had come to a consensus on not taking the procession through the usual 2 km route, which passes through Hindu-dominated areas, fearing a communal backlash.

The route in dispute is through Bawana market, which is 2-3 km away from JJ colony, a resettlement colony established in 2004. This market is dominated by well-off Hindus, mostly Jats, was a tradition route of the procession. The aggressive words came despite the fact that despite the fact that on police intervention, organisers of the procession had already agreed to change the route, keeping it confined to the outskirts of the Bawana JJ Colony.

“We will not allow the taziya procession to pass through our area and it has already been brought in the notice of the administration. If it still takes place, violence will ensue and the police will be held responsible for the disturbances as we have given it to them in writing,” BJP legislature Singh told one media over phone.

Asked why he has a problem with the taziya route, he said, “They (Muslims) use this occasion as show of strength. They wield sword and play with fire and raise slogans, which disturb us. They do not have any right to disturb us. We do not have any objection if they do this hooliganism in their own area, but we want tolerate it in our locality.”

“Hindus of the locality also raised the objection that they are forced by the administration and police to stop or suppress their own Hindu rituals time and again during the Muslim festivals and procession etc. On the other hand, Hindus are not allowed to pass their festivals or processions through Muslim locality and particulary by a way in front of a Mosque”.

This is not the first time that such a procession is taking place. Why then didn’t he raise objection earlier? To this he said, “We have always opposed it but the previous government never paid heed to our complaints.”

Congress councillor Devender Kumar aka Poni refused to make any comment when asked why he took part in the gathering and spit venom instead of reaching out to members of both communities for confidence building.

Ultimately, the Taziya procession of Bawana areas took the new route avoiding the Hindu areas under the massive pressure of Hindu Unity cutting the edge of politics or any other factors.

The Hindu unity of Bawana set an unique example to tame the Islamic demon against peace and prosperity to the Hindu majority in India.

Under a wrong policy of Muslim appeasement in India, the Muslims here enjoys full protection of their festivals though violates Indian Constitution and Penal Codes in many ways.

The Editor of Hindu Existence, Sri Upananda Brahmachari recently wrote the eminent lawyers to think over the issue to stop public nuisance and communal tension in the occasion of Muharram.

Plz send me the violations details in various law provisions in IPC and other Acts in the case of Muharram procession. Your point wise reply will help us immensely to check Muharram in coming years.

1. Carrying lethal arms like swords (what is the measurements may be carried within rules), chains, hammers etc.
2. Making bleeding on body and horrible situations openly.
3. Forced participation of children below 12-14 years in such bloody and horrible procession.
4. Running such procession through congested market places, even through public places like Howrah and Sealdah Platforms in Kolkata, Nijamuddin Rly Station in Delhi and Masjid Rly Station in Mumbai and in so many places in pick hours.
5. Taking no prior permission from the authority for conducting such procession.
6. Deliberate obstructions in National Highway, State Highway and other important roads for Muharram Processions.

This is urgent.
