Taj Mahal part of ancient Hindu temple, claims UP BJP chief

Taj Mahal part of ancient temple: BJP’s rebuttal against Azam Khan’s plea on Taj handover to Waqf.

LK BajpaiPTI  Bahraich, December 08, 2014:: BAHRAICH: After Azam Khan’s demand of handing over the Taj Mahal to UP waqf board, the state’s BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai on Sunday sought to drag the famed mausoleum into another row by claiming that it was a part of an ancient temple.

Bajpai told reporters that Mughal emperor Shah Jahan “purchased a part of Tejo Mahalaya temple’s land from Raja Jai Singh” and claimed that documents to prove it still exist.

He also alleged that “Azam Khan has usurped property of waqf and was now eyeing the world heritage Taj Mahal.”

“Azam’s dream to offer namaz five times at Taj will never be fulfilled,” he said.

On November 13, Khan had said that the Taj Mahal, one of the wonders of the world, should be declared a property of the state’s waqf board.

History_Engineering_the_Taj_Mahal_42712_reSF_HD_still_624x352Khan, during a convention of ‘mutawallis’ (caretakers) asked chairman of State Sunni Central Waqf Board to make Taj Mahal a property of the board and appoint him as ‘mutwalli’.

Though, later, when reporters asked Azam about his controversial statement, he said,”why you take things said in a lighter vein so seriously.”

However, spokesman of All India Shia Personal Law Board, Maulana Yasoob Abbas, has told PTI, “As far as Mumtaz Mahal is concerned, she was a Shia, but Taj Mahal is heritage of the country and it should not be handed over to Sunni or Shia boards.”

“Shia and Sunni boards are unable to maintain their mosques and madrasas then how will they handle Taj Mahal. If the issue of handing Taj Mahal to the waqf board is raised then Shia and Sunni will come face to face, therefore it should be kept away from the tussle,” he added.

Taj Mahal ? How, When and Whom?

Taj Mahal was a pre- existing structure before but it was said to be built by Shah Jahan. We have all heard how the Taj Mahal, which is considered one of the great wonders of the world, was built as the preeminent expression of a man’s love for a wife. That it was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in commemoration of his wife Mumtaz. But the truth is that the Taj Mahal was never built by Shah Jahan. Some say the Taj Mahal pre-dates Shah Jahan by several centuries and was originally built as a Hindu or Vedic temple/palace complex-known as-‘Tejomahalaya’ (powerfull Siva), the Hindu King Jai Singh. This is not unlike the many other buildings that were acquired by the Muslim invaders to be used for their own purposes. The point to consider is how much more of India’s history has been distorted if the background of such a grand building is so inaccurate. The evidence that shows the Taj Mahal and many other buildings may not have been of Muslim origin.

‘The architecture is definitely of Hindu orientation and could very well have been designed as a Shiva temple; the issue of the arch and the dome; how the invader Timurlung (1398) took back thousands of prisoner craftsmen to build his capital at Samarkhand and where the dome could have been incorporated into Islamic architecture; how it was not Shah Jahan’s religious tolerance that could have been a reason for Hindu elements in the design of the Taj.’- Stephen Knapp, I think- the automatic falling the droops of water managed for the Lord Shiva who converted after for the queen Shah Jahan’s body.

Similarly, the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb (1658-1707) topped the list. One of the main objectives of Aurangzeb’s policy was to demolish Hindu temples. This was followed by Aurangzeb’s order to demolish the highly venerated temple of Vishwanath at Banaras (Jan.-Feb. 1670) Aurangzeb’s zeal for temple destruction became much more intense during war conditions. The opportunity to earn religious merit by demolishing hundreds of temples soon came to him in 1679. In June 1681, orders, in a laconic two-liner, were given for the demolition of the highly venerated Jagannath Temple in Orissa (Exhibit No. 24, Akhbarat, 1st June 1681).

Shortly afterwards, in September 1682, the famous Bindu-Madhav temple in Banaras was also demolished as per the Emperor’s orders (Exhibit No. 27, Akhbarat, Julus 26, Ramzan 20). On 1st September 1681, while proceeding to the Deccan, where his rebel son Prince Akbar, escorted by Durga Das Rathore, had joined Chhatrapati Shivaji’s son, Shambhaji, thus creating a serious problem for him, Aurangzeb ordered that all the temples on the way should be destroyed. The number of such ruthless acts of Aurangzeb makes a long list but here only a few have been mentioned. In obedience to the Quranic injunction, he re-imposed Jizyah on the Hindus on 2nd April 1679 (Exhibit No. 16), which had been abolished by Emperor Akbar in 1564, causing widespread anger and resentment among the Hindus of the country. A massive peaceful demonstration against this tax in Delhi, was ruthlessly crushed. His death after a long and ruinous reign lasting half a century ended an eventful epoch in the history of India. He left behind a crumbling empire, a corrupt and inefficient administration, a demoralized army, a discredited government facing public bankruptcy and alienated subjects.

The number of temples destroyed under his orders is counted in four figures. Aurangzeb ordered all temples destroyed such as the Kashi Vishvanath that was one of the most sacred temples and a center of Hindu learning who had built by the first Lichavi King- Bikramaditya. The Mughal Emperor had mosques built on a number of cleared temples sites. All other Hindu sacred places within his reach also suffered destruction and mosques were built upon them.

Then, Pratap Malla (Malla king of Nepal) built a temple of lord Shiv at Rani Pokhari- Kathmandu and wrote a lyric that Vishvanath is in here.’- (Chand Kumar Sharma). So, we request to all Hindu nationalists in the world including Nepalese and Indian people and party leaders not to minimize the reality of Hinduism and Buddhism, the basis of world civilization. We should be conscious to save the sovereign-identity of Hinduism. Nepal is the ancient Sovereign original Hindu Kingdom under the protection of Hindu Crown (monarchy). So, to intact the identity of Hinduism in Nepal, India and all over the world, Nepal must be in existence as it is as a Hindu Kingdom with monarchy
    Thank you!

what would have reaction of muslims if they come to know that any of their mosque was converted into a temple. many jehadis would go there and do their jehad.

so we hindus should fight for our religion i.e dharm yudha. no govt can give us all our holy places back. we have to take these back by paying in our blood.
