Khagragarg blast trail: ‘Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh training in Bengal mosques and Madrasas’, says nabbed JMB operative.

Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | Guwahati | March 29, 2016:: Rapid interrogation of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) activist Asad Ali alias Asadullah by the Assam police revealed that several members of JMB from the state of Assam had undergone arms and explosive training in mosques and Madrassas in West Bengal.

Asadullah, a close aide of Burdwan (Khagragarh) blast accused Sahanur Alam, was arrested a few days ago in Karimganj and handed over to the special operation unit (SOU) of the special branch (SB) of Assam police. He is being sent into a 10-day-long police custody.

Asadullah was arrested when he was trying to sneak into the state from Bangladesh at Sutarkandi in Karimganj district. “He is one of the six JMB members who had undergone proper military training in the Jehadi field of West Bengal. He was trained in Bolpur Masjid in Birbhum and several other madrassas,” sources said.

Asadullah fled to Bangladesh following Sahanur’s arrest in November 2014 and had been in hiding in the neighbouring country since then. He decided to return after forces in Bangladesh launched a crackdown on militants. Ali, hailing from Kaplabari village in Mukalmua in Nalbari district, is known as Moinul Islam and Ismail Hussain within JMB. Sources said several JMB members are still at large...
