Stop killing of Hindus-Buddhists-Christians and others in Bangladesh by Islamic Radicals.

Kolkata Concerns over Killings of Bangladesh Religious Minorities. WB BJP appeals for the protection of vulnerable BD Minorities through Bengal Governor.

Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | Kolkata | July 5, 2016:: After leading a huge rally in protest of Jihadi killing of Bangladeshi religious minorities and giving a deputation to the Bangladesh High Commission in Kolkata on July 1st, a high delegation of WB State BJP today met Bengal Governor Shri Keshri Nath Tripathi with an appeal for the protection of vulnerable Minorities under the severe attacks by Radical Muslims there.

In today’s delegation Dr. Mohit Roy (Convener, WB BJP Refugee Cell), Advocate Ratneshwar Sarkar (Expert on Indo-Bangla Refugee affairs), Subrato Chaterjee (General Secretary -Org.), Locket Chaterjee (Secretary, WB BJP), Advocate Santanu Sinha (State Committee Member, WB BJP)  and Prokash Ch Das (Expert on Bangladesh Minority Affairs) discussed on the related Jihadi upsurge in ‘Islamic’ Bangladesh and the necessary initiatives to protect the religious minorities in Bangladesh in details over hours.

In the appeal it is said, ” The entire humanity is now extremely perturbed after the ghastly murder of 20 innocent foreigners in a Dhaka Restaurant in Bangladesh on 2 July 2016. It was carried out by Islamic terrorists who murdered all who could not recite the verses of Koran. However, we in West Bengal are expressly worried as we share a common border, common lingua franca and common presence of Islamic fundamentalists with Bangladesh. We therefore humbly appeal to you safeguard the state of West Bengal and also enquire the past events linked to various jehadi issues in West Bengal.

It needs to be understood that Islamic terrorists do not act in a void, they act when there is significant support base in the society. The Dhaka siege was not an isolated incident. Before that the minority Hindus-Buddhists- Christians have been facing immense atrocities in Bangladesh for several decades.”

Not only that, the delegates expressed their Bengal concern by pointing out, “Now we see similar incidents are happening in West Bengal too though the Hindus are still a majority here. We find that the Government of West Bengal and the ruling party Trinamul Congress have taken up colluding with the communal activities by these Islamic groups. Very recently the daily chanting of Bhajan in the temple of Mandirbazar, South 24 Paraganas has been stopped by the local police during the month of Ramadan as the unruly Muslim mob created trouble. We have seen similar actions by the State in case of attacks on the temple at Mayureswar and other places. We have seen how arms factory like Khagragarh are being set up in West Bengal by Islamic militants. So we apprehend that the Islamic militants are also being provided a support base in West Bengal. So we appeal to you for following actions to safeguard the people of West Bengal.”

Earlier on 1st July, asking Bangladesh government to ensure security of minorities in the country, BJP  threatened to stop the Dhaka-Kolkata train and hold dharna in front of Benapole-Petrapole border gate if the killing of Hindus did not stop there. “Hindus and other minorities are killed in Bangladesh regularly.  “In Bengal, you will see rallies organised by Communists on various global issues. But its an irony that when Hindus in Bangladesh are being attacked, we are witnessing a stoic silence from both Communists and ruling TMC here,” Shri Dilip Ghosh, State BHP President and MLA of Kharagpur addressed a rally on that day.

Within the last couple of days, some other Hindu organisations like Bangladesh Udbastu Unnayan Sansad, Hindu Samhati and Hindu Jagaran Manch also came to the streets of Kolkata expressing their demands to protect Hindu and other minorities in Bangladesh from the Islamic onslaught there.
