Bengal on Communal boil. Now Chanchal under Jihadi attack on rumour.

Chanchal Police station attacked by TMC Jihadis; Hindu houses attacked, shops damaged in Malda District. Islamic hooliganism started on a rumor of ‘mosque attack’. 

Subham Pal Choudhury | HENB | Malda | Oct 16, 2016:: A weapon wielding Muslim mob gheraoed and attacked Chanchal police station; attacked Hindu houses  and damaged their shops  and vehicles rampantly after a rumour deliberately spread from a Mosque. And the allah and Quran follower people blessed by TMC (Total Muslim Congress) started vandalizing Hindu areas at Chanchal in Malda district, 65 km from here.

The trouble started on Saturday when it was announced over loudspeakers at Chanchal and adjoining Kaligram villages that a place of worship (for Allah) was damaged at Chanchal, DIG, Malda Range, JK Pal who is camping in the area said on Sunday.

Pal described the announcement as a “rumour” which led to agitated people assembling at Chanchal, who all later, damaged shops and vehicles.

Police said 16 people have been arrested in this connection so far.

As Many 20 Hindus were injured by the Jihadi attacks and Hindu women were molested as reported. Some Hindu worship places were also desecrated after setting a ‘Rumour Jihad’.

Muslims again assembled on Sunday at Chanchal in front of the police station and gheraoed it. They started pelting stones forcing police to resort to baton charge to disperse the mob, the DIG said.

Police patrolling was continuing and the situation was now stated to be under control, he added.

Fresh attacks were reported on Hindus at Motiharpur Uttarpara under Chanchal PS after Sunday evening. Calls made to local PS & emergency helpline number were unanswered.

The Law and order situations in Malda and in various districts are quite vulnerable as the state has failed to protect Hindu safety security  in more than a dozen of places where Muslims attacked Hindus during Durga Puja-Muharram coincided and communal clashes broke out.
