Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | Aug 9, 2017:: Huge gathering questioned Pseudo-secular’s conspicuous silence on Rajesh’s murder, condemning it and asking for justice. Thousands of the members of the civil society gathered at Jantar-Mantar on August 9, 2017 to raise a voice against the atrocious murder of Rajesh Edavakode, A Dalit RSS worker in Kerala. The independent academicians, intellectuals,  artists and other people from all walks of life attended the demonstration. The recent killing of Rajesh, Basti Karyavah of RSS in Thiruvananthapuram, in a brutal manner is an example of the restive and oppressive policies pursued by the Kerala Govt. under a dictatorial control of CPIM. The CPIM goons put life and property of the political activists of other groups in an extreme vulnerable position. Hundreds of RSS-BJP and Non-CPIM workers have been killed in Kerala in last fifteen years or so in a revengeful politics of the Communist thugs.

The academicians from the University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Indira Gandhi National Open University attended the demonstration in large numbers, reflecting the anger and agony of the civil society. The state govt. of Kerala has failed in its constitutional and moral obligations of protecting its own people.

It has been observed that in the last 13 month of LDF rule in Kerala, 14 political murders have taken place. Four of the killed belonged to the Dalit community. All those people who were killed subscribed to a particular ideology i.e. the ideology of nationalism. The growing ‘Left intolerance’ is a matter of serious concern. Kerala is emerging as a battleground of ideologies and political murders rather than a state abiding by the spirit of the Constitution of India. A select group of self proclaimed liberals and intellectuals who apparently have stood against Dalit killings in other states are conspicuously silent and absent on the issue of the murder of Rajesh. The demonstration in Jantar Mantar boldly asks, #WhereAreYou #AwardWapsis #NotInMyName ?

“Save Kerala and save India. Killings of the nationalists and opposite political faiths will not serve any purpose but only disturb the entire social fabric of India. Peace and security is the need of the hour in Kerala. Different political ideologies must be given space to survive in the society”, was raised as a majority voice in the demonstration.

The protest march was attended by many dignitaries such as Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Indian Classical Dancer; Sudipto Sen, Film Maker; Arvind Srivastava, Lawyer; Prof. Kapil Kumar, IGNOU; Dr. Inder Mohan Kapahy, UGC; Dr. S. Oberoi, ex-DUTA president; Rajiv Nayan, IDSA; Ashwini Mahajan, Swadeshi Jagran Manch; Vinay Saharabhudhe, Leader BJP; Dr. N.K. Kakkad, MAIMS;  Prof. Kuldeep Agnihotri, Himachal University VC; Prof. Girish Chandra Tripathi, VC BHU; Prof. PC Jha, Department of Operational Research – University of Delhi;  Dr. Ajay Bhagi, NDTF President; Dr. V.S. Negi, Secretary, NDTF; Sushil Pandit, renowned Kashmiri Rights Activist  and many more were present in the protest march. Prof. Rakesh Sinha of DU and Honorary Director, of India Policy Foundation+ and an RSS ideologue was the convenor of the programme.
