Upendra Bharti | HENB | Raiganj | Sept 5, 2017:: The situation of some villages in Raiganj block of Uttar Dinajpur (West Bengal) went more tensed after the death of a Hindu activist named Toton Das (25 years).

Toton was hacked by TMC supported Muslim goons on Sunday when a Hindu mob was demonstrating at Bamangram in a protest against throwing beef and cow blood in some Hindu temples by unknown miscreants.

After observing the Bakri Eid on Saturday in a very gory manner, miscreants threw beef pieces, Caracas and cow blood  in some Hindu temples at Rariha, Kachimoha, Bamungram to hurt the Hindu sentiments in a very nasty manner. When these unholy incidents noticed by the local Hindus visiting the temples on Sunday morning, they started protest with a demand to arrest the culprits without any delay.

The inaction of the police outraged the Hindu public and they blocked the local roads. But, all on a sudden, a sizable armed mob of Muslim community from the nearby villages attacked the protesting Hindus where three Hindus were seriously injured and other 18 from both communities were also injured mild to moderate.

Hindus and Muslims found engaged in direct clashes. Many shops and houses were attacked and damaged. Police lobbed tear gas to disperse the agitating mob. Sec. 144 CrPC was imposed in the disturbed areas.

While all injured persons were admitted into Raiganj Hospital,  critically injured Toton Das was transferred to Malda Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to death without responding further treatment.

Body of Toton Das brought to his native village Rarhia on Monday afternoon after postmortem at Malda Medical College, where he was admitted on Sunday in a very critical condition.

As soon as the dead body of Toton reached his native village Rariha, the local Hindus became furious again. A heavy contingent of police reached the disturbed areas and controlled the situation assuring the public to arrest the culprits within three days at any cost.

The areas are still tensed now. Police postings in the areas are intensified.

In a very discriminating manner Bengali Hindus are denied with their religious rights by ruling TMC govt in West Bengal and its CM Mamata Banerjee while Islamic  religious rights are well protected in Bengal under a high fortification of Muslim appeasement.
