Kolkata STF busts Jihadi firearms manufacturing unit under a cover of confectionery unit, nine held.

Joyeep Sinha | HENB | Kolkata | July 31, 2018::  The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police on Monday busted an illegal arms manufacturing factory, which was being run behind a Laddu manufacturing unit (confectionery), at Manager Bagan of Kankinara area under Jagaddal PS in Kolkata’s neighbouring North 24 Parganas district and arrested nine persons in connection with the case, officials said.

According to reports, Anti FICN (Fake Indian Currency Notes) unit of city police’s STF had detained three persons, Suku Seikh (38), Md. Amjad Rayeen and Md. Abdulla (26), from city’s downtown Esplanade area under Maidan Police Station limits on Monday afternoon and recovered FICN worth Rs. 1 lakh  and several semi-finished firearms from their possessions.

“Acting on tip off, we nabbed two residents of Bihar and a resident of Kaliachak in West Bengal’s Malda district from near Kolkata Police Paddock and Monohar Das Tarag at Esplanade area, while they were doing transaction of FICN and illegal firearms, and seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) amounting to Rs. 1 lakh of denominations Rs. 500/- and 40 pieces of semi-finished country made improvised firearms from their possessions,” a senior official of KP STF told the media.

“In pursuant to the statement of one of the three arrested, Md. Abdulla, our investigators raided a sweets-shop-cum-manufacturing unit near Kankinara area in North 24 Parganas area later on Monday and unearthed an illegal firearms manufacturing factory there,” the official said.

It is told that one Kalipada Shaw lent the house to someone three months back at the rent of Rs. 8000/- per month. Previously Kalipada used to run his confectionery unit which was stopped one and half year before for a fire accident. Local people knew that house was still used for confectionery work. But, finally it was busted as a illegal arms factory. Police is also searching Kalipada to get more details about the person to whom Kalipada lent the house on rent.

“Besides seizing 20 pieces of semi-finished country made improvised pistols, one lathe machine, two milling machines, two drilling machines, a huge amount of country made improvised fire arms parts, raw materials and instruments, we arrested six more persons from the firearms manufacturing unit,” the officer added.

STF officials said that the six arrested have been identified as Md. Sabir Raien (28), Md. Shaud Alam alias Sonu (24), Md. Shanwaz alias Mister (25), Md. Faisal (24), Md. Razi alias Raju (19) and Md. Chand alias Domu (24).

“Of the six nabbed, Md. Sabir Raien hails from Navi Mumbai in Maharastra while remaining five are the residents of Munger in Bihar,” a STF officer told IBNS.

Sources in the STF said that all the arrested persons have been charged under IPC sections 120B, 489B, 489C and sections 25(1)(a) and 25(1B)(a) of Arms Act.

However, they were produced at a STF special court in Kolkata on Tuesday and were remanded to STF custody for further investigation.

West Bengal is indicated as a Jihadi hub as it is well nurtured by the appeasement policy of ruling Parties in the state for years.

The Kankinara revelation is quite meaningful as illegal arms and fake currency networks are captured in a single and silent terror frame under the courtesy of Jihadi didi.

Experts say that many Islamic Madrasa and Mosques in West Bengal are connected with Jihadi activities and the Jihadi perpetrators horde illegal arms in Madrasa and Mosques in many places.

Obviously, these illegal arms and fake notes are used in the Jihadi activities against the majority Hindus living in West Bengal.

A source hints that these Kankinara made firearms parts were used to send Kaliachak in Malda to make a finish there for fulfilling the consignments of Bangladesh Terrorist organisations like JMB and Ansarullah through cross border arms smuggling rackets.

Buddhadev Bhattacharya, the ex-Chief Minister of WB was once trolled by his party men and the Bengal intellectuals when he hinted that the Mosques and Madrasa along with border has suspected connection with cross border militancy and fundamentalism.
