Hindu Kanwariyas attacked by Muslims, 15 injured in clashes in Tonk district of Rajasthan.

Ram Avdhesh | Jaipur | HENB | Aug 24, 2018:: Tension gripped Malpura area of Tonk district after 14 Hindu kanwariyas were injured when Muslim miscreants pelted stones at them on Thursday afternoon.

Police said that a SUV was vandalized and torched in the clashes. Ajmer range IG Biju Geroge Joseph told TOI that Section 144 has been imposed and mobile internet services have been blocked in the tension-hit area.

Additional police force, including personnel from Rajasthan Armed Constablury (RAC), has been deployed to enforce law and order.

“Some kanwariyas have sustained minor injuries but there condition is out of danger, the situation is under control,” Biju said.

District SP Yogesh Dadhich said that a total of 14 kanwariyas were injured in the stone pelting. Apart from the SUV, a state roadways bus was also vandalized by the miscreants. By evening, the entire area wore a deserted look even as police teams closely guarded every nook and corner of Malpura.

Officials told HENB that a procession of kanwariyas was passing through a mixed locality when Muslim residents and kanwariyas had a heated argument which soon took a violent turn.

“A group of kawanraiys was passing through the locality after filling up water from a dam and playing loud music. There was some altercation between kanwariyas and members of another community following which tensions escalated,” the official said.

Police said that an investigation would be conducted into the matter and suspects rounded up.“Thefirst priority is to ensure peace and normalcy.All injured are out of danger and situation is under control,” the official said.

Senior officials arrived at the tension hit area to take stock of the situation. Anti-riot police have been deployed and intensive patrolling is being carried out.

Though Rajasthan is a BJP ruled state, the Jihadi groups here have been trying to exercise their Islamic powers frequently to show down the Hindu majority through communal flair ups on regular basis.

   Hindus your enemy is inferior to you, that’s why they attack you.
   The Allah-criminals – they are kin of brutal killers, looters and rapists.
   They lost and can’t bear it. Further, the anti-Hindu Congress and
   allies are the reason all this can happen. Losers are ghulams and
   not equal to Hindus. Bharat is your country not theirs. The local
   Government must take action and catch those criminals and must be
   punished. They must also pay for the damage they have caused.
