Upendra Bharti | HENB | Nagpur | Oct 8, 2019:: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday performed ‘shastra pujan’ at the annual Vijayadashmi festival in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city.
He was seen giving a thumbs up while the RSS band performed after drill exercises by swayamsevaks.
Bhagwat also address the swayamsevaks at the city’s Reshimbagh ground owned by RSS and delivered a message to the cadre of the organisation and its affiliates.
The RSS has also come up with its own Internet-based radio channel to broadcast Bhagwat’s speech at the event.
Dussehra holds a special importance for sarsanghchalaks as the RSS was founded on this day in 1925 by revolutionary Hindutva leader Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.
In his hour long speech Dr Mohan Bhagwat made effort to praise PM Modi by taking the topics of Indian Democracy in Lok Sabha Elections of 2014 & 2019, BJP’s big win under Modi’s leadership, Success of Chandrayaan, National Security, Removal of Art 370 and Good global position of India under the leadership of PM Modi.
In his Vijaya Dashmi Speech, RSS Chief proved himself a Big Fan of PM Modi in a larger reality.
Condemning the use western concept of ‘lynching’ to defame India, Dr Mohan Bhagwat urged strengthening Hindu society to not frighten but to save the weak and frightened. RSS Chief also lauded for Swadeshi economy.

Addressing the Vijayadashmi function of the RSS at Reshimbagh ground in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city, he said the word ‘lynching’ does not originate from Indian ethos but comes from a separate religious text, and such terms should not be imposed on Indians.
He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the government’s move to abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, but said some vested interests do not want the country to be strong and vibrant.
Voicing his displeasure over several incidents of mob violence in the country, he said, “Lynching is not the word from Indian ethos, its origin is from a story in a separate religious text. We Indians trust in brotherhood. Don’t impose such terms on Indians.”
“Lynching itself is a western construct and one shouldn’t use it in the Indian context to defame the country,” he said. Bhagwat urged citizens to create harmony, and that everyone should live within confines of law.
The RSS chief mentioned in his speech that the Swayamsevaks (RSS volunteers) in general and positioned in the Govt are ready to abide by the law of the land without violating it. “Swayamsevaks are brought up with that sanskar,” he said.
“There are many people in the world and in Bharat as well, who don’t want this. A developed Bharat creates fear in the minds of vested interests…such forces will also not want Bharat to be strong and vibrant,” the RSS chief said.
Even well-meaning policies, statements from persons in government and administration were being misused to benefit nefarious designs by vested interests, he rued.
“We must be alert in identifying these plots and counter them on intellectual and social levels,” he said.
Bhagwat said the world was eager to know if the 2019 elections in such a huge country will be conducted smoothly.
“Democracy in India is not something imported from any country, but a practice which has been prevalent here since centuries,” Bhagwat said.
He said India’s borders were now safer than ever, and more focus was needed on coastal security.
“The number of guards and check-posts on land borders and surveillance along the maritime border, especially on islands, have to be increased,” he said.
On concerns over the economic sector, he said the slowing down of world economy has left its impact everywhere.
“The government has taken initiatives to tide over the situation in the last one-and-a-half months. Our society is entrepreneurial and will overcome these challenges,” he added.
HCL founder Shiv Nadar was the chief guest for this year’s event.
Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Gen V K Singh (retd) and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were among those present at the event.
Though this Vijaya Dashmi Speech, 2019+ had its ultimate effort to save and promote Modi led BJP Govt in the Center, RSS Chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat tactfully omitted the issues like Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits, Ban on Cow Slaughter, Increase of Jihadi and Evangelic activism and Economical tyranny (extruding RBI surplus of Rs 1.76 lakh crore to spend for unplanned & secret purposes) of Modi govt. in his speech.
Though RSS Chief tried to clarify the organisation’s stand for Hindu Rashtra and other social issues in his Vijaya Dashmi Speech, it is well exposed that its weather cock in Nagpur RSS HQ now only works on the air coming from BJP HQ in New Delhi.
