Subhra Das | HENB | Barasat | January 30, 2020:: State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief and Member of Parliament from Kharagpur, Dilip Ghosh sparked controversy by saying that West Bengal is turning into Pakistan. As per his opinion, under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, the distinguished state culture is disappearing from Bengal.
“Under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, state culture is disappearing. Where Saraswati puja and Durga Puja couldn’t happen, it is not West Bengal, it is Bangladesh, it is Pakistan. In many places the Saraswati puja has been stopped,” Ghosh made this statement while addressing press conference in North 24 Parganas on January 30. Media asked Ghosh to comment over the closing of Saraswati Puja in a Haroa School in North 24 Parganas.
He also pointed out the Jihadi upraise in Bengal, without mentioning it directly and expressed his concern over the law and order situation in Bengal and pitiable condition of Hindus where permissions would be necessary from the Mosques to hold Saraswati Puja.
Praising the role of WB Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, Ghosh told the media that the Guv is duty-bound to confer his suggestions to the state for the betterment of the Govt performance.
“WB Governor is doing no wrong. Governor is doing his duties under his jurisdiction very well but the present ruling party has not the power to understand it in its right perspective,” Ghosh added.
