Upendra Bharti | HENB | Agra | April 16, 2022:: Two days after former Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) state secretary Baldeo Chaudhary announced to install loudspeakers at 21 key crossings in Aligarh that would play Hanuman Chalisa and “propagate Hinduism”, the Hindu Mahasabha joined the campaign on Friday and installed four loudspeakers that started blaring “mantras”. In the wave of anti-Azan wave in India, some parts of Uttar Pradesh have stuck with strong reaction of it to install loudspeakers atop temples to play Mantras and Hanuman Chalisha at Azan times.

The loudspeakers were seen in the Sanatan Bhawan in the city. Hindu activists put up loudspeakers there to play five times Mantras and Hanuman Chalisha accordingly.

Hindu Mahasabha national secretary Pooja Shakun Pandey  alleged that “if Muslims can use loudspeakers for ‘azaan’ then why can’t we play Hanuman Chalisa?” “We will play Hanuman Chalisa five times a day,” she asserted, adding that “if anyone has a problem, they can approach the police”.

“We will put up loudspeakers in other buildings including too,” she said.

“If the administration can allow others to use loudspeakers, they cannot stop any particular community from doing so,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, BJP MLC said that the demand to put up loudspeakers across Aligarh is a “valid one.”

Aligarh Police put an alert to avoid any further disturbance in the city and adjacent localities.
