Jilted Muslim Youth arrested in Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh) for threatening to behead Hindu girl’s family not ready to allow their girl for marriage.

Pinki Gupta | HENB | Lucknow | Sept 3, 2022:: The cops of Khekra police station in Baghpat arrested one Mohammad Rahees on Friday following a complaint filed by a family, accusing him of threatening them with death.

The family, in the complaint, alleged that the accused issued ‘sar tan se juda’ (cut the head from body) threats to them and also to make their daughter’s objectionable images viral on social media if the family “did not send her to him”.

The report was lodged last Wednesday. Prior to this, in May, the family had filed another complaint against the same person, accusing him of kidnapping their daughter.

Based on the first complaint, the police had booked Rahees under Section 366 (kidnapping a woman and compelling her for marriage or to cause her defilement) of the Indian Penal Code. Later the police had registered another FIR against the accused under IPC section 506 (criminal intimidation) and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form).

In the second complaint filed at the Khekra police station, the girl’s father alleged that Mohammad Rahees had been pressuring them to ‘send their daughter to him’ or face dire repercussions. The father further said that the accused had threatened to behead his entire family if they did not agree to his demands.

The accused, as per the girl’s father, had put up an objectionable picture of his daughter as his WhatsApp status on August 23, 2022 and further threatened to leak her obscene pictures on social media when the family did not concede to his demand.

The girl’s father confirmed that Rahees was a resident of Ghaziabad.

He recalled how on July 18, the accused accosted him and his wife when they were on their way to Delhi on their motorcycle. He added that Rahees threatened his wife by saying, “Send your daughter to me, or I will chop off your head and your husband’s body”.

“The family has been terrified since then,” the father said.

The girl’s father said that seeing the commotion, when the passers-by started gathering near his motorcycle, Rahees fled. However, he has been relentlessly pressuring his family to send the girl ever since.

According to a report, the victim’s father stated that his daughter used to teach in a school. The accused used to put up a stall in the Friday weekly market held near the school. On May 30, his daughter suddenly went missing. She left without informing her parents. The distraught parents approached various organisations for help. They filed a complaint regarding the same at the Khekra police station. Following the protest by some Hindu outfits, the police recovered their daughter after a month and returned her to the family. The Hindu outfits pointed out increasing ‘Love Jihad’ cases in entire Uttar Pradesh ignoring all law enforcement.

Meanwhile, the police claimed that earlier in her statement before the magistrate after she was rescued, the girl stated that she was in love with the youth and had left with him of her own free will. However, ever since she was recovered and sent back home by the police, Rahees had been hounding and harassing the family and threatening it with dire consequences.

But, another source reported that few months ago Rahees came to the house of the girl. He concealed his identity and said his name as Vikash. He also proposed marriage to the parents of the daughter there. But, the family of the girl did not agree to that proposal. And that’s why Rahees turned jilted. Even though he left there at that time, he kept the anger in his mind to take a revenge.

Anyway, the Baghpat Police confirmed the arrest of Rahees son of Aziz in their twitter handle and assured prompt action according to the law in force.
