BJP Leader Cancels Daughter’s Wedding With Muslim Man After Facing Hard From Hindutva Outfits In Uttarakhand. 

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Pauri | May 21, 2023:: Facing the hardest flak from Hindutva outfits, a BJP leader from Uttarakhand on Saturday said he has called off his daughter’s marriage to a Muslim man, which was to be held next week. Now, the BJP leader is surely out of the ‘Same DNA’  spell as propounded by the Vetreineary Chief of RSS, Mr Mohan Bhagwat. A group of people belonging to Hindutva outfits – VHP, Bhairav Sena, and Bajrang Dal – on Friday burnt the effigy of BJP leader Yashpal Benam at Jhanda Chawk in Pauri over his decision to get his daughter married to a Muslim youth. The Hindutva organisations also took the oath for opposing Islamization of Uttrakhand in various modes of Infiltration Jihad, Land Jihad, Love Jihad, and so on.

Yashpal Benam, the bride’s father and Pauri municipal chairman said he thought of getting his daughter married to a Muslim man for her willingness but he decided to postpone their wedding after facing immense backlash from Hindutva outfits. The wedding was scheduled to be held on May 28.

Speaking to the media, Benam said, “Now I have to listen to the voice of the public as well and also have to think of my political future.”

The wedding to be held in Pauri city has now been canceled, the BJP leader said, PTI reported.

The marriage was fixed between Monika (the daughter of Yashpal Benam) of Pauri -Uttrakhand and Md Monis (the son of Md Rais) of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

The Hindu outfits started protesting against the wedding of BJP leader’s daughter after a photo of the invitation card went viral on social media platforms on Thursday.

While Hindutva hardliners are trolling the former MLA and the saffron party alleging “double standards”, others are calling the marriage an attempt of “Love Jihad”, comparing it with the recently released controversial movie The Kerala Stories.

“The BJP-ruled states are making films like ‘The Kerala Story’ tax-free while here a BJP leader’s daughter is marrying a Muslim man. These are double standards of the BJP and party workers will get demoralised,” said a Facebook user.

The working president of district VHP, Dipak Gaud had said, “We strongly oppose such a marriage.”

From a source, it is known that many state-level RSS and BJP leaders were also invited in the marriage and they had no reaction to the marriage. But, the base-level workers from VHP, Bhairav Sena, and Bajrang Dal started protests on social media and on the ground level also.

It is also reported that the BJP leader Yashpal Benam had also covert business with the Muslim family of the canceled groom Md Monis.
