Swami Prasad Maurya reminds Mohan Bhagwat, Narendra Modi that ‘Hindu is Dharma’, not just ‘Way of Life’.

Stimulated by Mohan Bhagwat and Narendra Modi, Samajwadi leader Swami Prasad Maurya Remarked, ‘Hindu as Fraud, Not a Dharma’! Sparks Controversy, BJP Reacts.  

Referring to SC verdict of 1995, Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya claimed that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also asserted Hinduism as not a religion but merely ‘a way of life’.  

Vishal Bharadwaj | HENB | New Delhi | Dec 27, 2023:: The experiment of RSS (Rashtriya Swaymsevak Sangha) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) to set a new narrative like ‘Hindu is not a way of worship’, ‘Not a Religion’ and Just a ‘Way of Life’ contradicting with the essence of Sanatana Dharma saturated with ‘Shruti-Smriti’, ‘ChaturVarna’, ‘ChaturAshram’, ‘CharPurusarth’, ‘MlecchaPradushan’ and many things at the cost of huge adulteration of adjustment; now created a big trouble indeed.

Though, inits 1995 judgement, the Supreme Court of India defined Hindutva or Hinduism as a “way of life” and nothing to do with “narrow fundamentalist Hindu religious bigotry”, the RSS and BJP always tried to manipulate the SC verdict misinterpreting Hindu not a religion to get electoral supports from non-Hindus undermining the ‘essence of Hinduism’, most appropriately the ‘Hindu Dharma’.

Now, the consequences of misutilizing Hinduism with a ill motivation and vested interest by the RSS and BJP have been appeared before the Hindu society with newer demonic formats.

Recently, the notorious anti-Hindu Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya has triggered a huge row with his controversial remarks over Hinduism. Maurya was addressing the Bahujan Samaj Rights Conference at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on Monday.

“Hindu dharma ek dhokha hai (Hindu religion is a kind of deception),” Swami Prasad Maurya said adding that even RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also said that Hinduism is not a religion, but just “a way of life”.

“Even Mohan Bhagwat had said, not once but twice, that Hindu is not a religion but a way of life. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also said that Hindu is not a religion. Sentiments don’t get hurt when these people make such statements but if Swami Prasad Maurya says it, the remarks cause unrest,” he said.

Mr Maurya also cited a Supreme Court’s ruling to justify his remarks. “In 1995, the Supreme Court said in its order that Hindu is not a religion but a way of life,” Mr Maurya said.

This is not the first time when Swami Prasad Maurya, who had quit the BJP to join the Samajwadi Party ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, has made anti-Hindu” remarks.

In August, he shared a video on X – earlier known as Twitter – saying that “Hinduism is just a hoax”. “The roots of Brahminism are very deep and the reason for all the disparity is also Brahminism. There is no religion called Hindu, Hinduism is just a hoax,” he was heard saying in the video.

The Samajwadi Party leader had in January this year said that certain verses of the Ramcharitmanas promoted social discrimination. “If there is any insult to a section of society due to certain lines in the Ramcharitmanas on the basis of ‘jaati’, ‘varn’ and ‘varg’, then it is certainly not ‘dharma’, it is ‘adharma’,” he had said.

Interestingly, when this Swamy Prasad Maurya was in BJP earlier, he found no fraud or hoax in Sanatan Hindu Dharma. Swami Prasad Maurya had previously left the BJP to join the Samajwadi Party ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls and attained his new height to reveal Hinduism as Fraud or Hoax or Business.

Akhilesh Yadav reacts

Speaking to the representatives of Kannauj’s Prabuddha Samaj and Maha Brahmin Samaj Panchayat at the party’s state headquarters in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party Chief, Akhilesh Yadav advised that leaders should avoid making comments on religion and caste, as reported by India Today.

Some party workers had objected to the statements of Swami Maurya without taking his name.

In response to Swami Prasad Maurya’s comments, several BJP leaders criticised his statements. 

BJP MP Subrat Pathak has called for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to file an FIR against SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav and take strict action, labelling Maurya’s remarks as an insult to Hindus.

Union Minister Narayan Rane expressed, “Such a person cannot be a citizen of India”.

BJP MP Sushil Kumar Modi accused Maurya and other opposition INDIA bloc leaders of insulting Sanatana Dharma and the Hindu religion.

At least many BJP leaders and their RSS mentors have been able to understand Hindu is just not a mere ‘Way of Life’, it is our ‘Dharma’, ‘Identity’ and ‘Way of Worship’, our ‘Tradition and Culture’ distancing the hobnobbing with ‘Mlecchas’.
