Dharmic Regeneration Key to Bengal’s Future, Says VHP’s Dakshin Banga Sant Sammelan.

VHP Organizes South Bengal Sant Sammelan to Address Anti-Hindu Situation in WB Making a Call for Dharmic Regeneration. 

Sankirtan Das | HENB | Kolkata | Aug 7, 2025:: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) recently held a grand sant sammelan (gathering of saints, seers, and monks)  at Diamond Harbour Bharat Sevasharam Sangh (South 24 Parganas, West Bengal), bringing together Hindu religious leaders and priests from across South Bengal. The event aimed to discuss the current anti-Hindu situation in Bengal, allegedly perpetuated by the ruling party’s Muslim appeasement policies. The sammelan strongly condemned the state-sponsored character assassination of revered saints in Bengal, describing it as utterly reprehensible.

Key Issues Addressed

The conference focused on several key issues affecting the Bengali Hindu community, including attacks on Hindu temples and symbols, promoting Hindu way of life, combating conversion and love jihad, protecting cow progeny, and maintaining Hindu majority in demography. The event also discussed the upcoming Gita recitation event in Brigade Parade Ground on December 7, where 5 lakh devotees are expected to participate. The role of heads of ashrams and temples was also emphasized to address the crisis.
1. Attacks on Hindu Temples and Symbols: Discussions centered around problems faced by Hindus, such as attacks on temples, ashrams, idols, and other sacred symbols.
2. Promoting Hindu Way of Life: The event emphasized the importance of exploring and promoting Hindu traditions, including wearing tilak, rudraksh malas, and other cultural practices.
3. Combating Conversion and Love Jihad: Strategies to counter conversion and love jihad were discussed, with a focus on protecting Hindu identity and culture.
4. Protection of Cow Progeny: The conference highlighted the need to protect cow progeny, a significant issue for many Hindus.
5. Demographic Concerns: Maintaining a Hindu majority in demography was discussed, with a focus on enhancing Hindu population growth to counter potential threats.
6. Gita Recitation Event: The event also discussed the upcoming Gita recitation event in Brigade Parade Ground on December 7, where 5 lakh devotees are expected to participate.

Notable Attendees

The conference was attended by prominent Hindu leaders and representatives from various organizations, including:

1. Padmashri Swami Pradiptananda (Kartik) Maharaj of Bharat Sevashram Sangha
2. Swami Nirgunananda of Rishra Prem Mandir
3. Bandhu Gaurav Brahmachari of Mahanam Angan-Mahauddharan Math
4. Jagadartiha Prabhu of ISKCON
5. Sanatan Sant Dr. Shivnarayan Sen of Shashtra Dharma Prachar Sabha
6. Swami Adhyatmananda, founder of Hindu Suraksha Vahini

Representatives from Chinmaya Mission, Assam Bangiya Saraswat Math, various Gaudiya Maths, Ramakrishna Satyananda Ashram, Swaminarayan Sect, Juna Akhara, and Ramanandi Vaishnava sect were also present and participated in the churning of Hindu regeneration.

VHP Sant Sanyojak Swami Satyaprakashananda (Prakash Maharaj), Swami Dhyanabratananda (Amar Maharaj), and VHP Dakshin Bangla Secretary Chandranath Das were also present at the convention to coordinate the event.

Call for Unity

Speakers at the conference highlighted the plight of Bengali Hindus under the current government and urged the community to unite, putting aside differences of caste, creed, language, and politics. Swami Nirgunananda emphasized the need for a regeneration of Dharma on the lines of the Gita, while Swami Pradiptananda urged the community to strengthen their resolve to protect Hindu existence in Bengal with united Dharmic power and principles.

Gita Recitation Event

The Gita recitation event on December 7 is expected to be a significant moment for the Hindu community, with prominent speakers and 5 lakh devotees participating. The event aims to promote Hindu unity and cultural heritage, while also highlighting the community’s concerns and aspirations.

Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham, Gita Manishi Gyananda, and Shadhvi Ritambhara of Vatsalya Gram will grace the Gita recitation event in Brigade Parade Ground, Kolkata, on December 7, 2024. Chapters I, IX, and XVIII (i.e., Adi, Madhya, and Antya) will be recited by 5 lakh devotees this year.

A Critical Moment: Last Chance for Bengali Hindus

The VHP’s efforts come at a critical moment, with the 2026 assembly election in Bengal looming large. Swami Pradiptananda warned that the community’s existence is at stake, and that the upcoming election may be their last chance to protect their Hindu rights and interests.
