Hindu Repercussion: Why Hindutva Activists Took the Law into Their Own Hands in MP to Assault Muslim Men?

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Bhopal | Nov 25, 2025:: In a strong display of pro-activism, members of Hindutva groups in Madhya Pradesh took matters into their own hands, assaulting two Muslim men accused of crimes against Hindu girls. The incidents, which occurred in Bhopal and Chhatarpur, have raised concerns about the role of right-wing groups in ventilating  their own count of justice.

In both cases, the family members of the victims urged the police to take action against the alleged perpetrators, but their pleas yielded no results. Frustrated with police inaction, local Hindutva workers felt compelled to take the law into their own hands, assaulting the two Muslim men before handing them over to the police.

Bhopal Incident: Assault on Danish Khan

In Bhopal’s Ayodhya Nagar area, several members of the Bajrang Dal stormed a flat in Tanishk Apartments, forcibly entering the premises and attacking a Muslim man identified as Danish Khan. According to reports, Khan had created a fake social media profile under the name Rohit Yadav, allegedly misleading a Hindu girl. The Bajrang Dal members claimed that Khan’s actions were a serious offense and handed him over to the Ayodhya Nagar police after assaulting him. A case has been registered against Khan under relevant legal sections.

Chhatarpur Incident: Assault on Anas Khan

In a separate incident in Chhatarpur, workers from the Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagran Manch caught a young Muslim man named Anas Khan, who allegedly blackmailed a Hindu girl with her photos and videos. According to local reports, Khan was apprehended at Hotel Adarsh Plaza on Panna Road, owned by a BJP leader. He was subjected to a brutal assault, forced to eat drain waste, and dragged by his hair to the police station. The organization claimed that Khan had been harassing the girl for months, extorting money from her using her obscene photographs.

Police Inaction Sparks Outrage

In both cases, the family members of the victims had reportedly approached the police seeking action against the alleged perpetrators, but their pleas yielded no results. Frustrated with the police inaction, local Hindutva workers took the law into their own hands, assaulting the Muslim men before handing them over to the authorities.

These incidents have raised questions about the growing trend of vigilantism in the region and the role of right-wing groups in enforcing their own brand of justice. While the incidents are still under investigation, they highlight the need for a more robust and responsive law enforcement mechanism to prevent such incidents in the future, prior to police action.
