Haryana Police Accused of Neglect in Minor Hindu Girl’s Abduction and Forced Conversion Case.

BJP-Ruled Haryana: Minor Girl Abducted, Forced to Convert in Mosque; Police Made Arrest 2 Months Later After Mahapanchayat Pressure.

Upananda Brahmachari  | HENB | New Delhi | Dec 10, 2025:: In a shocking incident in Haryana, a BJP-ruled state, the police were criticized for their alleged negligence in arresting the accused persons involved in the abduction and forced conversion of a minor Hindu girl in a mosque. The incident occurred on September 25, 2025, when the 15-year-old girl went missing from her home. Her father later found her in a nearby mosque, where a Maulvi (Islamic cleric) and another person were allegedly forcing her to convert by making her hold the Quran, cutting her sacred red thread (kalawa) and Rakhi, and wiping the tilak from her forehead.

Mahapanchayat

The police only took action after a Mahapanchayat was organized on December 7, 2025, in Palwal, Haryana, in protest against the forced religious conversion and molestation of the minor girl. Notably, Bittu Bajrangi, accused in the Nuh violence case, was planning to attend the mahapanchayat but was placed under house arrest by the police at his residence in Faridabad, in a preemptive move to prevent any potential escalation.

The Mahapanchayat warned that if the accused were not arrested, a massive agitation would be launched, and the police administration would be held responsible. A 31-member committee was formed to meet government and administration officials regularly until action is taken. The mahapanchayat gave the police a 15-day ultimatum to arrest the accused, with 52 clans participating in the protest.

Police Action and Arrests

Following the mahapanchayat, the police arrested five accused, including two minors, and formed an SIT to investigate the case. The police’s sudden action was seen as a response to the pressure mounted by the mahapanchayat and the larger Hindu community.

Allegations of Police Laxity and Threats to the Victim’s Family

The victim’s father, who also attended Mahapanchayat, alleged that the police were being lax about the case and were under pressure to withdraw the charges. The family had also received death threats, and the father claimed that one cleric (Maulvi) and the minor girl had been arrested, but seven accused were still absconding, leaving the family fearful for their lives.

The police took action and made arrests only after a 2-month delay, fueling allegations that the authorities were protecting the Muslim culprits involved in the case.”

Concerns about Minority-Majority Dynamics

The incident has raised concerns about the alleged bullying of the majority Hindu population by the minority Muslim community in Haryana. The victim’s family and other Hindu groups have accused the police and the ruling party of ignoring their plight and failing to provide adequate protection. This incident has also sparked memories of the Nuh violence, where Hindu devotees and women were attacked by jihadi elements, raising questions about the BJP’s commitment to Hindutva and safeguarding Hindu interests.

It’s deeply concerning that the minority Muslim community, comprising less than 10% of Haryana’s population, is allegedly intimidating the majority Hindu population through abductions of girls and women, forcing them to convert to Islam. What’s even more egregious is the apparent apathy of the police and the ruling party towards the victimized Hindu families, who are left with no choice but to resort to a Maha Panchayat to seek justice.
