Cow slaughter banned by Calcutta High Court

Kolkata, Nov 12 (IBNS): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday welcomed a judgement by the Calcutta High Court banning the slaughter of cows for religious purposes.

The weighty judgement comes days ahead of Eid Al-Adhha (Feast of Sacrifice) also known as ‘Bakri-Eid’ being observed by Muslims across India by sacrificing goats and even cows in some places.

The division bench of Chief Justice J N Patel and Justice Asim Ray of the Calcutta High Court on Friday declared the practice of sacrificing cow and its progeny for religious purpose as ‘unlawful’, the RSS statement said.

The Hindu volunteer organisation added that it expected the judgment to have “far reaching ramifications in the minority-centric domestic politics of West Bengal”.

This is a great victory of the Hindus indeed. But we should not be double standard. Slaughter of cow progeny hurts the Hindus. So, Hindus cannot sell any of them to the butchers for killing. It is a perpetual sin. All the Dharma Samsads and the Dharmik apex bodies of Hindus should immediately declare prohibition of cow selling to the butchers and slaughter houses. Any Hindu connected with such Adharmik (anti-religious) activities should not be considered as a real Hindu. Please, we should not indulge ourselves in such a sin. Cows are considered as Gau-Mata, Kama-Dhenu to us. We should save a cow even sacrificing our soul.

We should be prepared to face the bigger fight in Supreme Court if the situation demands. We should congratulate Sri Abjijit Das of Amtala Nagarik Adhikar Raksha Samity, the present petitioner of the case No. W.P. No 1378 of 2010. We should thankful the band of spirited lawyers in the HC, viz. Mr. Kallol GuhaThakurta, Mr. Ganesh Banerjee, Mr. Jai Surana and Mr. A. K. Saregi for the petitioner, who impleaded a marvelous for the cause Hindu Sentiment, Prevention of Animal Cruelty and Indian Economy. We must convey our gratitude to the Hon’ble bench of Calcutta High Court adorned by Hon’ble Chief Justice, Mr. J. N. Patel and Justice Mr. Ashim Kumar Roy for delivering the most essential in the context of the situation.

Bakri Eid – the level of brutality surpasses the significance of sacrifice

1. Moslems observe their festival of Eid Al-Adbba ( Feast of Sacrifice ), also known as ” Bakri-Eid ,” by wholesale butchering of animals, goats & even cows, without showing the least bit of pity or concern for these innocent creatures of the Lord.

2. Moslems call this grossly-offensive, brutal, & despicable act, as an act of sacrifice. What a Joke ? Moslems are making no sacrifice, What are sacrificed are the blameless & guiltless creatures, who have done no harm to these beastly-barbaric Sullas.

3. This brutal & barbaric act, performed at the time of ” Bakir-Eid, ” has no connection with sacrifice, but has all the defining characteristics of Moslem’s aggressiveness, and his cruelty on inculpable & innocent beasts, who have given no offense to either the Moslems or their Islam.

4. What is most wicked & nefarious is the method of slaughtering, that is used by Moslems. It is called Halal, which is a procedure of Very Slow Slaughter of the poor animal, slitting the throat, slowly incising & slashing the organs of these poor innocent animal, to cause maximum pain on these poor creatures. It is so horrid & nauseating, that is beyond description.

5. Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals:
Where are you ? Are you sleeping ?
Are you going to do anything about stopping this hideous cruelty, inflicted on these unfortunate creatures of this earth ? Isn’t man responsible for the safety & humane treatment of all, man as well as the beast ?

  Killing innocent animals and Kaffirs is an essential part of Islam. Islam cannot exist without shedding blood. History record is replete with bloodletting by the followers of Allah. Strangely, government of India subsidize Jihadis for mass murder of animals in the name of their fictitious Allah at Mecca during Hajj. More than 40 million innocent animals are slaughtered the most brutal way during Hajj. Slaughtering innocent animals in the name of GOD is against Indian law. Despite government of India, to appease bloodthirsty Jihadis subsidize Muslims for the trip to Mecca for improving their beheading skills.
  
  During Islamic Ramadan Feasting season Muslims slaughter millions of animals and eat decaying flesh from sunset to sunrise against all health norms. What a shame!

    Dear sir pls go a bit deeper and find out what Islam is about and how each of ur point is a wrong statement…its very common misconception on islam.
    
    Sacrifice during Eid al Adha is a symbolic ritual for the sacrifice for GOD; now for you to know whats the stroy behind i would ask you to look for some literature on Prophet Ibrahim(Abraham)
    
    The underlying implication of Islam’s attitude toward ritual slaughter is not that of blood atonement, or seeking favor with GOD through another’s death, but rather, the act of thanking GOD for one’s sustenance and the personal sacrifice of sharing one’s possessions and valuable food with one’s fellow humans.
    
    I would state that your knowledge on slaughtering is very limited.. in fact it has been proved that the right way to slaughter the animals is HALAL; its not as painful as other methods and also it is much safer meat as teh blood is completely drained out.
    
    i request you to pls understand the relegion and clear all the misconceptions on Islam..GOD will show you the right path…

    This is the very good step Which has been taken by Calcutta High Court. Cow is the mother of hindus. But this is not our victory. The real victory will be then when all the slaughter houses in india would be banned.
    You coward Muslim man u dare not to kill cow, ox and Hindus. I am a Punjabi. You dont know the power of Punjabi-Sikh. If you try to do this menace in the soil of Punjub, we will cut you off……..in small pieces.

Hundreds of trucks full with cows are entering Kolkata, they cover most of the trucks on all sides so no one on road can get a hint of what is inside those trucks but from high rise apartment one can clearly see the cows on the trucks, all night hundreds of such trucks are entering through VIP road, I know because I’ve seen them from my rooftop.

i think this is a landmark judgment.
i am not against any religion but i am against a ritual which mercilessly kills thousands of animals which is inhuman
Millions of animals will be sacrificed mercilessly, so i request u all as many of us have Muslim friends, to convince them, not
to be part of such a ritual that mercilessly butchers innocent animals.
during eid the butchering of animals especially goats increases about 10 times and i really feel sad
If each member convinces one Muslim, atle…ast 10000+ animals could be
saved.
i truly feel God does not like killing of animals who have done no wrong just in the name of God
how do you justify that mercilessly killing of animals pleases GOD and makes him happy?????????

the cruel Muslim ritual of “qurbani”….slowly killing a goat….lopping of meat chunks off it ….and eating it after cookeing the meat chunks…and yes…..howling Allah hu Akbar while the hapless goat is being slaughtered slowly as per so called “halal”

this violent barbaric ritual has led to the complete decimation of goat population in the Muslim countries.so much so that non Muslim countries are exporting live cattle and goats to Muslim countries for slaughter.

A new fervour for a cow renaissance is necessary. It is constitutional (for India) and we should defend it with all our might.
The whole world takes the cow as their mother. The reason is that the birth-giving mother gives milk to its child only for one or two years, but the mother cow gives milk throughout its life, which is like nectar
As the peepal tree and tulasi plant give oxygen, similarly the cow is the only animal which purifies the air. If one spoon of pure ghee is poured on burning cow dung (in homa) then they can produce one-ton of pure air, therefore ghee made with cow milk is used in sacrificial fires and havans. There is no better method to remove pollution.
The Indian culture gives special place to the cow. All the 330 million gods have cow as their prime temple (all devas reside in the cow). Deva means to give, the strength to give, the ability to give more and take the minimum. This is known as Devata. The cow takes very less from us and gives us more. Therefore the Indian people have shown this with the help of strict devotion and dedication. Thus the cow has a prominent place in the Indian life and economy. Wealth, religion, enjoyment and salvation are accomplished with the service of the cow.
This is Bharatvarsha with all the 5000 years of cultural evolution not a primitive Bedouin cultures formed in the deserts of Arabia!!!

Any animal sacrifice ritual is the work of devil….as per in nepal india to….the temple of that goddess should be destroyed as animals are sacrificed in her name which is the work of devil.
As from a part muslim family I strongly go against the celebartion of bakra eid.as I have seen were camels are sacrificed in such a inhumane way without any mercy….muslims dont show respect to animals they are just greedy people cows,sheeps,goats and buffaloes they are slaugtered in such a barbaric and inhumane way and this the reason why I have abandoned Islam…because I have seen the camel and other animals while this stupid butchers chant allahs name…that seems so cheap of muslims…as abraham would have never killed his son in such a barbaric way as the muslims are doing…Abraham took his sons permission before killing him and treated him with respect………..

  I am a vegetarian and strongly oppose killing of animals for food. Human body is not meant for consuming meat. Most abused of all creatures are chickens – raised in filthy poultry farms, these social birds live their entire lives in dark dingy shades, never get to see daylight until they are crammed into trucks and sent for slaughter. Those of you who feel pity for the cows should also feel pity for chickens and goats. Have you ever seen goats tied in your local meat shop? Look into their eyes and feel the horror.
  
  I think the Calcutta High Court should IMMEDIATELY ban goat sacrifice at Kalighat Temple as well. It is just as barbaric and heinous as slaughtering a cow or a camel. All animals feel pain the same way and there is no such thing as humane slaughter.

    Sacrifice of animal is available in every religion.
    Eating meat is not mandatory for Muslim.A pure vegetarian may be a very good Muslim.Non Muslims are more non vegetarian.If u eat raw plant this is more sinful because they have life. And the cooked meat has mo life at all. Our govt earn 10000 cores rupees from meat industry annually which is 7%of gdp this one of the industry. With our Islamic trick and “Al Taquiya”, we will convert all Hindus and Non Muslims into Islam and everybody then will slaughter cows without hesitation. Isnshallah.

Some Muslim people are trying to celebrate bakri id in our residential complex in covered by cutting around 150 goats. They have proposal to slaughter one bull also this year. There r 204 flats but Muslims are less than 30 percent

We want stop the death of cow. I request u to the whole GO RAKSHYA TEAM to ban the system of cutting of COW MATA in CALCUTTA.
It should be a strict rule in the SUPREME COURT to be punished those people who are responsible for attacking the cow. The punishment to the people should be very severe such that they will never try again it.

I dont know about Hindu and Muslim. I know we use to drink milk from cow like our mother. And we can’t sacrifise our mother. If u want to do qurbani … ”U just kill yourself ” that will be real qurbani. At first u have to know what is qurbani…..god, allha never want qurbani at the cost of brutal torture of innocent animals.
