Kewal Ahluwalia.
When American sit down at their Thanksgiving tables with some empty chairs, and sorrowful places in their hearts, because their son or daughter, wife or husband, father or mother, sister or brother, who were killed in Iraq or Afghanistan. Those families may be proud of the service their loved one performed, but the absence of that lost loved one can never be made up or made over. If any soldiers who make ultimate sacrifices of life and limb the rest of us should at least acknowledge them. The Americans will be grateful beyond words for the service and hard work of all those Americans of the armed services who make our country great through their sacrifice. Similarly we should not forget the as to what happened in Mumbai on 26th November 2008.
Their memories must be kept alive for now and forever not only in gratitude for their personal, selfless sacrifices, compassion and humanity for the country.Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
26 November’ is a watershed day in the history of post independent modern India. It is the anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist act of the enemies and their handlers from foreign soil on prominent landmarks of Mumbai, the ‘financial capital’ of India. A total of 166 persons, including foreign nationals from UK, USA and Israel, were killed and 304 others injured, Let us start the day by praying for all the innocent souls who lost their lives in the senseless mayhem carried out by a bunch of misguided religious zealots. Let us salute our valiant young security personnel who managed to over-power the criminals with ill-equipped & ill-trained, over-worked Mumbai Police force. Let us also not forget the courage and fortitude of the ordinary ‘Mumbaikar’ who rose to the occasion to help the injured victims. Let us, irrespective of where you live express our solidarity with the people of Mumbai in the best way we can and most important emulate their spirit of brotherhood in times of distress. Bruised and battered, India still stands united and firm.
This audacious attack will haunt the people of Mumbai, as we will remember it again next year and for many years to come, just like Jalianwala Bhag and as America will never ever forgetting 9/11 the destruction of Twin Towers of New York and subsequent loss of more than 3,000 lives.
