Hindus protested Anti National, Pro-Pakistani, Milad-un-Nabi Procession in Gwalior. Seven arrested and put in Jail.

7 youths arrested by Gwalior Police for displaying banner with Pakistani flag in Milad-un-Nabi procession after Hindu protest, but no action was taken for violating the respect of National Flag. 

HENB | Gwalior (MP) | 06 January 2015::  Tension  prevailed in Mahrajwada locality with Pakistani flag prominently printed  on the Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (Birth day celebration of Hazrat Muhammad) banner which was being carried in Milad-un-Nabi procession in Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) on Sunday. It took a pick when the matter went viral on WhatsApp on Sunday.

When news spread that Hindu organisations had objected to the banner, some Muslim people tried to cover it with white ink but by then photographs had already been widely circulated on WhatsApp.

Hindu Activists of Bajrang Dal, Hindu Mahasabha and Vishwa Hindu Parishad vehemently objected the banners bearing Pak flags  on it  and reached the Kotwali Police station on Sunday mid-night and pressurized the police to take immediate actions.

Kotwali  Police called six Muslims and a Hindu youth  for interrogation on Monday morning on the basis of allegations of putting up the hoarding with the Pakistani flag and also their own pictures printed in the banner on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

After probing the matter, police arrested all of them on Monday and produced them in a court which sent them to 14 days judicial custody, Inspector General, Gwalior Range, Adarsh Katiyar said.

The arrested persons are: Sanny Pathan, Arif Khan, Fhazan Khan, Arshad Qureishi, Salman Khan and Nazim Khan all Muslims and the name of the lone Hindu youth is known as Anand Bhai. But, Anand told later that some of the above six wanted a photo of him to print it in a souvenir but it was printed in the banner without his notice.

Police seized the banner from Gwalior’s Mahrajwada locality with Pakistani flag prominently printed on it, sources said.

All seven of them were arrested under IPC section 153B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration), IG Katiyar said adding that police is probing the matter further.

Bajrang Dal, Hindu Mahasabha actvists, VHP leaders, including its state joint secretary Pappu Varma, complained to the police following which they probed the matter and took action against the accused persons.

It has been complained by the  Bajrang Dal and the Hindu Mahasabha that the Muslim processionists violated the respect of National Flag also by writing Jihadi inscription on it in the same rally of Milad-un-Nabi at Maharajwada locality with Jehadi and anti Indian slogans.

VHP leader Pappu Varma told the press that when the matter was brought to his notice on Sunday, he called up police officers at midnight  with strong protests, if action was not taken against the persons whose photographs were displayed on the banner.

In-charge of Kotwali Police Station Satish Chandra Chaturvedi said he probed the two complaints from the Hindu organisations and found that an offence had been committed. The seven people have booked under the Section 153 B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) of the IPC.

Varma, who is also associated with the Bajrang Dal, said his organisation does not want to protect Anand Bhai, the only Hindu among the accused, because he was also party to the offence by allowing his photograph to be used, knowingly or unknowingly. “We have not seen his photos wishing people on Ram Navmi,’’ said Varma and alleged that pro-Pakistani slogans were also raised during the procession.

The VHP has also demanded action against the shahar qazi alleging that the banner was displayed with his consent. “He should be booked for sedition,’’ Varma said.

The Hindu activists of Gwalior criticized the Police for their indulgence to the anti Hindu and Jihadi activities in the city. They put the question why the Police could not lodge sue motto case against such serious violations of law involving treason and subversive activities. They also questioned why police did not file any case against the intentional disrespect of National Flag.

A local news paper “Bharatmat” published a different news that the Judge of the present case Mr. H K Raghubanshi has directed the police to lodge further section of IPC 123 (concealing with intent to felicitate design to wage war) against the accused.

Perhaps writing Jehadi Kalema, ‘GAUSS-E-PAAK KI FAUJ’ and drawing Sword on the National Flag may come under the violation of law with an ulterior Islamic motivation.

Lastly, Monoj Godiya, Vishnu Sharma, raviraj, Monaj Rajak of Vajrang Dal along Dr Joyveer Bharadwaj, Rambabu Sen, Hairdas Agrwal, Harimohan Gupta and Kaushal Baghel warned the police administration for a severe Hindu agitation in Gwalior if the accused are not charged with the further IPC clauses for sedition and anti-National activities.
