HENB | Panaji | 16 Dec 2015:: The Goa state government has once again banned the Hindu right- wing organisation Sri Ram Sena from entering the entire state for a period of 60 days. The ban on Sri Ram Sena had lapsed on December 18, 2014. Both the north and south Goa district collectors issued the ban under section 144 CrPC for the period of 60 days, on and from January 16. Interestingly, this ban is being imposed upon a pro-Hindu organisation repeatedly in a state run by BJP.Both district magistrates of north and south Goa, Nila Mohanan and Venacio Furtado issued the ban order, stopping the entry of Pramod Mutalik and any of his associates/ members within the jurisdiction of the two districts from the date of this order.
The order was issued immediately after the chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar cleared the long pending file with the remark to ban the Sri Ram Sena. Critiques say that BJP is imposing this ban on Sri Ram Sene for a type of appeasement of Christian vote bank in Goa and under some critical equations hinting an increasing drug lords and pub Mafia rackets in the state.
Sri Ram Sene’s chief Pramod Muthalik has alleged that the Goa government banned his organisation at the behest of drug lords and pub mafia.
“What was the reason for Sri Ram Sene to be banned in Goa? We don’t even have an organisation or even a single member here. Has there been any violence that we have indulged in?” he asked.
“This has been done at the behest of foreign drug and pub Mafias with their Goan counterparts. Anti-nationals are allowed to come in the state but a patriot is banned.” Muthalik retaliated.
Various Hindu organisations, under the banner of National Hindu Movement (NHM) demanded that the Central and Goa governments should lift the ban imposed by the Goa BJP government on Pramod Muthalik, the founder of Sri Ram Sene.As per Free Press Journal, Sri Ram Sene will hold a meeting in Belgaum city on January 26 to finalise its plans for starting its activity in Goa, where the administration has not extended the ban imposed on it.
“A detailed strategy about when to start a branch in Goa and other things would be discussed on January 26 when the Karnataka state-level meet would be held in Belgaum,” Sene chief Pramod Muthalik said last evening.
Muthalik said he might come to Goa on January 27, a day after the meeting in Belgaum.
Earlier BJP had cancelled Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik’s membership for the BJP to seal his possible seat hunting from the Parliamentary constituency in BJP ticket in last general election in India.
