Most of the cattle were found cows and there were no medical certificates or challans for those interstate cattle transportation.
The cattle in two trucks were being taken from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar (may be from Haryana also) to Coocbehar for the purpose of illegal exportation to Bangladesh crossing the Coochbehar or Assam border under some inter-state Cow smuggling rackets. The BSF caught the 13 culprits red handed and finally handed over to WB Police for further legal proceedings.
