B Upendran | HENB | Hyderabad | Sept 9, 2016:: Where is that mole named Akbaruddin Owaisi? He must be hiding in a pig’s farm. From there he is sending his stooges to seek police help for cattle trafficking for slaughtering in Eid ul Adha. His balloon has been pricked by the cow vigilantes. He can’t shout more, “15 minute ke liye police ko hata lo, (Remove the police for 15 minutes)” . Now he and his party men consider that Police is their Baap (father). So, they are appealing to the police to manage their ‘festival of animal killings’!
Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen general secretary and Charminar MLA Ahmad Pasha Quadri on Thursday, wrote a letter to director general of police (DGP) Anurag Sharma seeking protection of cattle traders, transporting oxen and buffaloes for Bakrid (Eid-uz-Zuha), who are allegedly being harassed for certificates by police, municipal, revenue and animal husbandry officials and cattle being arbitrarily seized and moved to gaushalas (cow shelter) run by the RSS. They are also alleging that gaushalas are managed in a poor condition and Muslims move cattles in the road and keep and sell those in markets, kill those in gory jubilation all in a very good way!!
Quadri pleaded the DGP to direct policemen manning the checkposts to stop harassment of cattle traders, adding that they were imposing huge challans, registering FIRs and arresting transporters. Pasha claimed that oxen and buffaloes traders were being targeted by the cow vigilantes and urged the policemen not to act as ‘gaurakshaks in uniform.’ But as a matter of fact the police in Hyderabad and elsewhere had been acting as the friends of the illegal cattle traders due to their carve for bribe from the illegal cattle markets and from cattle loaded vehicles on roads.
On the other hand, Bharatiya Prani Mitra Sangha, Hyderabad had written to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao urging to stop transportation of cows, buffaloes, calves and oxen for slaughter on Bakrid in Hyderabad and other parts of the state.
The organisation alleged that the law enforcing agencies were not ensuring protection of cattle under the ‘AP Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act, 1977’ and ‘Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960’.
The Sri Ram Yuva Sena, another Hyderabad based Hindu Youth Forum urged the public to resist any cow or cattle sacrifice on roads or near Hindu areas publicly to avoid any clash between the cow-savers and cow eaters. Bala, an area leader of Sri Ram Yuva Sena of Goshamal unit in Hyderabad area told HENB, “It is the fundamental duties of an Indian citizen to save and rescue a dying cow or animal under Art. 51-A (g) and any public can arrest anyone under CrPC. 43 for committing his offence of non-bailable and cognizable nature. Moreover, Muslims are violating Section 28 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 in Bakar Eid rampantly, being ultra vires to Article 14, 21 and 25 of the Constitution. So, cow vigilantes are trying to protect the law of the land and police must help the cow crusaders.”
Meanwhile, Old City residents prepare to buy the biggest haul of sheep with over 4 lakh of them lined up in the Tolichowki Gachibowli stretch, moving away from the Mehdipatnam junction this year.
“In wake of ban on cow slaughter, sheeps and goats be sacrificed. Sacrifice of cow, buffalo or camel amounts to sacrifice of 7 persons and sacrifice of sheep and goat amounts to sacrifice of one person,” said Maulana Zakir Hussain. On the trend of sacrificing camels, Maulana Bashar Ali said, “The trend has gained more strength presently. This maybe due to increase in contacts with West Asia and tendencies to follow them,” he added.
