Sunita Patekar | HENB | Mumbai | Sept 23, 20916:: The echo of the voice of Late Bal Thackeray is heard once again. As a retaliation of the Uri attack, Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has threatened Pakistani actors and artists to leave India within 48 hours. Hindutva wave is now spreading in Bollywood to corner the Pakistani agents in Mumbai Film industries. These Paki agents usually talk Indo-Pak good relation, but never condemn the nefarious Pakistani conspiracy against India by spreading Islamic terror and bloody Jihad.
The threat comes from Amey Khopkar of MNS Chitrapat Sena who was quoted by ANI saying, “We give a 48 hour deadline to Pakistani actors and artists to leave India or MNS will push them out.”
Amey Khopkar further told ANI, “Pakistani kalakaar toh maar khaayenge hi, saath mein jo yahan producer/director hain unko bhi peetenge.” (The Pakistani actors will get hard slaps undoubtedly; moreover, we will beat up those producers and directors who generally help them).
Khopkar’s MNS colleague Shalini Thackeray also said at a press conference that the party will not allow Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees to hit the theatres. The former stars Fawad Khan and the latter stars Mahira Khan.
The comments from Khopkar and Thackeray come at a time when relations between the two nations are tense due to the deaths of 18 Indian soldiers at the hands of Pakistani terrorists.
Artists including Fawad Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Zafar, Mahira Khan, Imran Abbas and Mawra Hocane, among others, are actively part of Bollywood.
Fawad Khan has a number of big-ticket Bollywood projects coming up. He will next be seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, the trailer of which released today.
This is not the first time that political parties have threatened Pakistani artists to leave India. Earlier, Pakistani Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali’s concerts were cancelled in India due to Shiv Sena, MNS protests with many other Hindutvawadi organisations.
When contacted with Raj Thackeray about the expulsion of Pakistani artists from Mumbai Film industries, Raj told HENB, “Have you questioned ever anybody about the total expulsion of Hindu society from Pakistan? We can’t compromise with Pakistanis who are our enemies. They are attacking our country on regular basis. So, we are not ready anymore to host them with Biriyani, Mumbai Meethai (sweets) and other facilities”.
