Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | March 1, 2017:: It is good that in a very great jubilation, India and Israel mark the 25th anniversary of their full diplomatic relations. Israel ambassador to India Daniel Carmon has reiterated his country’s support to India on the issue of terrorism saying that no cause in the world can justify the menace. Nothing to mention that this terrorism relates to bloody Jihad which has been attacking India and Israel in a process to destroy peace and progress in both the countries.
In an interaction with media, Carmon also said that the “high visibility” to the India-Israel relationship in the past few years was important as it helped enhance bilateral engagement.
Amar Sinha, Secretary (Economic Relations) and Israeli Ambassador to India, Daniel Carmon publicized a ‘Logo’ at the launching ceremony of the ’25 Years of India-Israel Diplomatic Relations- A Growing Partnership’ event in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Speaking at an art exhibition– ‘Hodu and the Jews’– here, Mr Sinha said although both the countries have cooperation in the defence and the security sectors, “conscious” efforts are being made to make it a “multi-dimensional relationship”, and not merely “unifocal”.
Without specifically mentioning cross-border terrorism, the term India uses to describe Pakistan sponsored terrorism, Carmon said there was growing global consciousness on terrorism and security. The ‘infidel’ world is really uniting against all the forms of ‘Jihad’ and ISIS brutality.
“We believe that there’s no terrorism anywhere in the world that can be justified. The global effort to fight terrorism is important and affected countries should join hands,” said Carmon.
The ambassador said that there was increasing engagement between the 2 countries on the issue under the anti terrorism homeland security agreement which they signed 3 years ago.
While PM Narendra Modi is likely to visit Israel in June this year – the first by any Indian PM – Carmon said that more important than the timing would be the content of the visit.
This visit of Modi in Israel obviously strengthen the unique relationship between the Global Hindus and Jews in their joint effort to combat Jihadi terrorism as the root cause of inhumanity, undevelopment and war.
The grand Silver Jubilee Year of India-Israel Diplomatic Relations is highly significant to boost up the Hindu-Jews relationship to fight against Islamic culpability destroying the overall peace and progress of the human race. Both the countries face Islamic terrorism in their countries as the Jihadi elements think Jews and Hindus are two eternal enemies as envisaged in Quran and Hadith.
In this context, Indian-Israel relationship should hold a superlative potency to fight against various agents of radical Islam always try to harm the Hindus and Jews from a very communal angel.
So, the coming Modi-Netanyahu meet in Jerusalem is significant than anything in current times.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Israel by the middle of this year, a first by any Indian Prime Minister to the Jewish nation.
“What’s important is how we use the visit this year to upgrade our relationship. We are looking to use it to boost 3 important pillars of our relationship – water, innovation and increasing academic channels which promote more people to people contact,” said Carmon, as he underlined how the two countries were also important technological partners.
When asked if signing of the FTA which India and Israel are negotiating could be the big takeaway from the visit, Carmon said it may provide a “good opportunity” to conclude negotiations for the agreement.
The Modi government sees Israel as an important partner for its flagship Make in India initiative which seeks to boost manufacturing in the country. Carmon said Israel was supporting the Indian government despite the limitations of its own economy.
“Make in India is not an easy thing to absorb for an economy which is used to making in Israel. But we are doing it because of the importance we attach to our relations with India,” said Carmon, as he also mentioned how Israel was one of the first countries to engage in manufacturing in defence and irrigation systems in India.
On whether or not India had created the right conditions for manufacturing and business, Carmon said that while he had heard from companies that the business environment was more positive now, there was still work to do.
In this work list, both the Govt in India and Israel must establish an International Institution to analyse the Jihad and its consequences for making strategy to put an end of Jihad and Radical Islam.
Jews got Israel as their free land as independence declared on 14 May 1948 and got its recognition on 11 May 1949. New Delhi formally recognised Israel on September 17, 1950. Embassies were opened in 1992 when full diplomatic relations were established.
Though its a silver jubilee of establishing diplomatic relation between the India and Israel, but the cordial relation between Hindus and Jews is centuries old. India is the second home of Jews where they have never been persecuted.
