Chetna Choudhry | TNN | Mewat | Nov 6, 2017:: Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir controversy reached Mewat on Friday, when Haryana haj committee chairman received threats for advocating the temple in Ayodhya. Aurangzeb Chaudhry had recently said that Ram Mandir should be built at the Babri Masjid site. The statement didn’t go well with the Muslim fanatics who released a video on Friday threatening to kill Chaudhary.
Chaudhary has filed a police complaint after he received death threats and abuses on social media sites for supporting building Ram Mandir in Ayodhya at the disputed site. During an event organized in Mewat to mark Haryana Diwas on Wednesday, the former head of BJP Minority Morcha had said that Muslims should come forward to support the idea of building a Ram temple in place of the Babri Mosque structure. In his comments, the BJP leader had said that namaz cannot offered at a disputed site. RSS leader Indresh Kumar and chairman of the national commission for minorities Syed Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi too were present at the event.
“There are 100 crore Hindus in the country and the matter of Ram temple is related to their beliefs. Therefore temple should come up there. I did say this, but then these close-minded fanatics cannot think of them as Indians and have to divide the nation,” Chaudhary told TOI.
In his police complaint at Punhana’s Bichhor police station, Aurangzeb has even named two of the persons. “On November 2, a video went viral, where one Abu Bakr is abusing me and threatening drastic actions against me. Raunak Ali has said that if someone gives him the contract, he would shoot 12 bullets in my head,” the complaint reads.
An FIR has been reported under section 506 at Bicchor police station in Mewat.
