Hinduism is the Only Religion that Acknowledges & Celebrates Women and their Womb, Says Kangana Ranaut.

Sentinel Digital Desk | Guwahati | June 24, 2021:: During the annual Ambubachi rituals at Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut yesterday spoke about the significance of the Hindu festival.

The divisive Bollywood actress, known for her erratic outbursts, expresses her feelings about what the Hindu festival represents.

According to Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, Hinduism is the only religion that acknowledges and celebrates women and their sexuality.

“The annual Ambubachi rituals at Assam’s Kamakhya temple in Guwahati began today let’s not forget Hinduism is the only religion that not only accepts and embraces woman and her sexuality but also places Shakti (power) above all in the universe and celebrates her womb,” opined Kangana Ranaut on her Facebook post on the annual celebration of Ambubachi ritual at Guwahati’s Kamakhya Temple, one of the holiest religious site for devout Hindus.

Kamakhya is the world’s sole place of worship where a woman’s genitals, ovaries, and reproductive organs are worshipped, said the Bollywood actress. “I have visited the temple. Temple idols is woman’s reproductive organ carved on a stone, established in a cave signifying the experience of womb… Spectacular. Jai devi,” she wrote.

When she was growing up as an atheist, the actress said she used to read holy texts of various religions only to discover that such doctrines either objectify women or represent them as the major evil of the world and the source of original sin.

“I was shocked , as young woman my psyche was deeply hurt and injured , then I turned to Hinduism I understood the significance of Devi Panchali ( Draupadi) who is one wife to five remarkable great men is our acceptance for woman’s superior biology or admiration for ferocious Durga and ruthless chandi, worshipping woman’s womb in Kamakhya or Radha, Seeta , Parvati, playing catalyst roles in the awakening of Gods ….. I chose to be a Hindu …. because Shakti is the only truth.” said the Bollywood actress.

Love her, loathe her, and some even ignore her, but one thing is certain: no matter what the controversial queen of Bollywood says, she never goes unnoticed. She has frequently been on the radar of social media trolls for her outspoken stances, whether on the inner workings of the Bollywood industry, politics, or religion.

Ambubachi Mela is an annual festival at Assam’s Kamakhya Temple during the month of Monsoon, or ‘Ahaar’ in Assamese dialect. The event commemorates the menstrual period of the Hindu goddess Ma Kamakhya, also known as Ma Shakti, who devotees believe dwells in the temple.

Every year, thousands of devotees from India and around the world travel to the Kamakhya temple to mark the occasion, but owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the celebrations have been canceled for the second year in a row. The annual Ambubachi rites at Guwahati’s Assam Kamakhya Temple began Wednesday, with priests symbolically sealing the shrine’s doors for four days.
