Upendra Bharti | HENB | Karnavati (Ahmedabad) | March 14, 2022:: A three-day meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the top decision-making body of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), concluded in Ahmedabad of Gujarat on Sunday.
The closed-door event held (March 11-13, 2022) at Pirana village was participated by nearly 1,200 key leaders or office-bearers from across the country, including Sarsanghchalak (RSS chief) Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah (Gen Secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale.
Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, after the conclusion of the three-day All India Pratinidhi Sabha of RSS, said that there is a need for an ideological fight for a proper interpretation of Hindutva.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has decided to fight the battle to strengthen India’s discourse, accusing it of spreading misconceptions against Hindutva as part of a conspiracy. The Sangh has said that it will present a true picture by countering the conspiracy to deliberately spread misconceptions in the context of Hindutva in India and abroad.
There is a need to bring out a correct picture about India’s Hindu society, culture, history, way of life here. Due to ignorance and deliberately spreading misconceptions about India in the country and abroad, there is a conspiracy for a long time. The Sangh’s plan is to change this ideological discourse.
“We want a change in this ideological discourse,” he said. There is a need to change the ideological discourse. In this, there is a need to carry forward the right discourse by including a fact-based understanding of India. Many researches have been done in this regard. Books have been written. The Sangh will take their help to take this discourse forward.
Setting the target of expansion
In the three-day meeting, the target of expanding the Sangh in various areas has been set. Hosbale said that the centenary year of the Sangh is approaching. The Sangh plans an extension every three years.
Sangh work has reached 50 percent of the mandals across the country, a target has been set to deliver work in all the mandals in the coming two years and a plan has also been made. In urban areas, 45 percent habitations have union work, a target has been fixed to take it to all habitations in two years.
Goal to explore society’s inner power
Sarkaryavah said, the purpose of the Sangh is not whether the number of shakhas has increased or not. It is also not our aim to increase the strength of the Sangh. Our aim is to bring inner strength in the society. At present every volunteer of the Sangh is in all the basti and mandals of the country. Our aim is to advance the national spirit. Our goal is to create social unity, harmony, organization spirit.
Positive change is necessary in the society
Hosbale said that the Sangh is not involved in any round of contest. We do not want the Sangh to be ahead in any phase such contest. We want positive change to happen on our initiative with the help of the forces of society. The Sangh wants to make the work of change in the society a social movement. The Sangh wants to make one village in each district a model village. At present, work is being done in 400 such villages, which have been named as Prabhat village.
Religious freedom has been given to all but there is a need to strike a balance.
In the year 2025, before the centenary year celebrations of the RSS, 1,252 office bearers and members participated in the meeting of this Pratinidhi Sabha. Talking to reporters on the last day of the meeting, Sarkaryavah Hosabale of the RSS also referred to the hijab controversy in Karnataka.
He said religious freedom has been given to all, but a balance needs to be struck about its implementation. It is not right to carry out religious freedom under the guise of the Constitution.
Nothing will be tolerated against the culture and tradition of India
Hosbale said that in the three-day meeting of the House of Representatives, after Corona, changes in the field of education and employment were also discussed. During this he said that ‘Jai Shri Ram’ is a way of greeting, and even foreigners visiting India say so. If people oppose it, then children, their parents should question them. It is natural that the society will not tolerate if anything goes against the cultural tradition of India.
Report of Progression
Earlier in the meeting placed reports convey: The RSS runs nearly 60,000 daily shakhas (branches) across the country and 97.5 per cent shakhas have started functioning again after the easing of Covid-19 related restrictions.
“Those who attend these 60,000 shakhas constitute 61 per cent of school or college students. This shows that the number of youths taking interest in the RSS is increasing. Ninety-four per cent of the total 2,303 cities in the country have shakhas. It shows that our spread is increasing,” Manmohan Vaidya, Sah Sarkaryavah (joint general secretary) of the RSS said.
“There are 59,000 mandals in the country. Each mandal comprises 10 to 12 villages. In the next two years, the RSS will try to expand its base and work for establishing shakhas in all the mandals. Our work in that direction came to a standstill due to coronavirus. Now we are planning to achieve it during the next two years,” the senior RSS functionary said.
Apart from those joining the RSS through shakhas, a significant number of people are expressing their interest in becoming a part of it through the “Join RSS” campaign being run on the organisation’s website, according to Vaidya.
