Bangali Hindus opposed ‘ill efforts’ of offering Dura Puja Puspanjali in Bangla.

Sankirtan Das | HENB | Kolkata | Oct 2, 2022:: It is not clearly know that how much influence of WB CM Mamata Banerjee-  who is infamous for her chanting Durga hymns on the stage in a very erroneous manner, inaugurating Durga Puja in Pitripaksha without waiting for Devipaksha or pulling the rope of Rathayatra without putting off her sandals and depicting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans as ‘galgali’ (filthy abuses)- has been effected on the initiative of ‘chantbangla.org’ to offer Mahashtami Puspanjali (flower offerings) during this Durgapuja.

The so called intellectuals of TMC-CPIM-ISLAMIST in West Bengal go hand to hand to demoralize Sanatan Puja Paddhati in Sanskrit so that Hindus can easily be entrapped in the faithlessness in their own culture and heritage.

The Bengali rendering of the Durga puja hymns have been compiled in a book, which has been distributed among the puja committees of Kolkata. The Sanskrit verses are also there in the book side by side, said Srimanta Choudhury who is the head of the campaign, initiated by a group of Bengali techies living abroad.

In this row of wanton efforts to dilute the significance of ‘Devabhasha Sanskrit’ in Sanatan Hindu Puja Padhhati (ritual system); the conspirators, ‘chantbangla.org’ and ‘Sangbad Pratidin’ took the help of two paid intellectual viz. writer Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri, linguist Pabitra Sarkar and a priest (Brahmin) Kaliprasanna Bhattacharya.

“The devotion lies in the heart and not in the language in which the shlokas are chanted. It is always better to offer the prayers in a language, which we know and understand, rather than saying it in Sanskrit with half of the meaning not understood by us,” Bhaduri told PTI.

However, it is not clear how chanting Durga hymns in Sanskrit can cease ‘the devotion lies in the heart’.

The Durga Puja rituals on Maha Ashtami — the second day of the four-day festival, including Pushpanjali (flower offerings )and Sandhi Puja (auspicious equinox of Mahastami and Mahanavami), are considered to be the most significant ones and are conducted in Sanskrit, also called ‘Dev Bhasha’ or the divine language, but ‘chantbangla.org’ and ‘Sangbad Pratidin’ hatched a conspiracy against traditional Durga Puja of Bengali Hindus in India and abroad.

The ‘chantbangla’ claims ‘Around 250 Durga Puja committees in West Bengal will be conducting the rituals in Bengali this year’. From a check it has been revealed that all the 250 Durga Puja committees are influenced by the ruling Trinamool Congress party as they got Rs 60,000/- from the state govt. and most of these Durga Puja committees are led by local TMC leaders.

Now, there is huge repercussion in the social media and ground level against this ill effort of ‘chantbangla’ and sangbad pratidin’ to demoralize the ‘Sanskrit’ Puja Paddhati in Durga Puja.

Dr Rakesh Das, Assistant Professor in Department of Sanskrit and Philosophy of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur Math has objected such effort of Durga Puja excluding Sanskrit hymns and system.

“All the movements, all the attacks, all the revolutions of the left wing intellectuals in India are against Hindu culture. In the discovery of various half-truths, untruths, they invented a beautiful Nazi, Goebbelsian theory of assigning some imaginary fault to all the ancient customs of Hindu society”, Dr Das expressed his opinion in the current row.

In his article, Dr Das narrated the present row of introducing Bangla hyms in Durga Puja is nothing but a ‘Communist-Islamist conspiracy’ which tried to defame Hindu ritual systems in many counts in their previous efforts.

Expressing their resentment for the anti-Sanatan and anti-Sanskrit effort of ‘Bengali Puspanjali’ in Durgapuja; Sanskrita Bharati and Bharat Sevashram Sangha jointly published a flyer of ‘Puspanjali Mantra’ in Sanskrit (in Bengali script) and appealed everybody to adhere the traditional way of Durga Puja Paddhati in Sanskrit.

A senior monk of Belur Math- Ramakrishna Mission attached to traditional Durga Puja there (nearly 125 yrs old) as initiated by Swami Vivekananda himself told HENB,  “There is no question to play childish in Durga Puja, we will maintain the traditional way of Durga Puja in Sanskrit”.
