West Bengal: Bharat Sevashram Sangha Procession attacked by Jihadi Forces at Aurangabad in Murshidabad. Monks gave deputation and protested at Suti Police Station. 

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Kolkata | March 29, 2023:: The annual procession of century-old Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) for Basanti Puja was attacked on March 27 by Jihadi Forces at Aurangabad in Murshidabad as reports came in late. Though there was adequate police arrangement to save the peaceful procession, the Jihadi elements started stone and brick pelting on the procession desperately from the nearby rooftops adjacent to Nimtita Mosque near Netaji xing as reported. The police on duty there almost remained silent and failed to save the situation. Many devotees in the procession were badly injured and one image of Sangha Founder Swami Pranavananda was broken down into pieces.

The scared devotees in the procession were scattered and the procession was stopped to return to the Ashram anyway.

Last year, the Jihadi forces also attacked the BSS procession of Aurangabad and the Sangha monks requested the police and local administration to take adequate security measures this year.

Pained with this incident the monks and devotees of BSS gave several deputations in silent protest to the Police and Administration to take strong steps to nab the culprits along with elaborate security arrangements for the four Sangha branches in the district and 12 other Hindu Milan Mandirs.

Speaking to the reporters in front of Suti Police station, Swami Pradiptananda (M- +91 – 95642 – 75907), the in-charge of Aurangabad branch of BSS conveyed, “Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a world-famous philanthropic organization provides all its humanitarian services without caste, creed, and religion. The Sangha provides education and health services to all regardless of political or communal colour. It is a fact, the BSS schools have  70% of students from the minority community and many from tribal communities also. But, it is unfortunate that the programmes of the Sangha are being attacked by a particular section of people. The police and administration must look into the matter seriously and culprits must the punished without delay.”
