Mumbai Harassment Case: Hindu Woman Accuses Muslim Coworker of Sending Explicit Content.

Hindu Woman Files Harassment Complaint Against Muslim Colleague in Mumbai; Accused Ashraf Arrested.

After allegedly sending explicit content, the accused reportedly stated that he would not ask her to leave her Hindu faith or prevent her from wearing a Kalava or visiting temples.

Hridya Bharti | HENB | Mumbai | April 25, 2026:: A 19-year-old Hindu woman from Agripada, Mumbai, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) alleging harassment by a Muslim colleague, who has since been arrested by the police.

According to the complaint, the woman was employed as a telecaller at a company located in the Mahalakshmi area, where she came into contact with the accused through her work. She stated that although they were acquainted in a professional setting, they did not engage in direct conversation. The accused allegedly obtained her contact number from a company WhatsApp group and subsequently began sending her inappropriate and explicit content.

In her statement, the complainant said that after acquiring her number, the accused sent her vulgar videos and photographs. She further alleged that he repeatedly suggested the possibility of marriage, stating that he would not require her to renounce her Hindu faith, nor prevent her from wearing a Kalava or visiting temples.

The accused, identified as Ashraf Siddiqui, was tracked by law enforcement officials using location data and detained for questioning. Following the registration of the FIR, he was formally arrested. Police have also seized his mobile phone as part of the ongoing investigation.

Officials stated that the accused is expected to undergo a medical examination before being produced in court, in accordance with legal procedure. Authorities are currently examining digital evidence, including messages and call records, to establish the sequence of events and verify the allegations.

The victim’s family has expressed support for her decision to file the complaint. Police have emphasized that the matter is being treated with seriousness and that all claims are being investigated thoroughly in line with due process.

Further action in the case will depend on the findings of forensic and electronic evidence collected during the course of the investigation.

In India, such targeting of Hindu women in the workplace by their Muslim colleagues is now more evident after the Nashik TCS BPO religious coercion and sexual harassment case surfaced very recently.
