An Indian Hindu leader urged for Global Hindu Solidarity.

Posted by hinduexistence on August 30, 2010

An Interview with Tapan Ghosh, President of Hindu Samhati in America.

1. Please tell us something about you and your organization.

I have been associated with organizing Hindu relief and resistance in many parts of India over the last three decades, including spending some time in Kashmir where Hindus have suffered the worst onslaught of Islamic extremism in recent years. My past experience in Jammu and Kashmir taught me that it was not only the Kalashnikov wielding militants that drove Hindus out of their homes; it was also their nondescript Muslim neighbors who largely turned a blind eye and refused to provide any support to their Hindu brethren. When I moved back to West Bengal several years back, I realized that the demographic changes in Assam and W. Bengal bordering Bangladesh are alarming and that Hindus are migrating out of their villages in large numbers. The events of Direct Action Day (Kolkata, 1946), massacre in Noakhali (Oct.1946), communal riots in 1947 and genocide of Hindus in 1971 might be [for detailed reports of Indian Panorama Pl Click here] forgotten events in modern Bengal. But, if Islamic religious extremism cannot be countered today, nothing can stop another holocaust against the Hindus in the near future. It is with this vision that Hindu Samhati was founded in 2008. Today, we are a fast growing, grass-roots organization with completely non-political agenda and strength of over 15,000 volunteers.

2. What type of atrocities are Hindus facing in West Bengal? (Please write in details)

The atrocities that Hindus are facing in villages bordering Bangladesh are multifarious. The case of massive illegal infiltration is well known today. What the people of India and USA don’t know is their activities. This includes crime targeted against Hindu women; from relatively small cases of eve-teasing and harassment, to sexual assault, rape, kidnapping and forced conversion to Islam. Incidences of illegal migrants encroaching upon Hindu lands as well as organized land grabbing by Islamic criminal network by the likes of Majid Master & Arabul Islam in N. 24 Parganas, is also very common. There is also a sharp increase in cases of rioting during Hindu festivals, destruction of Temples and desecration of Deities; large scale provocative cow slaughter during Hindu festivals in Hindu majority localities is also on the rise. Construction of large, illegal mosques, often upon encroached land, is happening in all border areas and has changed the landscape of rural Bengal. While establishment of massive Saudi funded Madrasas across rural Bengal is only contributing to the growing religious extremism among Muslims, implementation of Sharia laws by Chalasi (Islamic) courts is quite prevalent in villages in Malda, Murshidabad and North Dinajpur districts. Finally, the Indo-Bangla border acts as a major conduit for smuggling by the terrorist network and have grave consequences for national security. As a result of growing Islamization of rural Bengal, Hindus are leaving the border area villages. This change in demography is well established in Assam, and I fear that the upcoming census will paint a grimmer scenario in W. Bengal too. Calls for a greater Muslim Bangla are not unheard of in Muslim majority districts and my greatest fear is the day when Muslim zealots will give a call for Nara-e-taqbir and tell Hindus to either convert or leave Bengal. Where will we go then?

2a. What kind of threats are you receiving and from whom?

Hindu Samhati workers face opposition from local political parties, who resent our rising influence in the community. Law enforcement agencies threaten our workers in areas where they face tremendous pressure from political bigwigs.

Personally, I am a prime target of Jihadi elements in areas where our work disrupts their activities.

3. India being a secular country and Bengal being a Marxist-ruled state, how all these are happening?
While India is constitutionally secular, it is also an electoral democracy which means that politicians care about winning elections and cannot ignore 31% of the Bengali Muslim population that are believed to vote en-masse. So, while Kerala CM and a Marxist Mr. Achyutanandan is forced to admit that there is a greater conspiracy to convert Kerala into a Muslim majority state by overt and covert means in 20 years, Bengal CM Mr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has to remain silent eyeing state elections in May, 2011. But it is not that the politicians are asleep, it is the middle class Bengalis that are in deep slumber. The entire Bengali intelligentsia and culturally enriched Bengali society could not provide protection to one Muslim lady, Ms. Taslima Nasreen, a poet and an intellectual who dared to raise her voice against Islamic fundamentalism. Do you really think anyone in modern Bengal is concerned about upholding secularism or free speech? We may be too proud to admit this, but a large section of the Bengali  Hindu society has confused tolerance with cowardice and inaction.

4. What is the role of Congress and Trinamool, Mamta Banerjee in particular? Are they silent for losing the minority vote bank?
The Congress, Trinamool, CPI(M) and all other political parties are either willfully ignorant or outright pro-Muslim in their attitude when it comes to communal situations. With an exploding Islamic population in West Bengal and their pattern to vote en-masse, the Muslim vote can no longer be ignored by any political party. It is now well known that the recent surge in the popularity of Ms. Mamata Banerjee, especially after Nandigram, is largely due to the shifting support of the Muslim community. So, while the Trinamool is going all out to win their support, the CPI(M) too is leaving no stone unturned to win them back. This includes the recent overtures to start Muslim reservations in jobs and educational institutions, which of course, we have been vehemently opposing. Under the current situation and with a divided voting pattern, the Hindus have no one to approach.

5. What role is the media playing?
The role of media, generally speaking, varies from being a passive onlooker, to being outright anti-Hindu. Let me give a fairly recent example regarding the meek surrender of the Bengali media to this extremism. When Islamic zealots ransacked the office of renowned newspaper, ‘The Statesman’ in Kolkata, in retaliation to a mere reproduction of an article originally written by Johann Hari for The Independent (UK), the silence in Bengali press, and for that matter national media, was deafening. Any reader of the article would know that there was nothing, even remotely, derogatory against Islam and the article simply denounced religious extremism. In the end, while editor Ravindra Kumar and publisher Anand Sinha were arrested for offending Muslim sentiments, no action was taken against the rioters. Where was the freedom of press then? Now, we all know what happens when Hindu organizations protest against the Press, the news channels repeat the same footage for days at a time. While violence against the press cannot be condoned, then why the double standards? As a general rule, while many Muslims resort to rioting at the slightest provocation, no one in the media wants to report these incidents to preserve the so-called “communal harmony” and for fear of being labeled “communal”.

In fact, I have a strong suspicion, that a section of the media receives money from the Islamic Mafia, through overflow budgets for thousands of Mosques and Madrassas that are funded by Middle Eastern countries.

6. What initiative are you taking?
Our stand is quite clear and it is to openly and if necessary forcibly, defend the Hindus reeling under Muslim aggression in the districts bordering Bangladesh. Even though the police is usually a meek observer under political directive, we always involve the law enforcement agencies, including regularly petitioning them with our grievances. One of our main goals is to resist attack on women, especially minor girls, because the inability to protect the honor of womenfolk is the most important reason why Hindus are forced to migrate out of their village. We are also actively engaged in repatriating and rehabilitating victims of rape, sex trafficking and forced conversion by marriage and making them more acceptable to the Hindu society at large.  In addition to this, we provide financial and legal assistance to victims of communal riots, arson, land grabbing, and property and temple destruction. However, being village oriented grass-roots organization, our funds are very limited and we look forward to people’s help in this regard. And since the Bengali media is not very helpful, we are doing our best to spread awareness on how the Hindus are suffering everyday. The Hindu Samhati blog and website has all these details in English and Bengali.

7. What is the purpose of your USA trip?
The purpose of my visit is in sync with the aspirations of Hindu Samhati, that spreading awareness and raising concerted opposition to the advances of Islamic expansionism, is critical to the survival of secular, liberal democracies like India and much of the western civilization, including United States. People from India and the United States must realize that the war on Islamic terrorism cannot be won without curbing religious extremism among Muslims, be it in the suburbs of Chicago or Delhi or villages in rural Bengal. And this will require the active support and cooperation with each other ranging from cooperation at the highest level to those who work at the grassroots level. In this time of need, we must help and support each other with all possible resources at our disposal.

8. Are you sharing your stories here? with whom?
The purpose of my trip here is primarily to spread awareness about the current, ongoing religious tensions in rural Bengal among the Indian diaspora and seek their help and suggestion on how to best serve the population of Bengal. I will greatly treasure the opportunity that I had to meet a wide background of people, from non-resident Bengalis to US politicians, policy makers and other well wishing Indians and Americans. We have had a phenomenal response to the work done by our volunteers in the villages. Most agree that the situation is alarming and responded very positively to help in any way they can.

9. What kind of reaction are you getting here?
I am overwhelmed by the support and concern showed by the local community. I regret that I could not visit Hindu Samhati supporters in Altanta, Dallas and the Bay Area.

10. Tell us something about your experience in Chicago.

Chicago is a very beautiful place, and I always dreamt of being here one day. As you may know, this is the place where Swami Vivekananda attended the Parliament of Religions in 1893, and started a long lasting relation between the Hindu ethos and Western civilization, that continues to grow to this day. We had a meeting at the Manav Seva Mandir with the local Hindu American community. I also met the Press with whom I could share my concerns and initiatives. I am with the response I got in Chicago. Protests erupt as Hindus are served beef in flood camps in Pakistan

Posted by hinduexistence on August 26, 2010

Again beef is served to Hindus by Muslim Moles to nullify Hindutva in trouble.

Beef protest at Pak flood camp

– Tribal groups furious after meat served for dinner

Islamabad, Aug. 22, 2010: Several hundred Hindus protested at a flood relief camp in Karachi last night after being served beef for dinner.

Officials said there were about 4,000 flood victims from various faiths in the camp. The Hindu inmates are mostly from the Scheduled Caste Baagri and Waghari tribes who live in and around Keamari town in Sindh province.

A large number of women, with the traditional tattoos on their faces and wearing heavy silver ornaments and colourful lehengas, came out of their tents with their children and demanded to be shifted somewhere else.

“We are Hindus and consumption of beef is prohibited in our religion; but we were given beef, which is unacceptable,” a flood victim, Mohan Baagri, told reporters.

Minority affairs ministry officials rushed to the camp to resolve the issue.

“It was a misunderstanding. The food was for residents of the camp, but the authorities were not aware of their faith. However, they will now be given ration so they can cook their own food,” a senior ministry official, Dara Kazi, told reporters.

He said the officials of his department were also visiting other camps to see if Hindus or other minorities were there. “If minorities are found in other camps, we will provide them food according to their beliefs.”

Javaid Sabagatullah Mahar, who is in charge of the camp, confirmed that some flood victims had protested. “Now members of the Hindu community in the camp are being given ration separately,” he said.

Baagris and Wagharis are experts at farming, especially of vegetables, pulses and fruit. They usually work in the upper districts of Sindh province.

These tribes had been peasants with their own farmland on the edge of the Waghari river in India’s Maharashtra for centuries. After a severe drought under British rule, they moved to Sindh province, where Pakistan’s Hindu population is concentrated.

Till 1947, most Hindus in present-day Pakistan were highly educated and economically advantaged urban residents. However, most of them migrated to India after Partition. The 1998 census counted 24 lakh Hindus in Pakistan.

New phenomenon of “saffron terrorism” to abuse the Hindu Organisations

Posted by hinduexistence on August 26, 2010

Is Indian Home Minister still under the Pressure Of Christian Sonia Gandhi ?

By using the term ‘saffron terror’, Chidambaram has directly targeted the Hindus.

Perhaps under the pressure from a Catholic Sonia Gandhi, the UPA Chair person and the guiding force of ruling Congress party in India to equate the uncontrollable Jihadi Islamic Force and the Separatist Christian-Maoist nexus with the right wing pro-active Hindu force in India, the Indian Home Minister P.C. Chidambaram gifted a new idea of SAFFRON TERRORISM amdist the celebration of Onam in South India. He was hinting about Malegaon and Samjhota blast where no evidences were proved so far against any Hindu Force in reality. Still  warning that there has been no let-up in attempts to radicalise the youth, Home Minister P Chidambaram today said a new phenomenon of “saffron terrorism” has now come to the fore.

Inaugurating a conference of chiefs of police forces of the country, Chidambaram also expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir Valley and hoped that in the next few days, a “starting point” would be found to reach out to protestors and restart the process for a dialogue.

“There is no let-up in the attempts to radicalise young men and women in India. Besides, there is recently uncovered phenomenon of saffron terrorism that has been implicated in many bomb blasts of the past,” he said.

“When this Home Minister of India is completely failure to control over the Kashmir, North East and Maoist terrorists backed by Muslim and Christian fundamental force, he wanted to misguide the Indian mass by introducing such Utopian idea of Saffron Terrorism. P.C. should resign immediately as he cannot bypass the unreasonable imprisonment of Hindu saints like Sadhvi  Pranjna or Swami Dayananda and the very belated arrest of PDF leader A.B. Naseer Madani, a notorious Muslim criminal of Coimbatore Blast”, a senior Hindu  saint from Hanumangarhi Ayodhya expressed his reaction over the issue on line .

BJP hits out at Chidambaram’s ‘saffron terror’ remark

Reacting to the statement, BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said: “The country is witnessing a lot of chaos. Chidambaram needs an excuse to divert the attention of the nation.

“The government, led by Sonia Gandhi (United Progressive Alliance chairperson), Manmohan Singh (prime minister) and Chidambaram, has messed up on every front, whether it is international dialogue, disturbances in Kashmir, leftwing extremism or the Commonwealth Games.

“They are now trying to divert the attention of the nation,” he alleged.

Stating that terrorism was not linked to any religion, Rudy accused the government of targeting Hindus.

“Terrorism cannot be attached to any religion. Individuals may be terrorists,” he said. “By using the term ‘saffron terror’, he has directly targeted the Hindus. It is part of the government’s appeasement policy.”

The Hindu leaders from many corners of India narrated the matter as a gimmick to scape-goat the Hindu Force in the days of up-roar over the unforeseen situation in the pretext of the delivery of the Ramjanmabhoomi verdict by the designated court in Uttar Pradesh in the next month.

1,200-year old temple restored to its original beauty

Posted by hinduexistence on August 25, 2010

The Kailasanathar temple at Uttaramerur as it was in May 2008.

REACH Foundation, an NGO, behind this massive conservation effort of restoration of Kailasanathar temple at Uttaramerur.

CHENNAI: The change that has come over the 1,200-year old Kailasanathar temple at Uttaramerur, about 90 km from Chennai, is unbelievable. The temple, which was in total ruins, with dense vegetation growing over its vimana (the tower above the sanctum) and collapsed mantapas, looks as good as new today. The vimana has been restored to its original beauty, its broken stucco figurines re-created, the foundation’s granite stones re-stitched and the fallen mantapas re-erected. REACH Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, was behind this massive restoration and conservation effort.

“There were many challenges in this restoration and conservation work,” said T. Satyamurthy, founder of the Foundation and former Superintending Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India, who led the efforts. He said: “We overcame the challenges. The vimana has been conserved and restored, using as much as possible international techniques. The front mantapa, which had completely collapsed, stands majestically again. The arthamantapa has been re-assembled. The entire structure has been water-tightened. Not a drop of water can enter it now.”

The restoration process, which began on June 3, 2008, yielded a bonanza. Six inscriptions, one of Aditya Chola, (regnal years 871 – 907 CE), three of Rajendra Chola (regnal years 1012-1044 CE), one belonging to the Vijayanagara king Krishnadevaraya (early 16th century CE) and another of the late Vijayanagara period were found. A beautiful sculpture of a young bull (Nandi) and bas reliefs of Tamil Saivite saints Sundarar, Tirugnana Sambandar and Appar were among the other discoveries. Ballustraded steps of the Pallava period were excavated. ( The Hindu, June 1 and November 20, 2008).

This Kailasanathar temple was built by the Pallava king Dantivarman towards the end of the 8th century CE. It was “a Mahaprasada,” that is, “a great temple.”

The sanctum sanctorum was built with two walls -inner and outer running around it, with an intervening space, called the sandhara type. The vimana rose over the inner wall. Thus the inner wall bore the entire weight of the vimana which was built of bricks. A solid shikara crowned the vimana. With dense vegetation including a tree growing over the vimana, its bricks had cracked on three sides. On the northern side, the crack was three-foot wide.

Masons working on the restored vimana of the temple.

The cracks had dislodged the vimana’s beautiful stucco figurines, which had fallen. The plinth’s granite slabs had moved from their positions. Dr. Satyamurthy said, “The cracks in the vimana posed a major problem.

The challenge was whether to keep the plinth as it is or reconstruct it completely by dismantling its stone members and re-assembling them. We were not sure whether the plinth will bear the weight of the vimana.” The staff and students of the Civil Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, stitched the plinth’s granite slabs with mild steel. They tested a few slabs by providing the same stress on them as the vimana would have. They found that the stitching would bear the vimana’s weight.

The front mantapa, built by the Vijayanagara rulers, had collapsed because it had no proper footing. In re-erecting it, all its old members were used. “This was a redeeming feature,” said P.N. Subramanian, trustee, REACH Foundation.

V. Venkatakrishnan, agriculturist from Uttraramerur, provided the finance for the restoration by selling his land. Although the peepul tree, which had grown over the vimana, had damaged it, it had its own use. A woman devotee bought it and transplanted it in an ashram’s premises.

“We successfully restored the brick vimana by using lime plaster which was accepted by it. If we had used cement, it would have rejected it,” explained Dr. Satyamurthy.

Murals of reclining Shiva, Nataraja with 20 arms found at Thrissur temple

Posted by hinduexistence on August 24, 2010

SURPRISE FIND:The mural of Nataraja with 20 arms at the Vadakkumnathan temple in Thrissur.

The two rare paintings on Nataraja about 350 years old, have been found by ASI

A. Srivathsan||The Hindu

THRISSUR: An ASI study of 600 panels of murals in Kerala has revealed paintings that were hitherto covered, and also new details of the existing ones. Notable among them are the two rare paintings which are about 350 years old — a reclining Shiva and a Nataraja with 20 arms found on the walls of Vadakkumnathan temple at Thrissur.

“For long this painting was thought to be a reclining Vishnu, since it was partly covered with soot. Another reason is that a reclining figure is usually associated with Vishnu and it is common in Kerala to paint Vaishnavaite themes in Saivaite temples. When we cleaned the painting, the details became evident and we could establish that it is a reclining Shiva [Panivarai Siva] with Parvati, Ganga and other attendant deities. This is a rare panel,” said M. Nambirajan, Superintending Archaeologist of the Archaeological Society of India, Thrissur circle.

“Adjacent to this panel, another one depicting Nataraja also held a surprise. This panel is considered unusual since it is portrayed with 16 arms. Our study has revealed that there are more arms to it than what were known before. This Nataraja actually has 20 arms and carries various objects,” says Mr. Nambirajan.

This study, which commenced in 2008, looked at paintings spread over six temples, which include Chemmanthitta and Peruvanam, in and around Thrissur. These temples are under ASI protection.

The Ramayana Gallery at the Mattancherry Palace in Kochi.

The study also includes paintings in the Mattancherry Palace, Kochi.

“Though there are no labels to establish the date of these paintings, stylistically the work can be placed between the 15 {+t} {+h} and 18 {+t} {+h} centuries. At a few places, paintings done over different periods can also be found. The popular themes, apart from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, are the Kiratarjunya and Krishna Leela,” said S. Suresh, archaeologist and convener of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Tamil Nadu chapter, who was commissioned by the ASI for assisting it in the study.

“The paintings at the Pallimanna temple are an exception. One of the panels carries a label in an old Malayalam script, which gives the date of the paintings there as early 17 {+t} {+h} century, and even mentions the name of the artist and his teacher,” says Mr. Suresh.

Such a study was not undertaken earlier because most of the paintings are located within temples that are still under worship. Extensive documentation was difficult.

Many of the paintings face conservation problems. They are often covered with soot emanating from ritual lamps. Suggestions such as placing a plastic or glass cover have not been received well.

“A critical problem facing some of the paintings, particularly the one at Thriprayar, comes from Vedi Vazhipadu or bursting of crackers. Frequent blasts create vibration and produce soot that deposits on the paintings,” says Mr. Suresh.

“We are regularly cleaning the paintings and will come up with long-term plans to preserve them. Our objective is also to sensitise other temple authorities in Kerala to protect the rare paintings they have rather than erasing or redrawing them,” says Mr. Nambirajan.

Suddhi Yajna (Purification by Fire Offerings) held in Chatra, West Bengal.

Posted by hinduexistence on August 23, 2010

Suddhi Yajna (Purification Rituals) held in Chatra, North 24 Pargans in West Bengal by Hindu Samhati.

On 4th July, 2010 at Chatra Sutanuti Par under Baduria Police Station a miscreant and communal Muslim family served beef to four Hindu children in their family rituals by trick. After eating beef the children were joked and humiliated by the host Muslim family. As per Hindu belief Beef is a negated food. With the spread of such obnoxious and filthy attitude the local Hindus got furious. They protested the matter vehemently and reported the local authorities with no result. Consequently the aggrieved Hindu people contacted with Hindu Samhati (HS) local unit and the Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) H.Q. at Kolkata. Hindus of the areas also cautioned the Muslims for their unethical activities.

On 16th August, 2010 the Hindu Samhati organized a big Hindu Jagaran Sabha and protest rally with a Suddhi Yajna (Purification Rituals) by the saints of BSS. A huge number of local Hindus participated the whole function to make it a grand success. Over 1000 Hindus joined the function to show their solidarity against any humiliation against Hindus.

HS leader Ajit Adhikary reached the spot with HS activists to protect any untoward incidents on the day of Hindu Jagaran Sabha on 16th from the starting. HS leaders Avijit Das (Bangaon), Dulal Sardar (Machlandapur) gave a short speech narrating the crisis of Hindus under a Muslim majority.

Sri Tarun Netai Das of ISKCON told that Muslims are habituated with such filthy activities and conspiracy. He gave many examples to strengthen his speech. Sri Das categorically said that in such an ignorant fault of children, the Dharma cannot be injured or affected anyway. Chanting of Hare Krishna can purify all the imperfection and fault of any thing.

Swami Suvorupanandaji of Bharat Sevashram Sangha told Muslims have been trying to dismantle the Hindu Unity and Rights from the very beginning. After getting the Pakistan the Muslims should go to Pakistan and have no right to disturb or destroy the Hindu rights. If the Muslims still do not believe the greatness of Hindus or try to understand the nature of co-existence and harmony of Indian philosophy, they should vacate this holy land of Bharat and can go to their pak land Pakistan. The Swami urged the Hindu youth to show their valour and fighting spirit against the anti Hindu conspiracy. Swami Anishananda of Hindu Milan Mondir Central Committee of BSS also addressed the huge crowd present in the meeting.

Prakash Das of Hindu Samhati delivered a very sensational speech over the situation of refugee Hindus of Bangladesh facing Islamic torture in the border districts of West Bengal. The local Hindu Women leaders viz. Sikha Biswas and Bidhu Sikdar and the Mothers of the related families also supported in their speech, the cause of such Hindu Social Congregation for the unity of Hindu Soceity.

Upananda Brahmachari, Vice President of Hindu Samhati assured that Hindu Samhati will be fighting unto last to restore the dignities of Bengali Hindus of the West Bengal in every situation of crisis of Hindus. He emphasized over the unity of all Hindu Organizations to tackle such situation of Hindus. He said the Chatra Hindu Jagaran Sabha has a great importance as BHARAT SEVASHRAM SANGHA, ISKCON and  HINDU SAMHATI jointly took the challenge to defeat the Islamic conspiracy in Bengal and India too.

After the purification rituals the four children were embraced and blessed by the Saints and Brahmacharins present in the function. Avijit Mishra of Hindu Samhati (Chatra Unit) conducted the meeting very befittingly. All the Hindu Devotees present in the function was served with Khichuri Prasadam.

The poor pic. quality as sent by organisers are regretted by the bolg moderators.

“Hindus should start a Hindu Freedom Movement in India.” – Upananda Brahmachari.

Posted by hinduexistence on August 22, 2010

Hindu Majority and Hindu Freedom is a must in India to retain its Democracy and Integrity as told by Upananda Brahamachari in his maiden speech in a strong gathering over 1,000 people at Birnagar, Kaliachak III block in Malda District in a grand celebration of 64th Independence Day by Hindu Samhati (HS) local committee.

In the morning of 15th August, 2010, a large rally by Hindu Samhati workers rejuvenated the local areas in its march with patriotic slogans and songs. The rally led by Chittaranjan Dey. Gen. Secretary and Mukunda Koley of Hindu Samhati along with the presence of Upananda Brahmachari.

The anti Hindu and anti Indian element of the areas went to underground for the hours of activities whereas a large Hindu crowd participated and supported openly the Independence Day Function organized by Hindu Samhati in a Muslim populated District of West Bengal. Malda, Murshidbad and Uttar Dinajpur, these three districts have been came under the fold of ISI and DGFI, where the National and Hindu celebrations are restricted.

In his speech Upananda said that the influx of Bangladeshi Muslims, uncontrolled Muslim population, Pak supported Jihadi activities, Muslim appeasement and Muslim Vote Bank Politics are vehemently jeopardizing the very texture of Indian democracy and integrity. Each and every martyrs sacrificed their lives for the cause of Independence of Akhanda Bharatvarsha (Undivided India). But for personal gain some political leaders of English Culture supported the division of Mother India. Muslims got the Pakistan under the communal design of two nation theory. But Hindus are still deprived of the Hindusthan for their own right of religious, social and political freedom.

Unfortunately in the name of political independence of India the Hindus are taxed for their pilgrimages, they are put in Hindu code bills and politically exploited in many ways. Upananda urged the audience to start a Hindu Revolt against the anti Hindu elements in India beside the Hindu Mass Awakening throughout the world to save the civil society against the Islamic fundamentalism and nasty consumerism grossly affecting the moral values and peace loving people.

In reality Hindus in Kashmir and North East have no freedom at all. As Hindus in India got a fractured freedom and exploiting situations, Hindus should start a Hindu Freedom Movement without any delay. Local Samhati leaders viz. Dijen Mondal, Sanjoy Ghosh and Gen. Hindu Unity Day (Hindu Sangathan Divas) was celebrated at Hindu Temple in Flushing, New York on a grand scale and it was a very successful event. Tapan Ghosh, President of Hindu Samhati, gave a call to the Hindus of America to rise to the need of the hour to support Hindus in the critical flashpoint of Islamic aggression that India has become.
Ghosh stated “At this juncture a sense of cohesiveness, a feeling that the community is an extension of one’s own self and an understanding that an attack upon any part of the community is an attack upon the whole Hindu world, has become not a necessity, but an imperative for Hindu society.” He added “The Hindu society now needs Hindu Solidarity, which is Hindu Samhati”. He further said, ” Hindu society is under attack from every direction and in every manner. The need of the hour is to reignite our Kshatriya spirit and stand resolutely”.
Dr. Subramanyam Swamy, the President of Janata Party and chief guest of the occasion said, “A few years ago I saw Tapan Ghosh working as an activist under the VHP banner. Now he has developed into a full blown leader of the Hindus of Bengal.”
More than a thousand people attended the event.

Aum and Hinduism give peace to Julia Roberts

Julia practises Hinduism, hopes she will have a quieter innings next time

Aug. 6: Julia Roberts has raised the bar for the art of asking for a “second chance”: she has started practising Hinduism so that she can be reincarnated as “something quiet” without the stress of celebrity.

The superstar with the million-watt smile has disclosed that she is a practising Hindu who goes to the temple to “chant and pray and celebrate”. “I’m definitely a practising Hindu. I’ve been so spoiled with my friends and family in this life. Next time, I want to be just something quiet and supporting,” Julia told Elle magazine.

Julia, who was born to Baptist and Catholic parents, is thought to have been introduced to the religion while shooting her new film, Eat, Pray, Love, in which she plays a woman hoping to find herself through spirituality. The recently divorced character visits Italy for food, India for spirituality and Bali, where she finds love.

The 42-year-old Julia, who married cameraman Daniel Moder in 2002, said the couple worship at a temple together regularly with their three children.

Will her wish for the next life be granted? “You can say the belief in reincarnation gives one hope of a second chance,” said Radharaman Das, the general manager of Iskcon, Calcutta.

Das said there was hope for her in this life itself and she was going about it the right way. “In case of rasogolla, you have to eat it to know what it is. Thinking of it will not do. But God and God’s name is the same. Chanting his name makes you experience God and expiate your sins of millions of earlier births.”   Photo >>>: Julia Roberts with an elephant in Eat, Pray, Love

What would Julia need to do to be considered a practising Hindu? According to Das, all initiates take a vow to follow four regulations. “The main focus is on chanting 16 rounds of Hare Krishna, each round comprising 108 times. Other than that, meat, as also onion and garlic, is to be avoided, as is intoxication, including tea or coffee. Gambling is out of bounds, so is illicit sex, i.e. sex outside marriage.”

But many feel Hinduism does not require such mandates. “Hinduism is more a way of life,” said Mural Bhai, the general secretary of Dakshineshwar Ramkrishna Sangha Adyapeath. “Manu says do not envy, speak the truth, do not steal, help others and lead a restrained life,” he added.

“The religion is so broad in outlook that it does not issue threats of sending one to hell if one fails to follow prescriptions. There are lapses, not sins,” said Swami Gurupadananda of Bharat Sevashram Sangha.

Some reports claimed Julia had converted – an unsettled issue in Hinduism as many purists believe one has to be born a Hindu, although some organisations do carry out conversions.

Julia does not need to give up her name, though some reports claimed that her children had been renamed (Laxmi for Hazel, Ganesh for Phinnaeus and Krishna Balram for Henry). “Taking a new name is not mandatory, though it gives you a Hindu identity,” said Swami Gurupadananda of Bharat Sevashram Sangha.

When Julia came to India, she did carry the ultimate symbols of materialism — 350 guards, bullet-proof cars and a helicopter. A minor controversy also broke out when villagers near Delhi were not allowed to enter a temple on Navratri.

However, in the magazine interview, she spoke with the sagacity expected of someone who has discovered India. Slamming the use of cosmetic surgery, Julia said: “It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want to have some idea of what I’ll look like before I start cleaning the slates,” she said.

Not that she has forgotten more expressive — and less spiritual — terms. “I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy, and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story… and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.”

The screen adaptation of the best-selling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert is expected to be released in Britain later this year. Trupti Patel, of the Hindu Forum of Britain, told PTI: “If Julia Roberts wants to call herself a Hindu, we welcome her into our Dharma…. The HFB does hope that it is not a cheap publicity stunt to promote her film.”

The Hindu Existence Staff Reporter||Wednesday, Aug 04, 2010

MUMBAI:  Now the Muslim Infiltrators from Bangladesh invaded the core areas of Central India. The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested 28 Bangladeshi immigrants, working as labourers in Nagpur, on Tuesday for illegally staying in the city. They were remanded to custody till August 5. “Due to terror threat, we keep a close watch on immigrants from Bangladesh. They come here to work as cheap labour, but some have ulterior motives as well,” inspector Purushottam Chaudhary told The Hindu.

They have been charged under the Foreigners’ Act for entering the country without valid documents.

Experts say that Muslim Bangladeshis are dangerous for Indian demography. By this method of silent Jihad Bangladeshi Muslims are capturing the Indian economy, populace, political power by out numbering the Hindus in border districts of Assam, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Gujrat. Even now they entered the heart land of Capital City of Delhi and Cosmopolitan Cities like Mumbai, Chennai and elsewhere. The political parties in India except BJP treat these Muslim intruders as valuable vote bank for their political gain.

As per reports of the Interior Ministry of India, these Muslim Bangladeshis are figured not less than 5 Crores. Many a times these Muslim infiltrators act as operator of Jihadi and subversive activities in India.
