Jammu | Patna | Chhapra | ANI-PTI | 7 August 2013:: Chief of Army Staff General Bikram Singh paid tribute on Wednesday to the five soldiers who were killed on Tuesday morning by Pakistani troops [At first Indian Defence Minister AK Antony stated that a troop of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists came to attack Indian army base in disguise of Pakistan Military wearing their dress etc. Afterwards he said that Pak army was involved in LoC attack– Ed Hindu Existence.] along the Line of Control in the Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, soon after his arrival at Jammu Airport.
General Bikram Singh will visit Poonch on Wednesday to review the security situation in the wake of the killing of the five Indian soldiers. General Singh is also scheduled to visit the Division headquarters in Rajouri and the 93 Brigade headquarters to take stock of the security situation.
He is also expected to meet the Commanding Officer and troops of the units whose personnel were killed in a Pakistan Border Area Team action, reports said.
Of the five Indian soldiers killed, four belong to the 21 Bihar Regiment and one to the Maratha Light Infantry. They were killed in an ambush by Pakistani troops.
The Indian Army soldiers killed in the incident have been identified as Prem Nath Singh, Shambhu Saran Ray, Vyay Kumay Ray, Raghunandan Prasad and Pundalik Mane.
On Tuesday, Defence Minister A.K. Antony strongly condemned Pakistan’s firing and attack on the Indian side of the LoC in the Poonch sector. “We strongly condemn this unprovoked incident. The Government of India has lodged strong protest with the Government of Pakistan through diplomatic channels. I assure the House that our Army is fully ready to take all necessary steps to uphold the sanctity of the LoC,” Antony said in a suo moto statement in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
“The Government of India conveys its condolences to the families of the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty,” he added. Antony informed that a patrol of the Indian Army comprising of one Non-Commissioned Officer and five other ranks was ambushed on our side of Line of Control in Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
“In the ensuing firefight, five Indian soldiers were martyred and one soldier was injured. The ambush was carried out by approximately 20 heavily armed terrorists along with persons dressed in Pakistan Army uniforms,” he said.
PTI reports that the wife of a soldier, killed in an ambush by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector, has refused the compensation offered by Bihar government and has instead demanded direct military action against Pakistan. ………
“Can Rs 10 lakh compensation bring back my husband? We don’t want compensation but strong military reply to Pakistan for killing my husband and other Indian soldiers,” a wailing Pushpa Rai, wife of jawan Vijay Rai told reporters at her native village at Bihta, about 50km from here in rural Patna.”How long will we accept attacks by Pakistan? Our soldiers are killed and beheaded. We will not accept anything less than a military action against Pakistan which is perpetrating attacks on our soldiers,” she added.Her sentiments found support from her husband’s elder brother Rajkishore Rai.

Chief minister Nitish Kumar has announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin and state funeral to the four Army men from Bihar who were killed in the attack on Tuesday.In Chapra, neighbours and friends of Lance Naik Premnath Singh, who was among the four martyrs, stopped a few trains including Licchvi Express and a passenger train at Kopa Samhauta station between Chhapra and Siwan demanding that the Centre take direct action against Pakistan.Two other important trains in this section — Vaishali Express and Bihar Samparak Kranti were diverted due to agitations, official sources said.Vijay Rai, who was recruited in Danapur Regiment in 2002, is survived by his wife a six-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter.His death has hit hard his mother Adhlagi Devi and sister Shakuntala Rai.The jawan’s father late Netlal Yadav had also served in the Army as does his younger brother Ajay Rai.

Earlier, the Shiva Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray demanded 50 heads of Pakistani troops as revenge to the ambush killing of four Bihari and one Marathi army soldiers by Muslim enemies from Pakistan crossed the LOC near Poonch.
While Pakistan laughs at our expense: Dr. Subramanian Swamy…..We’re thankful to our defence minister for not saying : “5 Persons dressed as Indian Army were killed in a border ambush “.In all thousands of cease-fire violations done by Pakistan earlier, it was Pakistan who used to say “our Army is not involved, its some non-state actors” (translated: it’s not our problem, it’s yours).
….But this time, thanks to the Congress government, Pakistan didn’t have to issue any statement. Our defence minister himself defended Pakistan by saying “person dressed as Pakistan Army ambushed our forces and killed 5”. Yes, it was our defence minister, not Pakistan’s..or so it seems.….While Pakistan laughs at our expense, we look like a bunch of impotent fools in this world.Congress is hell bent upon destroying our Army Intelligence – IB, R&AW, Army.….For the past few months now, every loyal nationalist in this country is being harassed for serving this nation.….Be it IB officers, Anti-Terrorist police task forces, IAS or IPS. The very saviors of this nation are now being targeted by the government upon the instructions of the foreign political and corporate interests or some petty vote bank politics.Tomorrow it will be just us left to fight the attacks on our nation from all sides- or even from inside.….Before you dismiss this as an impossibility, just think who or what is going to prevent it ?….
