Activists of Hindu Forum stop ‘trick prayer’ and complain of covert Christian conversion through ‘allurement’ and ‘inducement’ in MP.

Hindu Jagran Manch  activists stop ‘trick prayer’ with ‘miracle cures’, alleging Christian conversion at retired teacher’s farmhouse in Madhya Pradesh. Protests on.

STOPHENB | Jabbalpur (MP) | 1 March 2015::  A group of Activists belongin to the Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM), a right wing organisation, today created ruckus at a Christian prayer service at Kasba Jobat village in the Jobat region near here, alleging that people were being converted by ‘allurement’ and by ‘inducement’, police said.

‘Around 300 people were present in the prayer hall on Jhabua Road when the HJM activists arrived at 10 am, nearly an hour after the Sunday prayer began. Church of North India pastor, Emmanuel Ariel told The Indian Express that the activists raised anti-Christian slogans and also hurled insults during their protest till the police arrived’.

HJM activist Pratap Singh Dawar alleged that it was common for the converted Christians to woo tribals by offering them money or promising “miracle cures” for their ailments. He said Christians provoke tribals against Hindus.

After being informed, the police sprung into action and brought the situation under control after talking to both the groups, Jobat Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Anand Singh Vaskala said.

The incident occurred when one Nobel Emmanuel was holding a prayer service at his farm house.

HJM complained to the police that religious conversion through allurement was on at the prayer meeting. We are investigating the matter. On the other hand, no complaint from Emmanuel has reached us,” District Superintendent of Police (SP) Akilesh Jha told PTI.

‘The saffron outfit activists alleged that religious conversion was taking place at the farmhouse in the name of treating illnesses through special prayers. They added that those behind the Sunday prayers were also luring poor tribal villagers with clothes and food grain to change their religion.

Later, in the evening the saffron outfit activists submitted a complaint against the retired school teacher and demanded his arrest for promoting religious conversion’, as known from a report published in TOI.

Later, the Rashtriya Isai Mahasabha (RIM), a Christian body met Union External Minister Sushma Swaraj and handed over a memorandum to her in Bhopal this afternoon, seeking an end to attacks on Christian community across the country.

The development took place in Jobat-Alirajpur on a day, when the Christian community decided to hold three-day special prayers from March 4 at 100 places across the country for an end to “attacks” on churches and the “hate campaign” against the community. These prayers will be held in six cities of MP, including Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Bhopal, Gwalior and Damoh.

An RIM delegation brought the Alirajpur incident to the Swaraj’s notice, alleging that their place of worship is under attack by the Hindu right wing organisation,” former Madhya Pradesh Catholic Church spokesman Father Anand Muttungal said.
