In this protest rally, the members of Sarbojanin Puja Udjapon Samity, Shri Krishna Bhaktasangha, United Hindu Parishad, Sanatan Sangha, Harinama Sankirtanasagha, some other Organisations and Hindu activists gathered to join the agitation coming from different corners of USA, viz. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.
Protesting against the rise in violence against minorities in Bangladesh, Hindus of Bangladeshi-origin have gathered outside the White House here, asking US President Barack Obama to protect them and enlist radical Jamat-e-Islami as a foreign terrorist group. After the pronouncement of War Criminal Sayedee’s hanging order as a post Shabagh effect, Hindus-Buddhists in Bangladesh have been thrown into a new fire place of Islamic torture.
Raising slogans like “We do not want Talibanisation of Bangladesh” and “Save Hindus”, Bangladeshi American Hindus in a memorandum asked Obama to save the religious minorities of Bangladesh and enlist “Jamat-e-Islami, Bangladesh” as a foreign terrorist organisation.
“We are urging everyone to be united in outrage and by humanity and do all you can to save the endangered minorities of Bangladesh,” the memorandum said as the protestors demanded enactment of hate crime laws by the Bangladeshi Government.
They also demanded establishment of a monitoring cell with prosecutorial authority to monitor, prevent, and prosecute all communal incidents; and creation of a minority welfare ministry with authority to create a special police force drawn from the minority populace. The peaceful protest rally was organized by the supported Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, with support from various other organizations like Hindu American Foundation and the Indian American Intellectual Forum.
“Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, USA is calling upon the civilized world to come to the protection of these innocent and peaceful people who have committed no other wrongs than belonging to faiths other than what the terrorists would choose for them.They can count on no one and go nowhere,” the statement said.
In the memorandum handed over to the President of US, it is mentioned that in the history of 42 years old Bangladesh, thousands of temples were vandalized, wealth of minorities were looted, women and children were raped, but not any thing could be trialed before Court of Law to give them Justice. It is also told that over 1 crore minority people of Bangladesh, maximum of them are Hindus, were compelled to leave their Motherland in an unbearable situations have been being created by the Islamist perpetrators of any colour any party.
The organizers of the rally also demanded introduction of Hate Crime Law in Bangladesh along with establishment of Minority Watch, Welfare and Protection Cell and Judiciary Investigation Committee for giving punishment to the persecutors upon minorities in Bangladesh. The memorandum has also demanded a special session and hearing in the US Congress to verify the injustice and persecution upon Bangladeshi Hindus, Buddhists and other minorities.

If my recent trip to South Asia taught me anything, it is that the solution to stopping the ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Bangladesh lies within us. And so do the obstacles. This is a serious human rights travesty that has been flying under the world’s radar for at least 40 years as Hindus went from almost a fifth of the new nation of Bangladesh (1971) to less than eight percent today. Throughout that period, there has been a torrent of confirmed and specifically anti-Hindu atrocities that have proceeded with the tacit approval of successive governments representing all political stripes in Bangladesh. According to Professor Sachi Dastidar of the State University of New York, the number of Hindus murdered, forced to emigrate, and forced to convert to Islam, or never born as a direct result come to 50 million. That is a third of Bangladesh’s current population, which shows how that country is as much Hindu as Muslim—or would be were it not for this creeping jihad.
Bangladesh still has the world’s third largest Hindu population with about 12 million Hindus living without protection from radicals and others who can attack and abuse them with impunity because the government they helped vote into office turns a blind eye toward their victimization. And yet, what major media outlets report this ongoing ethnic cleansing? What internationally hailed human rights organizations champion a fight against it—or even mention it in any significant way? That the answer to both questions is “none” does not mean they all are anti-Hindu or funded by of petro dollars.
As Ceasar said in William Shakespeare’s play, “The fault dear Brutus is not in the stars but in ourselves.”
On February 18, I was in Bangladesh where I embraced Hindu victims and confronted their victimizers, stood with their defenders Hindu and Muslim, and confronted Bangladeshi officials participating in and allowing these atrocities. I had also spent a great deal of time with Advocate Rabindra Ghosh, who puts his own well-being aside to fight to stop the atrocities.
That night, I arrived at my hotel to find two Hindu Members of Parliament (MPs), waiting to speak with me. They came expecting well-wishes, photo-ops, and hand-wringing about how bad others are. But they represent Dinajpur and Khulna, two areas in Bangladesh where anti-Hindus abuse is a way of life, where the Awami League government continues its predecessors’ practice of purposely turning a blind eye to this “quiet case of ethnic cleansing,” and where these government officials who say they represent the Bangladeshi Hindu community sit silently while their co-religionists are slaughtered. Having freshly returned from one of them where I met victim after victim, I was in no mood for their sort of false solidarity. So, after a brief introduction, I asked, “Okay, tell me what you—as Hindu MPs—are doing about the ethnic cleansing of your people here.”
“We have done many things. “ Answered the man from Khulna where fresh atrocities are occurring even while I am writing this.
“Many things? You know that’s [a lie],” I replied sharply. “Hindus in your district are being raped and killed, their land snatched, Mandirs destroyed; and no prosecutions. So, don’t tell me that you’re doing ‘many things.’ How many Hindu Members of Parliament are there?”
“Seventeen.”
..“Seventeen? That’s a lot of people; and you mean to tell me that with that many in parliament, you still haven’t done anything?”
“Well, the party—“
“That’s your other mistake, and I tried to tell this to Hindus before the last election. Minorities need to form their own political party. Right now, the Awami League doesn’t have to do anything. They know you’ll vote for them anyway. And the BNP doesn’t have to do anything because they know you won’t vote for them.”

And I went on for some time, peppering them, demanding, egging them on, etc. I told them that they should be ashamed that I come half way around the world while they do nothing here for their own people. Pointing to Rabindra Ghosh, I said that “he has extensive evidence that there are Members of Parliament involved big time in grabbing Hindu land, even rapes and other atrocities. You know what your enemies think of you as you sit next to them smiling? ‘We can steal their land, rape their daughters and sisters, and just give them a few Taka.”
Someone started to say something about there being problems. “Problems? Problems? I don’t want to hear about problems,” I said. “You think I don’t have problems? Or that he [Rabindra Ghosh] has none? ‘Problems’ are just an excuse for not doing what’s right.”
They sat either with their face buried in their hands (people in the lobby were beginning to take notice) or looked up at the ceiling; but I would not let up. For years, we have been struggling against a system and a government that wants to keep the issue buried while keeping the destruction of Bangladesh’s Hindus going strong. People like these two men are in a position to do something about it but do not.
I reminded them that an American Christian, former US Congressman Bob Dold raised the issue of the Bangladeshi Hindus on the floor of the US House, while they remain silent. Referring again to Rabindra Ghosh, I noted that “this man has extensive, direct, and verified evidence of enough atrocities so that each Hindu MP can begin each session of the Jatiya Sangsad (Bangladeshi parliament) by reading a new one in the record. Perhaps they can be the agents who force the government to act or the world to take notice.”
Right now, however, they refuse to acknowledge their responsibility to act. And while they sit silently and watch their people being brutalized, organizations like Struggle for Hindu Existence under the leadership of Upananda Brhmachari, is providing a public forum to do what they are not: exposing the truth of what is happening to Hindus in Bangladesh so that people will act to stop the atrocities.
It has been more than a month since our encounter, and none of Bangladesh’s 17 Hindu MPs have taken any action or uttered a word of protest even while the atrocities continue and their constituents suffer. If these “leaders” are too cowardly to act, perhaps the voters in their districts should vote for people who are not.

Meikhtila, Myanmar | Fri Mar 22, 2013 :: Unrest between Buddhists and Muslims in central Myanmar has reduced neighbourhoods to ashes and stoked fears that last year’s sectarian bloodshed is spreading into the country’s heartland in a test of Asia’s newest democracy.
Buildings in Meikhtila were still burning early on Friday and agitated Buddhist crowds roamed the otherwise near-deserted streets after three days of turbulence, said Reuters reporters in the city 540 km (336 miles) north of the commercial capital Yangon.
Five people, including a Buddhist monk, have been killed and dozens wounded since Wednesday, state media reported. Other authorities put the death toll at 10 or higher.
The unleashing of ethnic hatred, suppressed during 49 years of military rule that ended in March 2011, is challenging the reformist government of one of Asia’s most ethnically diverse countries.
Jailed dissidents have been released, a free election held and censorship lifted in Myanmar’s historic democratic transition. But the government has faced mounting criticism over its failure to stop the bloodshed between Buddhists and Muslims.
“I am really sad over what happened here because this is not just happening to one person. It’s affecting all of us,” said Maung Maung, a Buddhist ward leader in Meikhtila.
Hundreds of Muslims have fled their homes to shelter at a sports stadium, said local officials. The unrest is a bloody reprise of last year’s violence in Rakhine State in western Myanmar, which officially killed 110 people and left 120,000 people homeless, most of them stateless Rohingya Muslims.
Locals complained there were too few police in this city of about 180,000 people to subdue the unrest. It erupted after an argument between a Buddhist couple and the Muslim owners of a gold shop spiralled into a riot involving hundreds of people, said police.
Reuters saw some Meikhtila residents arming themselves with knives and sticks in an eerie echo of the Rakhine violence in 2012, when pitched battles between the two communities later morphed into orchestrated attacks on Muslim communities by organised gangs of ethnic Rakhine Buddhists.
The United Nations warned the sectarian unrest could endanger a fragile reform programme launched after Myanmar’s quasi-civilian government replaced a decades-old military dictatorship in 2011.
“Religious leaders and other community leaders must also publicly call on their followers to abjure violence, respect the law and promote peace,” Vijay Nambiar, U.N. special adviser of the secretary-general, said in a statement.
Myanmar is a predominantly Buddhist country, but about 5 percent of its 60 million people are Muslims. There are large and long-established communities in Yangon and Mandalay, Myanmar’s two largest cities, where tensions are simmering.
“Everyone is in shock here. We never expected this to happen,” said a Muslim teacher in Mandalay, requesting anonymity.
Rumours that violent agitators were heading for the city had set its Muslim community on edge, he said. Buddhist monks known for their anti-Islamic views last year staged several street protests in Mandalay.
In Meikhtila, at least one mosque, an Islamic religious school, several shops and a government office were set alight, said a fire service official, who declined to be named. Reuters saw both Buddhist and Muslim homes burned.
Sectarian unrest is common in central Myanmar, although reports were stifled under the military dictatorship.
Three people died in Sinbyukyun in 2006 when Buddhists attacked homes and shops belonging to Muslims and ethnic Indians, according to a U.S. diplomatic cable.
“The incident reveals underlying tense inter-ethnic relations in the heartland,” said the cable, which also referenced similar communal riots in Kyaukse, a town near Meikhtila, in 2003. (Writing by Andrew R.C. Marshall; Editing by Jason Szep)

On Saturday last (2nd March 2013), the West Bengal government denied that there has not been any exodus from Bangladesh to West Bengal following violence in the neighboring country over a top Jamaat-e-Islami leader being sentenced to death for crimes against humanity during the 1971 liberation war. “We have no such report,” Home Secretary Basudeb Banerjee told PTI when asked if there was an exodus from Bangladesh. “Security arrangements have been strengthened along the border,” he said on the measures that the state government has suggested to the BSF. In Malda, the BSF has been asked to intensify patrolling along the border. Top BSF officials said that the border outposts have been alerted all along and till now there was no report of any influx from either side. Some of the worst trouble spots in Bangladesh were said to be located quite close to the West Bengal borders and round the clock vigil was mounted. The news hooked up in the prime media coverage.
But, the reality in West Bengal borders and sudden increase of pilgrimage from Bangladesh in the holy places, shrines, monasteries tell another thing.
Not only that, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Chandan Mitra, who accompanied President Pranab Muherjee on his recent Dhaka trip, said the situation in Bangladesh “is pretty tense”.
Mitra said that “Hindu minorities are at the receiving end in Bangladesh” in the current communal clashes in Bangladesh run by Jamaat e Islami of Bangladesh.
The violence against minorities is “aimed at driving out the Hindus who are concentrated in a few districts where the Jamaat is also concentrated.. The exodus of Hindus to India is continuing,” said Mitra.
The Jamaat is protesting the death sentence handed over to a leader for war crimes committed in 1971.
Mitra said India has “certain moral responsibilities as they have to be mindful of their security.. And if another exodus takes place (like during the 1971 war), we will have to provide shelter,” he said, adding that the Jamaat is like the Taliban in nature. “It has risen from strength to strength and consolidated its position.” So, the new series of Hindu exodus from Bangladesh after recent Islamic violence by Jammat e Islami, has been started afresh.
Actually, hundreds of Hindus have been attacked, their shops and businesses burnt and women threatened by the Jamaat-e-Islami in the current spate of violence unleashed by the Islamists in neighboring Bangladesh, as it is focused in a discussion forum held in New Delhi.
“Hindus, who number more than one crore in Bangladesh, live in fear and agony… They don’t have anyone to help them,” said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Vijay at a discussion on ‘Bangla Desh-Shahbagh Rising, Jamaat-e-Islami’s violence and the Indian response’.
The protests at Shahbag transcend religion, he said.
“They are an assertion that we are all Bengali Bangladesh is a friendly country, and Sheikh Hasina (prime minister) is a friend (of India).. But it is horrendous and unacceptable that thousands of Hindu homes are being burnt, looted and police are unable to provide protection,” said Vijay.

“The Jamaat is acting on behalf of Pakistan and the ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) and against India,” he alleged.
As a result, as far as 1600 Hindu families from Noakhali and Chattagram has reached to Bharat with or without passport only to stay here until the position in Bangladesh is made stabilized. Major portion of these families are visiting holy places in West Bengal and staying in the different Dharmashalas, different branches of Hindu Ashrams and in the houses of relatives or in rented houses. The poorer Hindu refugees in this phase are also seeking the job of daily labourers or anything to be a means of survive.
Most of these Hindu uprooted families from Bangladesh are mainly halting in Kakdwip, Basanti areas in South 24 Parganas. Barasat, Banga in North 24 Parganas and Ranaghat, Tehatta areas in Nadia and Cooch Behar and Dakshin Dinaj Pur and Jalpaiguri in North Bengal. Some of these people are now in disguise of patient or pilgrims. Some of these Hindu refugees from Bangladesh uprooted by the Jamaatis, are now contemplating to venture in far states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh or Maharashtra.
The Islamists in Bangladesh are trying to make a Hindu-less Bangladesh. Minority Hindus of Bangladesh are compelled to flee away from there to here in Bharat. Still Govt. of India is saying ‘No Exodus yet’. Though different Hindu organisations in India protesting the tremendous tortures upon Bangladesh Hindus, Govt in India is not ready to accept the truth of exodus or to extend any help to the tortured and uprooted Hindu refugees from Bangladesh. Global reaction against the brutal assault on Bangladesh Hindu Minorities by Jamaat e Islami after the pronouncement of execution of BD war criminal Sayedee.
Upananda Brahmachari | Dhaka | Sunday 3 March 2013 ::The Rights organisations in Bangladesh and abroad are now contemplating a bigger fight against the recurring atrocities upon the Bangladesh Minorities, especially upon Hindu Minorities in recent days after the pronouncement of execution of BD war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayedee by Special Bangladesh Tribunal named as “International Crimes Tribunal” (ICT).
Sayedee was convicted for the severe charges as accused of working with the Al-Badr and Rajakar group during the independence struggle and carrying out numerous atrocities, including forcibly converting Hindus to Islam. Sayedee formed some small groups to loot and seize the property of Bengali Hindus and those who supported and participated in Liberation of Bangladesh.
The tribunal found Sayeede guilty of eight out of the 20 charges levelled against him. These were murder, torture, rape and forcibly converting Hindus to Islam.
Getting disappointed and being arrogant with the ‘hang to death’ order for Sayedee, the fundamental Islamic force led by Jamaat e Islam of Bangladesh lashed out a political confrontation with the opponents and wrecked a havoc upon the Hindu Minorities in a most unreasonable retaliation.

On Friday, the UN Gen Secy, Mr. Ban Ki Moon has also conveyed his peace message for the BD Govt and Jammatis both to maintain the harmony for Bangladesh people and requested to resist the ongoing violence to protect the rights of minorities there. In an UN Press release, Mr. Ban Ki Moon urged BD Govt and the confronting Jamaati to stop the violence immediately, in order to avoid any fatal consequence in further extension.

The Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Oikya Parishad formed a human chain in Chattagram Saturday to protest what they called ‘heinous attacks’ by Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir on the country’s minority communities in the wake of the death verdict for Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee.

On saturday, in front of Dahaka National Press Club, a mammoth Human Chain, Black March and Protest Rally were conducted by Hindu Buddha Christian Oikya Parishad, Bangladesh Jatiyo Hindu Mahajot (Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance – BNHGA), Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Porishad, Bangladesh Sevashram Foundation, ISKCON, Motijhil Thana Sarbojanin Puja Committee and others to raise an united voice to end the victimization of Hindu Minorities as and when the fundamentalists determine to relish on.
In a press statement, it is categorically said that ” We are in a very critical crisis period, when a matter of Justice towards the settlement of anti-liberation crime has been vitiated in a communal texture. A heinous torture, murder, loot, assault, destruction of temples are rampantly done in an utter communal method to extinct the Hindu community in Bangladesh”. The organizers of Human Chain and Protest rally expressed their grave concern for the destruction and burning of 1500 Hindu household, 50 temples, murder of 3 Hindu minority people, injuring over 100 Hindus in last three days of spreading violence all over Bangladesh. Such targeted violence upon Hindu minorities by Jamaati hooligans covering 22 districts including Noakhali, Chattagram, Coxbazar, Kumilla, Laxmipur, Gaibandha, Brahmanbaria, Syllet, Satkhira, Bagerhat and Thakurgaon.
An estimated 100 crores of loss has been levied on Hindus by the torture friendly Jamaati beasts under human skin. The leadership in the protest rally and human chain has been expressed their concern to the deterioration of minority status of Hindus under an unbearable Islamic persecution and threat perception.
In Bangladesh, some 26,00,000 acres of land was declared as Enemy Property and at least 2 crores of Hindus were compelled to leave Bangladesh under an Islamic conspiracy.
The protest rally and human chain were led by Kanutosh Majumder, Subroto Chowdhury, Gobinda Chandra Pramanik, Basudev Dhar, Ripon Dey, Pinaki Das, R Das Gupta and Sanyasis (Monks) of various Muths (Monasteries) of Dhaka and far sides.
In Bharat (India), the protesters of ’Gairik Bharat’ (Saffron India) held a protest demonstration in front of Silchar District Collectorate Office, where they burnt the effigy of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hassina in a protest of recent inhumane torture upon Hindus and destruction and desecration of Hindu Temples in Bangladesh.
Hindu Existence Forum has specific news for upcoming protest rallies in USA and European Countries to express solidarity with the Bangladesh minorities under a severe torture of the fundamentalist whatever under the regimen of BNP or Awami League. The series of violation of Human Rights and brutal torture upon Bangladeshi Hindus in 1946-47, 1971, 1990, 1992 and 2001 is not only a pathetic history, still it is a horrible experience of death and loss of everything in the days and minutes of 2013 also.

Islamic Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad Tuesday (26 Feb) allegedly threatened to blow up major railway stations and places of Hindu shrines and tourist interest in Uttarakhand in retaliation to the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afjal Guru, a senior police official said. Being shocked by Kasab and Afzal hanging, these fundamental Muslims want to attack upon Hindus in Kumbh Mela time.
The letter written purportedly by the Karachi based area commander of terror outrfit Jaish-e-Mohammad contains a threat to blow up Dehradun, Haridwar and Kath Godam rail junctions near Nainital and prominent places of religious and tourist interest like Har Ki Pauri in the holy city, as Haridwar SSP Arun Mohan Joshi told to the PTI source.
“Though the authenticity of the threat and the origin of the letter is being examined, we are not taking any chances and have alerted the highest authorities in places mentioned in the letter”, he said.
As a routine work, security around the places mentioned in the letter has been beefed up. But, there is no guarantee of preventing the series of blasts anymore.
The letter addressed to former Superintendent of Haridwar Railway station Amrinder Singh was received on Tuesday, he said adding similar letters have been issued to retired railway officials in the past as well. Sources say that the security of Allhabad station is also being kept most vigilant than ever.
The difference between the latest threat letter and those received in the past is that this one has purportedly been written by Jaish-e-Mohommad whereas the earlier ones bore the name of Lashkar-e-Toiba, the SSP said.
Unfortunately, our Home Minister, Intelligence Departments and the Security Agencies have all the information of upcoming terror, blast threat perceptions etc. and we read and hear the news of post-blast calamity and casualty very fortunately.

The terror outfit Indian Mujahideen (IM), the champion of Dilsukhnagar twin blasts in Hyderabad, has given a threat to Mukesh Ambani. IM delivered a letter to the office of the RIL Chairman threatening to harm him for supporting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Police have launched a probe following that letter, purportedly sent by terror outfit Indian Mujahideen to Mukesh Ambani, as reports came in.
The letter, delivered by an unidentified person to Ambani’s personal staff in a sealed envelope at his Maker Chambers office on February 24, also said IM would damage his 27-storey mansion ‘Antilia’ on Altamount Road, a police officer said on condition of anonymity.
The handwritten letter, claimed to have been penned by an IM operative, said the organisation wanted the release of its operative Danish and, if he was not set free, the home-grown terror group would cause harm to Ambani.
Police suspect the letter referred to Mohammed Danish Ansari, a native of Darbhanga in Bihar, who was arrested in January by NIA for sheltering Bhatkal brothers before they reportedly escaped to Pakistan three years back.
After receiving the letter, a senior officer of RIL met city Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh to apprise him of the development, the officer said.
Police would ask for CCTV footage from the security staff of Ambani’s office to find out whether any images of the person, who had delivered the letter, were captured.
When contacted, a spokesman for RIL refused to comment as the matter was under investigation.

Biswajit Murder: BJHM & SIF Human Chain and Protest Rally in Central Press Club, Dhaka.
”We demand immediate arrest and punishment of the killers of Biswajit. Otherwise Home Minister must Go Down”.
DHAKA | 14 Dec 2012 :: A huge Human Chain was organised in front National Press Club of Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh. In protest of brutal killing of Biswajit Das in open daylight in the street of Dhaka amidst a nationwide bandh (blockade) on Dec 9th, called by ’18-party-alliance’ of the opposition, this Human Chain and protest rally were organised by Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote (BJHM) and Sanatan International Foundation (SIF), Bangladesh. Starting at 10-30 this morning the programme was continued more than two hours. In the middle of that programme the aggrieved agitators in the Human Chain protest rally, blocked the adjacent roads by sitting an lying on road that created a traffic jam for a while. [Program duration at human chain is 10.30.am to 11.45 am. Procession and road block program time duration is 12.00 pm to 01.10 pm].
The rally demands the resignation of the BD Home Minister MK Alamgir as he cannot avert liability of the killing of Biswajit and for the alleged inaction to arrest and punish the culprits connected with Biswajit.
Addressing the programme, Biswajit’s cousin Nabin Das said, “Home Minister could not avoid responsibility of the killing. So he should quit from his post shouldering the liabilities.” He also demanded exemplary punishment to the killers.
Nobin alleged that high-ups of the government are trying to save the killers through making derogatory, confusing and light comments on the killing.
Beauti Bonik, sister of late Biswajit, however, could not speak much as she burst into tears in the programme. She only demanded punishment to the killers on immediate effect.
It was substantiated through the first proof from the media coverage (both electronic and print), a 24-year-old tailor Biswajit was brutally killed by a group of ruling party-backed Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL – student union of Awami League) activists during the road-blockade of the opposition 18-party alliances on December 9. But, Mr Abul Klam Azad, Press Secretary of Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Awami League Supremo, categorically denied it and claimed BNP-Jamat connection with the murder so far.
Now it has been authenticated that most of the killers were students of BD capital’s Jagannath University (JnU) and Kabi Nazrul University College.
After the heinous murder the Home Minister Mahiuddin Khan Alamgir also repeatedly denied Chhatra League link with the killers.
But JnU authorities expelled 3 of the killers from the university and cancelled certificates of 2 for their involvement in the killing. Still photos and video footages clearly show the killing incident which drew huge criticisms across the country and the social media like facebook and twitter. May be as repercussion, the Officer-in-charge of Sutrapur Police station, Mr Nazrul Islam has been transferred to Police Training Academy in the evening of the day of protest, as reported. A Dhaka Court today placed three accused of Biswajit killing case–Nahid, Kibria and Kaium–who were arrested earlier, on 8-day remand for police interrogation in the case.
In a press statement, Advocate Gobinda Chandra Pramanik, the Gen. Secy. of Bangladesh Jatiyo Hindu Mohajot (BJHM) expressed the anxiety of Bangladesh Hindu Minorities as the State Administration and the Police are very much reluctant to prosecute the murderers of Biswajit and with a silent support of the Police the Hindus of Dinajpur, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Chattagram and Coxbazar were victimized in various torture like loot and dacoity, abduction and arson to their houses and so on in recent times.
In the press statement of BJHM, it is also stated that it was very strange and fatal decision that the Central Administration did not deploy the RAB to check the situation on apprehension for which the culprits were chanced to kill Biswajit in a meaningless deployment of inept police force.

She claimed proper and fast adjudication of the case now laundering in a course of reluctance and inaction.
Adv. Rabindranath Ghosh (Bangladesh Minority Watch), a veteran Human Rights Activist in Bangladesh pointed out the deprivation of BD minorities in both the constitution and politics for which such discrimination and the torture can happen time and again. Adv Ghosh demanded immediate justice to the bereaved family of Biswajit by booking all the perpetrators of Biswajit Murder and revival of a true democratic rights and law-enforcement to stop killings of innocent people like Biswajit.
Muhammad Abdul Khaleque, Spokes Person of Bangabandhu National Independence Council (BNIC) sensitized the secular conscience by saying that Biswajit was my brother and this land must provide the equal rights to live for every minority Hindu, Buddhist, Christian like the majority Muslims. So, rejecting all political equations and others the murderers of Biswajit must be drawn up under exemplary punishment.
Pinaki Das , Joint Secretary of Sanatan International Foundation (SIF) thanked the Media persons who took the video footage in severe risk and continuously reporting in both print and electronic media to reveal the truth of Biswajit murder. He requested to Smt. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister and Mr. MK Alamgir, Home Minister, Bangladesh for an ensured application of law and control over the total situation so that minorities would be protected meaningfully. Even we don’t want to realize this simple moral: When you quarrel someone else gains. The quarrel between Tamil Hindus and Sinhala Buddhist in Sri Lank paved the way to a huge rise of Islam in Sri Lanka as a threat to a Buddhist-Hindu Culture of Sri Lanka.
Even tender children read the fables of that two cats dispute the sharing a cake, while a monkey comes to settle the matter and finally ate whole of the cake left nothing for those cats. But, the world leaders of the most revered and ancient two religions i.e. Hindu and Buddhism do not care for an unity of them to fight against those Islamic Monkeys now trying a debacle in some districts of Sri Lanka in a regular fashion.
In the month of April (2012) last there were some die hard agitations by Muslims in the suburbs of Dambulla, Kurunegala and in the month of May (2012) it was in Dehiwala over the disputes for renovations of Mosques, where Sri Lanka Govt. ordered to shift those impugned Mosques so erected upon sacred Buddhist places. In the dispute over a Dambulla mosque government planed to relocate it. It had not gone down well with Sri Lanka’s Muslims and the country’s main Muslim party in the Govt coalition, Sri Lankan Muslim Congress protested a little bit, but the hard-liners as Sri Lankan Muslim League confronted with the Police and Administration with tooth and nail.
Rauff Hakeem, leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) told reporters that he believed President Mahinda Rajapaksa was an experienced and mature leader and so there was no question of SLMC leaving the ruling coalition.
After an unusually packed Friday prayers (on 27th April, 202)in nearby mosques at the Colombo city, hundreds of mainly Muslim young men thronged the street protesting against the shifting of the mosque at Dambulla because it’s allegedly built on land declared sacred by Buddhists. The police and the special combat force faced many difficulties to disperse the crazy people gathered in that Save Mosque congregation.
Such type of Islamic shows of rowdyism are becoming common in Muslim concentrated areas of Sri Lanka. The problem is related to the growth of Muslim population in Sri Lanka in recent times. Muslim percentage 0f 7.5% in 2001 census, has crossed the limit of 10% in 2011 as reports say. But, Muslims claim that they are 17% of the total population of Srilanka and they also demand apportioned participation and reservations in Govt Administration, Police, Military and Finance.

A news published in Colombo Telegraph in recent, narrates that: “The vast majority of the Sri Lanka island’s Muslims are the descendants of Persian and Arab traders who settled on the island. Official estimates put the Muslim population of the country at around 7 percent, although Muslims believe their share of the population is much higher, perhaps as much as 17 percent of the total population. In Sri Lanka, such numbers are important because funding from the Ministry of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs is spent proportionally on each religion.”
It goes further that: “During, the 30-year civil war between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam and the central government, the island’s Muslims, though Tamil-speaking, sided with the government against the LTTE. This was in part a result of thousands of Muslims being ejected from Jaffna in the early 1990s. During the conflict, the Sinhalese Buddhist majority courted the island’s Muslims, and many Muslims rose to prominent bureaucratic positions, while a handful even served in the Sri Lankan armed forces. “
Upon such act of imprudence to prop up Islamist in Sri Lanka, the Muslim problem in the island has been grown up in such a height that may be fatal for checking a force of Quran loving fanatic people over the Buddhist – Hindu culture in Sri Lanka including the Buddha Sasana in the State.
The Muslims of the island are now engaged into conversion activities by alluring poor Hindu-Tamil people in the island.
Imams of mosques in Ampaa’rai district are engaged in converting members of poor Tamil Saiva families to Islam with financial inducement. Poor Tamil families from Chiththa’ndi, Mu’rakkottaancheanai, Chanthive’li, Kiraan and Ko’rakkallimadu who go work in rice mills, textile shops and brick making centres owned by Muslim businessmen are being coerced with inducements from the business owners according to sources.
About seventy five Saiva families of Nainaakdu have been converted to Islam. A mosque has also been constructed at the village for the use of converted Hindu-Tamil people.
Not only that, Tamil girls who are employed in textile shops owned by Muslims along Kalmunai-Akkaraippaththu road are also allegedly being sexually abused and used for prostitution, according to a report published in TamilNet.
This nature of Muslims towards Non-Muslims has been propounded by the orthodox Islamic views through their practice of Quranic doctrines.
Police in Akkaraipaththu and Kalmunai have failed to take action against complaints made related to prostitution as the Police officers are also being allegedly bought over by financial inducements from the Muslim organizers of the prostitution rings, local sources said.
Today the Hindu-Tamils are being victimized by the Sri Lankan Muslims. They are being converted into Islam by allurement. The Saiva -Tamil girls are victim of prostitution by an Islamic conspiracy. But, these also be a problem of Buddhist people in Sri Lanka. An upsurging Islam in Sri Lanka cannot be trusted anyway.
Sinhala-Buddhist people and Tamil-Hindu people in Sri Lanka must be united to fight against Islamic expansionism in this island. Lord Buddha, the principal embodiment of Bodhi, is highly esteemed by Hindu people as an incarnation of Bhagavan Vishnu. HE ] in Cox’s Bazaar’s Ramu Upazila early on Sunday in one of the worst religious attacks in Bangladesh apparently triggered by a Facebook posting allegedly defaming the Quran.
Eyewitnesses and police said the assailants set fire to at least six Buddhist temples and nearly 20 homes and looted and damaged more than a hundred others until 3am in the hate attack.
Cox’s Bazaar district’s Superintendent of Police Selim Mohammed Jahangir acknowledged the violence in the Buddhist-dominated locality. He said around 3am situation in the Ramu district headquarters was under control but in areas on the fringe, tension was palpable.

COX’S BAZAR, Bangladesh (AP) — Thousands of Bangladeshi Muslims angry over an alleged derogatory photo of the Islamic holy book Quran on Facebook set fires in at least 10 Buddhist temples and 40 homes near the southern border with Myanmar, authorities said Sunday.
A mob comprises of around 25,000 people, angered by a photograph posted in Facebook, torched dozens of homes of the Buddhist community and vandalised six 100-year-old pagodas as a sectarian violence broke out at Merunloa village in Ramu upazila here Saturday night.
“Police patrols have been strengthened in the Buddhist-majority areas,” SP Jahangir added.
Paramilitary BGB personnel have been called out to restore order in the affected areas, Suresh Barua, teacher at a local school, said.
Several houses and Mithhachharhi Bonbihar, some five kilometres from Ramu Sadar Upazila, were set on fire around 3:30am, said General Secretary of Ramu Upazila Juba League Nitish Barua.
A 100-foot high under-construction Buddha sculpture was also ravaged in Bimukti Bidarshan Babna Centre in the locality, he added.
Gias Uddin Ziku, Office Secretary of Cox’s Bazaar district unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Chairman of Jhilangja Union, said he dispersed Jamaat-e-Islami activists who had gathered around localities of ethnic minorities. He also said he had informed the police of the incident.
Local people said followers of an Islamist party led by several leaders took out a procession around 10pm on Saturday alleging that a photo was uploaded on the Facebook to defame the holy book.
At a subsequent rally, they claimed a youth by the name of Uttam Barua had pasted the purportedly offensive photo in the social networking website and demanded his arrest.
Another militant procession was taken out that marched down towards the Barua Parha around 11:30pm and some youths from the procession set some homes of the Buddhists on fire.
From then on, 15 homes, three temples including ‘Saada Ching’ and ‘Laal Ching’ were burned to the ground, Dipak Barua, a local, said.
Police, local administration officials and public representatives were trying to quell the arson and destruction that continued at least until 1:30am.
A local journalist, who was hiding with family in the neighbourhood that came under attack, told bdnews24.com the Cheranghata Barakyang Temple close to his home was set alight. He said the flames died out around 2:45am.
Also, Ramu Maitree Bihar, Saada Chinglaal, Ramy Sina Bihar and Jadiparha Bouddha Bihar were torched, ransacked and looted.
At least 10 Buddhist villages were attacked and Purbo Merongloa locality that had around 20 houses was burned.
Chairman of Ramu Upazila Council Sohel Sarwar Kajal said efforts were on to quell the tension.
Several Facebook users, meanwhile, said Uttam Barua, the Ramu youth being accused of Quran defamation, did not post the photo deemed to be offensive to Islam. They said Uttam was tagged in the photo from a Facebook ID called ‘Insult Allah’ and so he was in no way responsible.
Recently, there was much hullabaloo was created after Rohingya Muslims tried to cross the border into Bangladesh fleeing the religious riot in Myanmar’s Buddhist-majority Rakhine state. A section of the civil society in Bangladesh reacted to the government refusing the refugees entry. The government believes communal forces were behind this incident.

Alarming decrease in Hindu population in Bangladesh

In past ten years, in comparing to the growth of the total population in Bangladesh, there is an alarming decrease of Hindu population in the country. According to statistics available with the government sources, the proportionate decrease in Hindu population is around nine hundred thousand. The statistics show almost elimination of Hindu population in fifteen districts in the country. Most of the Hindu families in those districts were forced to leave the country. In 2001, the total number of Hindu population in Bangladesh was 16.83 million, while the population was expected to be 18.2 million in 2011. But the latest statistics available with the government shows the total number of Hindu population at 12.3 million, which is nine hundred thousand less than the expected rate of growth. Currently 8.5 percent of the total population of Bangladesh is Hindus, while in 2001, it was 9.2 percent. The proportion of Christian, Buddhist and other religious minority population did not see any decline in the past. Currently the total number of Muslim population in Bangladesh is 90.4 percent. The district-wise statistics of population sees “huge decline” or “almost elimination” of Hindu population in fifteen districts, though the statistics terms the decline of Hindu population as “missing population”.
Rise of Islamists as well as greed of forceful occupation of Hindu properties has compelled hundreds of Hindu families in migrating to other countries, while Islamic Missionaries engaged in converting Hindus are also liable for such decrease in Hindu population in Bangladesh. Currently more than three hundred Islamic charitable organizations are actively engaged in patronizing and funding converting Hindus into Islam. At the same time, one of the reasons behind decrease in Hindu population is lesser rate of total fertility rate. Hindus in Bangladesh started migrating to various countries, including neighboring India since the partition of British India in 1947. Muslim influential figures in various parts of Bangladesh, irrespective of their political identities have been continuing to force hundreds Hindu families in selling their properties at unbelievably cheaper price and migrate mostly to India in order to skip numerous forms of repressive actions. If any Hindu tried to protect their ancestral property and resist undue pressure of the Muslims, either their houses were set on fire or female members of those families were forcefully abducted as well as gang-raped. In most cases, law enforcing agencies, instead of standing in protecting the Hindu families, tried to defend the perpetrators, simply because of their political identity or social status. Whichever party came in power in Bangladesh, repression on Hindus never stopped, as it has become a type of social disease within the Muslim population of Bangladesh in applying repressive actions on the Hindus and other religious minority groups, thus finally compelling them in leaving the country by selling their properties only at a token price.
Secretary General of Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance, advocate Gobinda Chandra Pramanik said, “Hindu girls are becoming victim of abduction and rape on an increased frequency. That is why, most of the Hindu families in Bangladesh either send their girl children to various educational institutions in India or get them married at tinder age simply to save their religious and social dignity.”
He said, “Though some of the Hindu rights groups are falsely claiming that the forceful migration of Hindu families had decreased since Bangladesh Awami League came in power, the reality is actually just the opposite. Even during this present government, which came in power in 2009, there had been numerous attacks on Hindu families and temples in the country as well as alarming rise in the forceful abduction and religious conversion of Hindu girls and boys throughout the country.”
Citing example of Gopalganj district in Bangladesh, which is considered to be the exclusive vote bank of Bangladesh Awami League and safe heaven for the Hindus, Gobinda Chandra Pramanik said, “In 2001, the total Hindu population at Gopalganj district was 371,000, while now it has gone down below fifty thousand. This statistics will prove the fact of repression on Hindu population even in the district, which is wrongly considered as ‘safe heaven’ for the Hindus in Bangladesh.”
He said, “The burden of ‘Enemy Property Act’, which later was changed into ‘Vested Property Act’ has already caused hundreds and thousands of Hindu families in leaving Bangladesh either by selling their properties at token price or simply abandoning their ancestral properties into the grips of the greedy Muslim influential figures belonging to Bangladesh Awami League, Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Jatiyo Party. Though a large proportion of the Hindu populations consider Bangladesh Awami League as their own party and almost as guardians of protecting the rights of Hindus, in the past, very unfortunately, Awami League never kept its promises in protecting the Hindus.”
Seeking anonymity, a Hindu community leader in Gopalganj district said, “Bangladesh Awami League though proclaims to be a party totally committed to protecting rights of Hindus and religious minorities in Bangladesh, unfortunately their political behavior is no different than any other political party in Bangladesh. No Hindu has ever been placed into top most posts in the Central Committee or district level committees of Bangladesh Awami League. Though it is very unfortunate, but this is the ground reality.”
PTI | Aug 09, 2012, 16:16PM IST : Guwahati: A CBI inquiry into the Assam violence has been initiated and the Army put on alert, the government told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday as the opposition alleged that the region was not safe because of vote bank politics by the ruling Congress.
Replying to a debate on the issue of violence in Assam that has so far claimed 74 lives, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said the government was taking the issue seriously and has already initiated a CBI inquiry to ascertain the causes behind violent incidents.
“The government is taking this issue very seriously. A CBI team has gone there and an inquiry has started….I have instructed the Army to be alert,” he said.
As the opposition created an uproar expressing dissatisfaction over his reply, Shinde said, “I have instructed the Army to be on alert. What else do you want?”
He also listed the steps taken by the government to provide relief and rehabilitation, but the opposition dismissed what he said by creating uproar.
Earlier, leader of the Opposition Arun Jaitley charged the government with adopting the policy of vote bank politics that led to the current violent incidents in the state and alleged that the region was “not safe in its hands” if such a policy continued.
Jaitley also urged the government to have a relook at “this vote-bank policy” and start identifying the real problem of illegal infiltration that was causing unrest in the area.
“If you adopt the original line of Gopinath Bordoloi (who wanted the cultural and linguistic identity of the Northeast) India will be safe in your hands. But if you adopt vote bank politics, I don’t think this region is safe in your hands,” he said.
Jaitley accused the Centre of adopting a “clerical” approach to the problem and urged the Home Minister to reject such an approach.
“Here was a government which not only discarded the original Assam line…” but encouraged illegal infiltration enmasse in search of votebank politics, he said.
Welcoming the CBI probe into the issue, Jaitley urged the government not to treat this as a “simple crime” and not “miss out” on the issues as to why such incidents have taken place.
He also feared that going by “the kind of situation that is existing in these areas, such incidents are likely to be repeated”.
“Is this is not a normal consequence of the unnatural change of the demography that has taken place in those areas?” he asked.
Reminding the Congress leadership of the policy adopted by its former leader in Assam Gopinath Bordoloi, who wanted the cultural and linguistic identity of the North East, particularly of Assam, to be maintained, the BJP leader charged the ruling party with adopting a policy of vote-bank politics by allowing illegal immigrants and not deporting them.
“The Congress leadership at the time of partition was fully conscious of the North East and rightly so that its identity has to be maintained…Unfortunately somewhere post- Independence the line that the Congress took before partition was altered by the subsequent people in the party.
“They realised that Assamese vote was going away from them and so they were in search for an alternative vote bank…It is the pursuit of that alternative votebank that is the reason for the problems today,” Jaitley said. [From Dainik Bhaskar].
Assam riots: Four more bodies found, toll 77

GUWAHATI: Four more bodies were recovered today in lower Assam, which witnessed fresh incidents of violence, taking the toll to 77, police said.
“Two bodies, that of a male and a female from the minority community, were recovered from Kokrajhar district, and one each from Baksa and Chirang districts,” Assam IGP (law and order) L R Bishnoi said.
He said of the two bodies found from Kokrajhar, one was fished out from Champa river and another was recovered from Gossaigaon area.
“There were certain fresh incidents of violence but the police has taken timely action to prevent escalation,” Bishnoi said.
The rival Bodo and Minority communities had planned attacks but intelligence inputs had helped in prempting the violence. They had planned arson in several interior villages but were thwarted by security forces, the IGP claimed.
Curfew is on in all four strife-torn districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Dhubri, he said.
AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh is currently touring affected areas of Kokrajhar today.
The state government has directed the district administration to take stern action to ensure that there is no further outbreak of violence.
Fresh clashes between Bodos and minority immigrants had erupted on August 5 in the lower Assam districts after a relative calm of 10 days.
A CBI team is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow following chief minister Tarun Gogoi’s recommendation for a probe by the central agency, officials said.
A five-member team of Group of Ministers, constituted by the chief minister, visited refugee camps in Dhubri reviewed relief measures and directed the district administration to ensure health and hygiene. [From TOI].

Delhi | PTI | Agencies | 23-07-2012 | updated on 26-07-2012 :: Ethnic violence between Indigenous Bodo Tribals and Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants today escalated in more areas of western Assam with 11 fresh casualties in clashes and police firing, forcing the Centre to rush 1,500 more paramilitary personnel to control the unrest that has claimed 40 lives so far.
The violence has spread in and around the Kokrajhar district all the way to the Bengal border, reported CNN IBN.
The Centre had rushed nearly 1,400 paramilitary personnel earlier to Assam to assist local administration in bringing back peace in violence-hit Bodoland Territorial Administered Districts (BTAD) as the ethic clashes have now spread to 8,000 sq km areas.
The forces have been sent in addition to 9,000 paramilitary personnel already deployed in the north-eastern state to maintain law and order there, official sources said.
The Prime Minister spoke to Gogoi and took stock of the situation. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister P Chidamabaram also called up the chief minister.
Shoot-at-sight order was issued today and indefinite curfew clamped in entire Kokrajhar, where the toll in the ethnic violence mounted to 40.
The death toll in the ongoing ethnic clash between Bodo and Bengali speaking Muslims in the Bodo heartland inKokrajhar district since Friday, rose to 40 subsequently as additional central paramilitary forces from different parts of the country are on their way to the troubled area.
Over 50, 000 people belonging to both the communities have been affected in the spate of violence so far. The population of Bodos, the largest tribal group among the 23 notified scheduled tribes, is just over five per cent of the total population of the state while Muslims constitute nearly 33 per cent.
Located at the western end of Assam and bordering West Bengal on its west and Bhutan on north, Kokrajhar district is the cauldron of simmering communal mistrust leading to hatred in Assam’s western territory that is boiling again.
Four ethnic clashes in 60 years involving the Bodos, the first human race in this part of the country, Bengali speaking Muslims (mainly from Bangladesh) and Adivasis have all been borne out of mistrust among the communities.
Concerned over the violence, Home Minister P Chidambaram called up Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who briefed him about the latest developments and the steps taken by the state government to bring back normalcy in the troubled areas.
Home Ministry officials, including Union Home Secretary R K Singh, are in regular touch with the state government officials and offered all possible help to defuse the situation.
Sources said Assam government officials informed the Home Ministry that the violence has spread to 400 villages located in 8,000 sq km areas.
Fresh clashes and arson were reported from the Bodoland Territorial Administered Districts (BTAD) where two more bodies were recovered taking the toll to 40 in the ethic violence.
The bodies were recovered from the banks of Gouranga river on Monday morning, police said.
People stopped the Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express at Pratapkhat between Kokrajhar and Gossaigaon on Monday last alleging that their houses were damaged by miscreants when they moved to relief camps, IGP (BTAD) SN Singh told PTI.
According to official sources, the violence started after gunmen attacked two student leaders in Magurbari Thursday. Following this, four former Bodo militants were shot dead Friday.
An abandoned hostel of Bodo students was set ablaze at Bidyapara in Dhubri district with the fire brigade initially being prevented access before police intervened.
Police fired in the air when bandh supporters tried to forcibly close down shops in Golokgunj and Gauripur towns of Dhubri during a 12-hour bandh called by the All Assam Minority Students’ Union to protest attacks on the minorities in BTAD districts, SP Pradip Saloi said. Seven person were injured in the clashes on Monday.
It may be mentioned that the AAMSU president has hinted out the hand of Bodo militant in the Gossaigaon killing incident. So by framing Rajbongshi youths as the killer of the minority people, the BTC administration and police is trying to hide the truth, Ahmed alleged. He also directly blamed Tarun Gogoi and BTC chief Hagrama Mahilary for all sortsof atrocities meted out to non- Bodo people in BTC.
Erstwhile, the AAMSU president also announced their agitational programme and sit- in-demonstration in front of Raj Bhavan on July 16. He also demanded immediate transfer of Kokrajhar SP and DC besides the arrest of the culprits, adequate compensation to the victim’s family and protection to non-Bodo people living in BTC.
The student leader also criticised Minister Chandan Brahma for simply announcing ex-gratia to the victim’s family.
It may be mentioned that one person died on the spot and another three were injured in the firing incident that took place on Friday evening in Gossaigaon area under Kokrajhar district.
Meanwhile, the two minority student organisations namely All Assam Minority Students’Union (AAMSU) and All BTAD Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU) after visiting the spot at Gossaigaon on Saturday said that if culprits are not nabbed a massive agitation will be intensified statewide.
Assam Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Nazrul Islam reached Kokrajhar and appealed to people to maintain peace and calm and not heed rumours.
Assam Transport Minister Chandan Brahma had on Saturday announced Rs.3 lakh as compensation to the next of kin of the dead and Rs.50,000 to those injured in the violence.
Kokrajhar falls under the jurisdiction of BTAD which is dministered by Bodoland Territorial Council. the council came into existence after the signing of a tripartite peace accord among Bodo Liberation Tigers militants, the Assam government and the Central government in February 2003.
