#LalQila Launchpad 2014. The whole Indian Nation is awaiting to hear a voice from Narendra Modi : #GearUpIndia. #JaiHind. Happy Independence Day 2014. Vande Mataram. . #JaiHind.
Mother India’s awakening once again as one must see India ensconced as World Guru……
“Brothers and sisters, today, on 15th August, we also have the birth anniversary of Maharishi Aurobindo. Maharishi Aurobindo, being a rebel, moved on to achieve the status of a Yoga Guru. With regard to the destiny of India, he remarked, “I have a faith that the divine power and spiritual heritage of India will play an important role towards the welfare of the world.” Such sentiments were echoed by Maharishi Arvind. I strongly believe in the words of legends. I have great faith in the statements made by ascetics, sages & saints and that’s why today at the ramparts of Lal Quila I am reminded of the words of Swami Viveknanda. He had said – “I can see before my eyes Mother India awakening once again. My Mother India would be seated as the World Guru. Every Indian would render service towards welfare of humanity. This legacy of India would be useful for the welfare of the world”. These words were spoken by Swami Viveknanda ji in his own style. Friends, the words of Viveknanda ji can never be untrue. The words of Viveknanda ji, his dream of seeing India ensconced as World Guru, his vision, it is incumbent upon us to realize that dream. This capable country, blessed with natural bounty, this country of youth can do much for the world in the coming days”.

Indian descendants of Hindu culture. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat says all Hindustanis (Indians) are Hindus, triggers controversy.
HE Media Bureau | Cuttack and New Delhi | 11 August 2014:: Again the issues related to Hindu, Hindutva and Hindu Rashtra (Nation-State) have paced enough in the socio-political mind in ‘India, that is Bharat’ in order to highlight the pulsation of the majority people of the country better known as ‘Hindusthan’.
If inhabitants of England are English, Germany are Germans and USA are Americans then why all inhabitants of Hindustan are not known as Hindus, came a poser from Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangha (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday 10th August.
“The cultural identity of all Indians is Hindutva and the present inhabitants of the country are descendants of this great culture,” Bhagwat said while speaking at the ‘Golden Jubilee’ function of an Odiya weekly, “Rashtra Deep” here. Rashtra Deep is the most circulated Odiya weekly run by RSS activists and supporters.
The RSS chief further went on to say that Hindutva is a way of life and Hindus could be of any religion worshipping any God or not worshipping at all.
Referring to Vivekananda, Bhagwat said not worshipping any God is not necessarily an atheist rather the one who doesn’t have faith in self is sure an atheist.
He said the world has now realised that Hindutva has been the only basis to keep India united since ancient days despite having plenty of diversities.
He, however, expressed concern saying that some in India are not realising it and whenever a discussion on it takes place, the protagonist are wrongly branded as communal.
Speaking on the current world scenario, the RSS leader said there is darkness everywhere and the world at large is looking at India for solace because India still marches on the path of righteousness.
“As long as dharma exists in India, the world will continue to respect this country. But once dharma is gone, no force on earth can stop the country from crumbling,” the RSS leader warned.
On Monday, 11 August, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday received flak from non-BJP parties for his suggestion that all Hindustanis are Hindus with many leaders wondering if he has read the Constitution and really believes in it.
Congress leader Manish Tewari said Bhagwat would be well-advised to read the Constitution which very specifically states that India is Bharat, a union of state, and the word “Hindustan” is nowhere mentioned.
Sitaram Yechury of CPI(M) said Bhagwat should make it clear if he believes in Constitution.
“He should make it clear if he believes in it. In our Constitution, the country is Bharat not Hindustan,” he told reporters.
JD(U) President Sharad Yadav said India has come so far since Independence by keeping its faith in the Constitution and its future lies in following the same course.
BSP Chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati while slamming Bhagwat said he does not have “proper knowledge” of the Constitution.
“When Ambedkar ji (Bhimrao Ambedkar) wrote the Constitution he kept in mind that our country comprises various religions and people follow them. So the name Bharat was given, the word Hindustan was not used. The RSS chief does not have proper knowledge of the Constitution. He should learn that and then comment,” she said.
Father Savrimuthu of Archdiocese of Delhi expressed concern over Bhagwat’s comments, saying India is a pluralistic country but the RSS head has tried to put everybody under one umbrella.
“Our nation is great and known for unity and diversity… Now you (RSS) are trying to make one nation, one religion, one culture, trying to put everybody under one umbrella which is not right,” he said.
Seeking to downplay the row over Bhagwat’s comments, BJP leader Vinay katiyar said, “what he (Bhagwat) mneant by ‘Hindu’ was ‘Hindustani’. He never spoke about interfering in religious practices of people.”
Bhagwat on Sunday asked if inhabitants of England are English, Germany are Germans and USA are Americans then why all inhabitants of Hindustan are not known as Hindus.
“The cultural identity of all Indians is Hindutva and the present inhabitants of the country are descendants of this great culture,” Bhagwat said while speaking at the ‘Golden Jubilee’ function of an Odiya weekly in Bhubaneswar.
The RSS chief further went on to say that Hindutva is a way of life and Hindus could be of any religion worshiping any God or not worshiping at all.
Our Delhi Bureau chief Angnesh Tripathi have captured the opinion of Upananda Brahmachari, Chief Editor, Hindu Existence on the current issue that ‘all the inhabitants of Hindusthan (Bharat- India) are virtually Hindus’. The points of importance are given below.
(i) The matters related to Hindu, Hindutva and Hindu Rashtra should not be the points of mere discussions or debates. RSS has been successfully campaigned the matters enough since 1925, the Establishment of the largest organisation in Bharat. Now, the organisation must take concrete action to make 100% Hindu, Hindutva and Hindu Rashtra in Bharat within 2025, within 100 years of its establishment.
(ii) The traditional and cultural concept of Hindutva and Hindu Rashtra as endorsed by RSS is not objectionable, but unless RSS takes initiatives to make Bharat as a constitutionally and internationally valid Hindu Rashtra here, nobody will get a scope to speak a single word for Hindutva or Hindu Rashtra after 2025. Keep it mind that 2025 is the deadline for a viable Hindu Rashtra in Bharat.
(iii) Those name sake Hindus like Sitaram Yechury, Manish Tewari or Mayawati are barking against Hindutva, have no knowledge about Hindu, Hindutva or Hindu Rashtra. They are all anti-Hindu or their vested interest of politics. People of India are interested to all about Hindutva from Chatrapati Shivaji down to the legacy of Swami Vivekananda, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Sri Aurovinda, Rabindramath Thakur, Dr. Hedgewad, Savarkar and so on. They all champion of Hindutva and their ideology of Hindutva is still relevant in Bharat, not of these secular maroons like Sitaram Yechury, Manish Tewari or Mayawati.
(iv) Those who are talking about constitution should keep in mind that History of this ancient country of Dharma and Manavata (Rightouness and Humanity) cannot be replaced by any recent constitution. Recently, this country was divided at the time of Independence in 1947 on the basis of ‘Two Nation Theory’. These two nations are, Hindus and Muslims. Muslims got their portion of Pakistan as Muslim Nation and Muslim State. But, Hindus still awaiting their portion as constitutionally and internationally valid Hindu Nation-State in Bharat. This disparity must go without any debate.
(v) Hindus in Bharat must start a new struggle for getting a constitutionally and internationally valid Hindu Rashtra (Nation-State) in this holy land of Hindus as a natural demand for a single Hindu Rashtra for more than one billion Hindu people on this earth. Henceforth, Hindutva must be an action plan for making a practical Hindu Rashtra than a theoretical points of discussion anymore. There is no doubt that Hindu is a way of life, but it is more important to make a space of Hindu Rashtra to ensure the survival of this way of life. This is practical Hindutva.

India is already a Hindu nation, I am a Christian Hindu: Goa’s deputy chief minister.
Hindu Existence Media Bureau | Panaji | 25 July 2014:: As an out come of Hindu Rashtra Adhiveshan held at Ramnathi, Goa in June last under the initiative of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and obviously as a resultant of Alternative Hindutva Movement initiated by small Hindu Orgs. without any affiliation from their big brothers, the demand of a Hindu State in Bharat is being surfaced in India gradually. And it has been triggered from Goa in the political arena.
Cooperation Minister of Goa, Dipak Dhavalikar on Thursday (24 July 2014) appeared eloquent by saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi will develop India into a Hindu nation.
“I am confident that under the leadership of Modiji, India will develop into a Hindu nation. PM will work in this regard is what I feel,” he said while speaking in the state assembly on a motion congratulating Modi on Bharatiya Janata Party’s electoral victory.
While Congress, the opposition in Goa wanted to condemn the matter on Friday in the Assembly, Deputy chief minister, Francis D’Souza said, “India is already a Hindu nation and all Indians in Hindustan are Hindus”.
As a reaction Congress staged walkout in Goa assembly over ‘Hindu Rashtra’ remark on Friday.
Defending the comments of his cabinet colleague Deepak Dhavalikar who said that Modi could make the country a ‘Hindu nation’, Francis D’Souza told reporters: “It was always a Hindu nation and will always be a Hindu nation. You don’t have to create a Hindu nation.”
D’Souza, one of the most senior minority members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Goa, said that he considered himself a “Christian Hindu”.
“India is a Hindu country. It is Hindustan. All Indians in Hindustan are Hindus, including I — I am a Christian Hindu,” D’Souza said.
Dhavalikar triggered a national controversy on Thursday while speaking during a motion congratulating Narendra Modi on becoming Prime Minister.
“If we all support it and we stand by Narendra Modi systematically, then I feel a Hindu Rashtra will be established,” Dhavalikar had said.
But, D’Souza insisted that Dhavalikar had no “clarity in his mind” because India was already a Hindu nation. And D’Souza tried a click to over rule the establishment of a Constitutionally recognized Hindu Rashtra in Bharat by saying,”You don’t have to create a Hindu nation”.
While connected our chief editor, Upananda Brahmachari in Delhi to have his viewpoint, he remarked that the “Hinduness of Mr D’Souza is most welcome. He is a Nationalist person in BJP, but he must look into the demand of one billion Hindus for a ‘constitutionally recognized’ Hindu Rashtra (Nation-State) in Bharat”.
“There are recognized 100+ Christian States; 50+ Islamic States; 10+ Buddhist States and even reasonably One Jew state in this world; then why not a single recognized Hindu State in this earth? Unless and until India is not considered Constitutionally as a Hindu Rashtra and be recognized by UN and Other Nations, what is the utility of this big talk of ‘India is already a Hindu nation’ etc?”, said Brahmachari from Delhi.
Further he told this reporter that, in a Hindu Rashtra rights and honor of every body will be safe. But, there will be not a single case of unjustified humiliation of Hindu saints, Hindu Temple, Hindu scripture. There will be no poverty, no riot, no cow slaughter and not a single conversion.
Practically India was cheated in the division of India on Two Nation (Hindu-Muslim) Theory. Muslims got Pakistan as an ultimate Muslim State, then why Bharat was not declared as a Virtual Hindu State?, Brahmachari put this point very emphatically.
Brahmachari justified the establishment of a Hindu Rashtra as demanded by the minister of Goa, Deepak Dhavalikar and urged everybody concerned including the Deputy CM of Goa to make a high pitch to establish a real Hindu Rashtra (Nation-state) in Bharat. He furrther added that “Hindus must start a fresh struggle and freedom movement for a Hindu Rashtra in Bharat setting aside all secular and communal menace. And a highest sacrifice is needed for this divine duty for our Mother Land”.
Brahmachari categorically pointed out: As India is already a Hindu nation, now make it constitutionally and internationally valid Hindu Rashtra.

Jammu-Kashmir police have, however, tried to show that the big attack on pilgrims was just a trivial fight. It has been stated in their report that, few tents got burnt injuring few persons. The report does not make any reference to fanatics gathered there. The tension between Hindu Pilgrims and the local fanatic Muslims was started out of dispute over ill behaviour with female pilgrims by Muslim pony owners that resulted a clash with those Hindus, running free langars/bhandaras (community kitchens) followed by the alleged high-handedness by CRPF personnel. If you set Hanuman’s tail on fire, Lanka will burn, Togadia warns Muslims to end Islamic menace against Hindus.
Dr. Togadia at Indore Press Meet.
HE Media Bureau | Indore | 20 July 2014:: In an unveiled caution to Muslims, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Pravin Togadia on Saturday asked the community not to forget Muzaffarnagar riots of 2013. He said if they tried to incite the fiery violence, they would also have to bear the brunt. An erudite Togadia explored Hindu retaliation against any attack upon Hindus in the next possible term in even village level.
“Main Musalmanon ko chetawani deta hun….. Aap Gujarat bhul gaye honge, par aapko Muzaffarnagar yaad hoga. (I warn Muslims…you would have forgotten Gujarat but surely remember the Muzaffarnagar riots,” he said while condemning attack on Amarnath pilgrims. “If you set Hanuman’s tail on fire, Lanka will burn. Gujarat riots broke out following the Godhra incident, and the rape of a Hindu girl led to the Muzaffarnagar riots,” Free Press Journal has quoted him as saying.
“Humari shaleenta ko, humari kayarta na samjhe (Don’t consider our silence as timidity),” he asked Muslims.
As per source, Dr. Togadia has reportedly said that while Gujarat riots followed the Godhra incident, the alleged rape of a Hindu girl led to the Muzaffarnagar riots. Togadia has a central team to probe the matter, while holding the Jammu and Kashmir government responsible for the violence.
The VHP leader was addressing a press conference on the World Hindu Congress Summit, which is scheduled to be organised in New Delhi in November this year.
Hindus protests at New Delhi against barbaric Islamic attacks on AMARNATH YATRA .
Clashes broke out on Friday near Baltal, the base camp of Amarnath Yatra, after a dispute between pony owners and those running community kitchens and alleged high-handedness by CRPF personnel, leaving at least 50 people injured following which the yatra has been suspended intially but restored afterwards.
He demanded fast track courts be set up to try the culprits. He said the state government would not be able to control the situation if the relatives of the victims take to the streets against the attack.
Taking exception to the contentious Article 370, he expressed hope that the Narendra Modi Government will keep its word on repealing it in the interest of the Kashmiri migrants. He also asserted that the BJP has got clear majority and the will fulfill its promise of the construction of Rama temple in Ayodhya as made in the manifesto. When asked to share his views on journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik’s meeting with 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed, he said, “If we have courage, we should bring him (Hafiz Saeed) to India, try him in the court and hang him. That will be real patriotism.”
Todagia’s statements come as a rejoinder of VHP patron Ashok Singhal’s remarks about Muslims. A few days earlier, Singhal had termed result of Lok Sabha elections 2014 a “setback to Muslim politics” as a natural outcome of Hindu polarization of Indian Election scenario. The 88-year-old RSS leader and the VHP Mentor said that polls in India could be won without the support of Muslims, asked the minority community to learn a lesson and respect Hindu sentiments.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad Mentor Ashok Singhal’s statement that Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in Lok Sabha polls 2014 was a “setback to Muslim politics” has created a furore.
BJP win blow to Muslim politics: Singhal
Shri Ashok Singhal has been the supremo of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and one of the longest serving senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders. (HT photo)
Prashant Jha | Hindustan Times | New Delhi | 17 July 2014:: The recent Lok Sabha polls had shown that an election could be won “without Muslim support” and it was time the minority community learnt to respect Hindu sentiments, VHP chief patron and senior RSS leader Ashok Singhal has said.
Narendra Modi — an “ideal swayamsevak” — would deliver on the Hindutva agenda unlike the first NDA government, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad supremo and one of the longest serving senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders told HT in an exclusive interview.
The right-wing Hindu leader, who had a front-row seat at Modi’s swearing-in, said “tables had turned”. The polls were a “setback to Muslim politics” used by “foreign and divisive forces to destroy our identity,” he said. It was time for them to learn their lessons.
“Muslims will be treated as common citizens — nothing more, nothing less. And, they must learn to respect Hindu sentiments. If they keep opposing Hindus, how long can they survive?” said the 88-year-old who has been a lifelong pracharak of the RSS, the ideological parent of the BJP.
Asked to elaborate, Singhal said Muslims should give up claims over Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura and also accept a uniform civil code.
The VHP is understood to have asked interlocutors to convey this message to Muslim organisations.
“We’ll then give them love, and not claim any other mosque sites even though there are thousands built on the ruins of temples. But if they don’t accept it, they should be prepared for further Hindu consolidation. It has happened at the Centre, it will happen in other states,” said Singhal, who set up the VHP and spearheaded the stir for the Ram Temple.
The temple issue, civil code and abrogation of Article 370, which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir, had strained the VHP’s ties with the Vajpayee government. The Hindu outfit felt that the NDA did not come good on “core issues”.
But no such apprehensions this time, Singhal said in clearest indication, so far, of the RSS’ assessment of what the Modi government can deliver.
“The government will not and does not need to backtrack because it has the numbers in the House, and whatever we want to do, we want to do it through constitutional means,” the VHP leader said.
The Ram Temple and Godhra had made the BJP win possible. “These were the undercurrents and then issues of development and governance appealed to the young.”
For the RSS veteran, elections and religion are never too far. “Religion is the rock on which this country rests.”
In Modi, he sees an “ideal swayamsevak. “During the campaign, he conducted himself like a swayamsevak. He also showed to the world the discipline and hard work that a Sangh pracharak puts in.” The PM started his political journey as an RSS pracharak.
Singhal admitted that there was “an unprecedented mobilisation” by the Sangh Parivar, an umbrella term for various Hindu outfits, during the elections.
Did Sangh expect rewards? “The governors being appointed — be it Ram Naik or Kesari Nath Tripathi — are all from the Sangh but this is not necessary. We worked because it was our duty,” he said. “The important thing is the agenda must be fulfilled.”
Despite the Sangh’s tough anti-Pakistan stance, he sees Modi’s invitation to PM Nawaz Sharif as diplomacy. “You also have to resort to deceit at times, and there are segments in Pakistan who want good ties. The problem lies with the jihadi elements, and till they are there, relations can’t be good.”
There were some more suggestions on foreign policy. India should take the lead in building a “cultural commonwealth” of South and Southeast Asia, with Hindu and Buddhist population. “China cannot lead such a grouping, it has no cultural backbone and, like the USSR, China will collapse one day.”

Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, the Creator of West Bengal as the assured province for the Bengali Hindus in Bharat.
~ A Tribute to Dr. S P Mookerjee on West Bengal Day on 20th June.
Under the provisions of Government of India Act (1935), Bengal was constituted an autonomous province in 1937. This remained the situation until the Indian subcontinent was partitioned into the two dominions of Pakistan and India after the British withdrawal in 1947. The eastern sector of Bengal, largely Muslim, became East Pakistan (later Bangladesh); the western sector became West Bengal in India. The partition of Bengal left West Bengal with ill-defined boundaries and a constant inflow of non-Muslim, mostly Hindu, refugees from East Pakistan, but the case of influx of Muslim infiltrators is also a great threat for demographic change of West Bengal in reality. More than 10 million refugees entered the already densely populated state after 1947, and their rehabilitation has been producing an immense burden on the Bengal administration.
In 1950 the princely state of Cooch Behar (Koch Bihar) was integrated with West Bengal through legislation. After the linguistic and political reorganization of Indian states in 1956, West Bengal gained some 3,140 square miles (8,130 square km) from Bihar. The additional land provided to West Bengal serves as a link between the previously separated northern and southern parts of the state.
But, this straight description of creation of West Bengal in the history with such a low narratives does not flash the history in reality. The Muslim leaguers in undivided Bengal and pre-partitioned India always wanted a large area of Bengal and Punjab to create an extensive Pakistan under their green Islamic design of Pakistan colored with the fresh blood of Hindus through direct action.
One great personality in Bengal emerged on the eastern bank of Ganges in that crisis period to save the western part of Bengal for making a safe and secured land for Bengali Hindus. All though he was an ardent believer in the integrity of the country that he loved so much, when he found that the division of India had become imminent and the emergence of Pakistan inevitable, he joined with similar-minded leaders in demanding division of Bengal on the same analogy of division of India. Thus a portion of Bengal, now named as West Bengal, was saved from the clutches of the Muslim League, and remained with Indian Union. He was none other than Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, the savior of Bengal Hindus and the creator of West Bengal in all true senses.
In 1905, the first partition in Bengal was implemented as an administrative preference, making governing the two provinces, West and East Bengal, easier. While the partition split the province between West Bengal, in which the majority was Hindu, and the East, where the majority was Muslim, the 1905 partition left considerable minorities of Hindus in East Bengal and Muslims in West Bengal. While the Muslims were in favour of the partition, as they would have their own province, Hindus were not. This controversy led to increased violence and protest and finally, in 1911, the two provinces were once again united.
However, the disagreements between Hindus and Muslims in Bengal which had sparked the Partition of Bengal in 1905 still remained and laws, including the Partition of Bengal in 1947, were implemented to fulfill the political needs of the parties involved.
After it became apparent that the division of India on the basis of the Two-Nation Theory will almost certainly result in the partition of the Bengal province along religious lines, Bengal provincial Muslim League leader Hossain Sahid Suhrawardy came up with a radical plan to create an independent Bengal state that won’t join either Pakistan or India and remain un-partitioned. Suhrawardy realised that if Bengal is partitioned then it will be economically disastrous for east Bengal as all coal mines, all jute mills but two and other industrial plants will certainly go to the western part since these were in an overwhelmingly Hindu majority area. Most important of all, Kolkata, then the largest city in India, an industrial and commercial hub and the largest port will also go to the western part. Suhrawardy floated his idea on 24 April 1947 at a press conference in Delhi.
However, the plan directly ran counter to the Muslim League’s, which was a political party during the period of the British Rule which advocated the creation of a separate Muslim-majority nation, demand of the creation of a separate Muslim homeland on the basis of two-nation theory. Initially Bengal provincial Muslim League leadership opinion was divided. Barddhaman’s League leader Abul Hashim supported it. On the other hand Nurul Amin and Mohammad Akram Khan initially opposed it. But Muhammad Ali Jinnah realized the validity of Suhrawardy’s argument and gave his tacit support to the plan. After Jinnah’s approval, Suhrawardy started gathering support for his plan.
On the other hand in Congress side, only a handful of leaders agreed to the plan. Among them was the influential Bengal provincial congress leader Sarat Chandra Bose, the elder brother of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Kiran Shankar Roy. However most other Bengal Provincial Congress Committee leaders and Congress leadership including Nehru and Patel rejected the plan. The Hindu nationalist party Hindu Mahasabha under the leadership of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee vehemently opposed it. Their opinion was that the plan is nothing but a ploy by Suhrawardy to stop the partition of the state so that the industrially developed western part including the city of Kolkata remains under League control. They also opined that even though the plan asked for a sovereign Bengal state, in practice it will be a virtual Pakistan and the Hindu minority will be at the mercy of the Muslim majority forever.
Although the chances of the proposal seeing daylight without Congress central committee’s approval was slim, Bose and Suhrawardy continued talks to reach an agreement on the political structure of the proposed state. Like Suhrawardy, Bose also felt that the partition will severely hamper Bengal’s economy and almost half of the Hindu population will be left stranded on the Pakistani side. The agreement was published on 24 May 1947. However this was largely a political agreement. The proposal had hardly any support at grassroots level, particularly among the Hindus. Muslim League’s continuous propaganda on the two-nation theory for the previous six years combined with the marginalization of Hindus in the Suhrawardy ministry and the vicious riots of Direct Action in 1946, which many Hindus believed was state sponsored, left little room for trust in Muslim League among Bengali Hindus. Soon afterwards, division arose among Bose and Suhrawardy on the question of the nature of the electorate; separate or joint. Suhrawardy insisted upon maintaining the separate electorate for Muslims and Non-Muslims. Sarat Bose opposed this. He withdrew and due to lack of any other significant support from the Congress’s side, the United Bengal plan was discarded. The Lion of India (Bharat Keshri), Dr. Mookherjee with a seer propagation of safety and security of Bengali Hindus established the legitimate claim of a separate land of Bengali Hindus within the territory of India, completely excluded from the clutch of communal Pakistan or any blatant conspiracy to suppress Bengali Hindus in the name of an united sovereign Bengal.
As per the plan, on 20 June 1947, the members of the Bengal Legislative Assembly cast three separate votes on the proposal to partition Bengal:
- In the joint session of the house, composed of all the members of the Assembly, the division of the joint session of the House stood at 126 votes against and 90 votes for joining the existing Constituent Assembly (i.e., India)
- Then the members of the Muslim-majority areas of Bengal in a separate session passed a motion by 106–35 votes against partitioning Bengal and instead joining a new Constituent Assembly (i.e., Pakistan) as a whole.
- This was followed by the separate meeting of the members of the non-Muslim-majority areas of Bengal who by a division of 58–21 voted for partition of the province.
Under the Mountbatten Plan, a single majority vote in favour of partition by either notionally divided half of the Assembly would have decided the division of the province, and hence the house proceedings on 20 June resulted in the decision to partition Bengal. This set the stage for the creation of West Bengal as a province of the Union of India and East Bengal as a province of the Dominion of Pakistan.
Also in accordance with the Mountbatten Plan, in a referendum held on 7 July, the electorate of Sylhet voted to join East Bengal. Further, the Boundary Commission headed by Sir Cyril Radcliffe decided on the territorial demarcation between the two newly created provinces. Power was transferred to Pakistan and India on 14 and 15 August, respectively, under the Indian Independence Act 1947.
Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee adopted causes to protect Hindus against what he believed to be the communal propaganda and the divisive agenda of the Muslim League. Mookerjee and his future followers would always cite inherent Hindu practices of tolerance and communal respect as the reason for a healthy, prosperous and safe Muslim population in the country in the first place. His views were strongly affected by the Noakhali genocide in East Bengal, where mobs belonging to the Muslim league massacred Hindus in large numbers.
Dr. Mookerjee was initially a strong opponent of the Partition of India, but following the communal riots of 1946-47, Dr. Mookerjee strongly disfavored Hindus continuing to live in a Muslim-dominated state and under a government controlled by the Muslim League. Actually, with his prolific political strature and influence, Dr. Mookerjee traumatised Jinnah, Suhrawardy and other Muslim Leaguers for their plan of Pakistan with Muslim dominated areas when the Lion of India roared with a demand for the Hindu dominated areas for Bengali Hindus in the Western part of Bengal.
Unless, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee partitioned Pakistan to create West Bengal and proclaimed the safety and security of Bengali Hindus form the clutch of Jehadi Muslims, the majority Bengali Hindus had to face the same eventualities as now being faced by Bengali Hindus in Bangladesh and the Hindu minorities in Pakistan.
God sent this savior of Bengali Hindus who created West Bengal and all the peace loving, liberal, tolerant and cultural Bengalis.
Bengalis must pay homage to Dr. Shyma Prasad Mookerjee, the creator of West Bengal on the foundation day of West Bengal on 20th June every year to respect and recapitulate the philosophy of Dr. Mookerjee to ensure the enshrined rights of Bengali Hindus in West Bengal. West Bengal Government must observe this celebration of West Bengal day and to pay proper respect to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee.

Hindus must take arms against Jihadis.
Hindus accept this challenge and will proceed 1:3 basis, if any touch comes to the Hindu icon Narendra Modi further.
From India’s jihadis, a message for Modi.
The inside story of the tailor’s son who tried to assassinate the tea-stall boy-turned-Prime Minister
Cadre of Indian Mujaheddin breakaway faction Ansar-ul-Tauheed—the Army of the One God— at al-Qaeda training camps in Pakistan’s North Waziristan.
Praveen Swami | The Hindu | 22 May 2014:: He’d stood before the prayer congregation at the mosque in the village of Bairia one Friday afternoon in the summer of 2006, and called on the worshippers to prepare for war. The man responsible for the communal carnage in Gujarat, the slightly-built teenager warned, was growing in power. India’s Muslims, he went on, must prepare for an onslaught that would lead to their annihilation. Local elders, alarmed by the polemic, brought the speech to a quick end. For a few hours, local police records show, communal tension flared — and ebbed.
Haider Ali —‘Black Beauty’ to his friends, who teased him for his dark complexion — never returned to his village. Through Wednesday, though, Bairia residents will have Ali’s image on television, in the hours following his arrest for bombing Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi’s October 27 rally in Patna, the culmination of at least three assassination attempts.
Ali’s arrest is a breakthrough for India’s intelligence services — but no reason to exult. In videotapes obtained by The Hindu, cadre of the Indian Mujahideen breakaway faction Ansar-ul-Tauheed — the Army of the One God — can be seen training at al-Qaeda training camps in Pakistan’s North Waziristan. In internet chat room discussions, and Islamist discussion groups, Mr. Modi’s rise is being used to make renewed calls to prepare for jihad.
The making of an assassin:
Ali’s journey, as investigation records tell is, is curiously similar to the railway platform-to-Race Course Road rise of the man he gave his life to trying to kill. Born to Muhammad Alam Ansari on August 21, 1988, Ali grew up in poverty. His father, a polio victim who worked as a roadside tailor, made Rs. 50 or so on a good day — and on the others, the family didn’t eat. Then, when Ali was in the tenth grade, his father left his family, and moved to Doranda, across the border in Jharkhand. The reasons for the separation are unclear.
In spite of his harsh circumstances, Ali demonstrated grit. He matriculated from Bairia’s high school, and, funded by his maternal grandmother, gained admission to the Doranda Degree College. His grades weren’t stellar, but good enough to gain admission to the Masters programme in psychology at Ranchi University.
Like hundreds of thousands of other upwardly-mobile young people in Bihar, Ali could have headed into the private sector, or competed for a government job. He turned, instead, to Islamist politics — joining the far-right jihadist faction of the Students Islamic Movement of India led by Safdar Nagori.
From Mr. Ansari’s account, there’s some reason to think economic hardship might have had something to do with his son’s rage against society. The last time Mr. Ansari saw his son was in 2010-11, when his landlord asked him to vacate the premises after he failed to pay the rent. Furious, Ali left home. “He returned once a few days later,” Mr. Ansari later told The Hindu, “and asked me to shift the shop to this place in Hathitola. I resisted but he threatened saying that he will throw away all things in my shop if I did not move to this new location. He did not return home after that.”
It’s also likely clear a man from Mumbai had something to do his rage. In March 2001, a young network engineer called Abdul Subhan Qureshi left his job at computer major Datamatics in Mumbai, saying in his resignation letter that he wanted “devote one complete year to pursue religious and spiritual matters”. Qureshi — a graduate of the upmarket Antonio DeSouza High School and the Bharatiya Vidyapeeth, and a star performer in his last job with Wipro — was joining SIMI full-time.
Qureshi played a key role in building SIMI’s underground networks in Bihar after it was proscribed following 9/11 — acting as mentor to Manzar Imam and Faisal Khan, who in turn are alleged to have recruited Mr. Ali. He drifted away from SIMI in coming years, frustrated by its unwillingness to act on its own jihadist polemic, and co-founded the Indian Mujahideen.
In 2008, Qureshi hid out with the group in Ranchi, after a nationwide police crackdown led to the dozens of Indian Mujahideen operatives. The group would shelter a number of key Indian Mujahideen fugitives in coming years — the most important of them Muhammad Ahmad Zarar Siddibapa, also known as Yasin Bhatkal.
Provocation against Hindus in India. Ansar ut Tawheed marches ” Kandahar Se Dehli Ki Taraf “:
For the attack on Mr. Modi, Ali is alleged to have relied on close friends — key among them, Mujibullah Ansari, also arrested on Wednesday. The son of a retired laboratory technician at Ranchi’s Apollo Hospital, Ansari also had a good academic record: armed with a Bachelors degree in commerce from the SS Memorial College in Ranchi, his family hoped he would go on to secure a well-paid private-sector job. Ansari’s main passion, though, was politics. In 2009-2010 served as sadr in the local Students Islamic Organisation — the youth wing of the Jama’at-e-Islami — but drifted slowly towards the jihadists of SIMI.
Siddibapa, the NIA alleges, used his time in Ranchi to try to recruit the SIMI cell to the Indian Mujahideen’s cause — but failed. The group said they disagreed on a matter of principle: Nagori had long argued for the building-up of a disciplined Islamist insurgency, not acts of terror against civilians.
The group didn’t mention, though, that they had plans of their own. In April, 2013, the NIA alleges, Ansari hired a room at the Iram Lodge, in Ranchi’s Hindipiri area, which would serve as a hub for the group. Inside, the group built the bombs used to target the Bodh Gaya mosque, and then Mr. Modi’s rally.
India’s intelligence services believe the arrests mark the destruction of the last jihadist cell known to be active—but are also painfully evident others have cropped up. Islamist groups in southern India are being investigated for the bombing of a Chennai-Bangalore train last month, and Tamil Nadu college students are known to be training with jihadists in Syria. Former Indian Mujahideen operatives Mirza Shadab Beg, Shahnawaz Alam, Muhammad “Bada” Sajid, Alamzeb Afridi,, Shafi Armar and Sultan Armar are known to be training in Pakistan, with their new organisation — and will, more likely than not, return home one day to wage war in their homelands.
“The Muslims of India are not powerless,” the Ansar-ul-Tauheed videotape featuring the group warns. “Their warriors are advancing towards you from Afghanistan, the blessed land of the one true faith. The same way we delivered carnage to you in times past, we will do so again”.
It is a threat India should take seriously.

We can’t forget our legacy of Jana Sangha and the sacrifice of last five generations, when this new era of responsibility has begun: Narendra Modi.
Rama Roy | New Delhi | 20 May 2014:: Without forgetting his saffron legacy of Jana Sangha, even in the highest applause for a land slide victory of his party BJP and the alliance of NDA, Prime Minister, Elect Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed his mandate as one of hope and trust and told his party colleagues that an era of responsibility had begun.
In his maiden speech after being elected BJP parliamentary party leader, Modi looked to get his political messaging right as he promised to be inclusive and mindful of the poor and said he will give his party no reason to feel let down.
“Sarkar vo ho jo gareebon ke liye soche, jo gareebon ki sune, jo gareebon ke liye jiye, nayi sarkar gareebon ke liye samarpit hai. (A government should think of the poor, listens to the poor, live for the poor, the new government is dedicated to the poor”),” Modi said.
Seeking to reflect expectations raised by BJP winning 282 seats – the first time a non-Congress party has won a majority on its own — saying, “I am a very optimistic man; only optimistic man can bring optimism in the country.”
Hinting that he intends to be a long term player, Modi said the nature of the mandate indicated the faith reposed in the party and promised to present a sound report card when his government’s term ends in 2019.
“When we meet in 2019, I will give you and my countrymen a report card… I will live for India,” he said while speaking after being elected leader of the BJP parliamentary party in Parliament’s central hall.
He took care to strum the emotional chords of the assembled phalanx of BJP MPs, saluting the “sacrifice” of five generations of party workers and leaders as the reason for the saffron out achieving a majority on its own.
His genuflection to BJP seniors and pointed references to Deen Dayal Upadhyay seem intended to highlight his fealty to Sangh ideals and a subtle repudiation of criticism that his individualism is at odds with party ideology.
During his speech to the BJP MPs in the Central Hall, Modi turned emotional when he referred to the absence of ailing senior party leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said, “Had Atalji been in good health, he would have been here. It would have been the state of ‘sone pe suhaga’ (the icing on the cake).”
He then broke down as he referred to Advani’s speech, in which he said it was because of “Narendrabhai ki kripa” that the saffron parivar had achieved a clear majority in Lok Sabha. “Advaniji ne kaha ki Narendrabhai ki kripa hai. Kripa karke kripa ki baat na karein (Advaniji said Narendrabhai has done us a favour. Please don’t use the word kripa),” Modi said before breaking down in the middle of his speech. Rajnath Singh offered him a handkerchief.
Advani had made the reference while proposing Modi’s name as the BJP parliamentary party leader. He compared the BJP’s victory with historic feats like Independence and the opposition’s victory over Congress after the Emergency.
Continuing his emotional speech, Modi said, “Kya maa ki seva kabhi kirpa ho sakti hai? Katai nahin ho sakti hai. Jaise Bharat meri maa hai waise hi BJP bhi meri maa hai. Aur is liye beta kabhi maa par kirpa nahin karta, sirf samarpit bhav se maa ki sewa karta hai. (Can a son do any favour by serving the mother? Not at all. Like India, BJP is also my mother. A son never does any favour. He only serves the mother).”
Modi urged his party colleagues to serve this country with all purity and the motive of sacrifice. Paying his deep tribute to all the freedom fighters and the makers of Constitution, Modi expressed gratitude to the flag-bearers of the largest democracy in this world.
He offered glowing tributes to generations of workers of the Jan Sangh and BJP and suggested that his achievement was built on the foundations laid by them and with the support from senior party leaders. “No words will be enough to express my gratitude to the hard work towards furthering nationalist thought by five generations of workers who made this historic day a reality for BJP,” Modi said. “You can see Modi not because Modi’s stature is large. You can see Modi because the party’s senior leaders raised me on their shoulders.” These words of solidarity with party workers and praise got BJP members very much emotional.
Modi categorically mentioned the last five generations who dedicated and sacrificed themselves to lit the oil lamp (the symbol of Jana Sangha) initially and inculcated the pure Nationalism gradually and helped to reach the ultimate goal.
Sri Narendra Modi did not lose sight of the larger responsibility being bestowed upon him and promised to leave no stone unturned for the welfare of “125 crore Indians” in his new role as the Prime Minister. He said that “if each one of 125 crore Indians stepped forward one step, the country will move forward by 125 crore steps”. In such a way, Modi wanted to emphasize the people participation in the Governmental activities.
Notwithstanding his vitriolic election campaign against the outgoing Congress-led regime, Modi acknowledged the “good work” by previous regimes and promised to expand their good work. “I congratulate all previous governments and their leaders. We will take their good work ahead and work harder to fulfil people’s dreams and aspirations.”
He promised that his government will work for the uplift of poor and vulnerable sections of society.
“The government should hear from the poor and work for the poor. My government will be dedicated to the poor, youth and women. It will be a government of villages, farmers, Dalits and deprived sections. All efforts will be aimed to live up to their hopes and expectations,” Modi said.
Speaking ahead of Modi, Rajnath Singh too underlined that the BJP’s victory was made possible because of support from all sections of society. “We got support from all sections of society whether it was SC/ST or others. In fact, BJP has the largest number of SC/ST members elected to the Lok Sabha,” he said, presiding over the meet.
Modi, for whom this was the first visit to the Central Hall, stepped into Parliament after paying his respect to the institution in his own fashion of typical Hindu tradition– by bowing down at the footsteps touching his forehead on it. In his speech, Modi described Indian Parliament as the Temple of Democracy.
Sri Narendra Modi’s name was proposed as Prime Minister by senior-most leader L K Advani and seconded by Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari among a few others.

The inevitable Modi Raj. The balanced blend of Hindutva is expected.
Modi on course to be India’s next leader, exit polls show
Shyamantha Asokan | Reuters | New Delhi | Hindu nationalist Narendra Modi is set to become India’s next prime minister, four major exit polls showed on Monday, with his opposition party and its allies forecast to sweep to a parliamentary majority in the world’s biggest ever election.
Modi, of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), electrified the lengthy contest that ended on Monday, with a media-savvy campaign that hinged on vows to kickstart India’s economy and create jobs.
Yet much depends on Modi winning enough seats to form a stable government that can push through promised reforms.
Elections are notoriously hard to call, and polls taken before and after voting have a patchy track record at best. Results of the ballot are due to be announced on Friday.
A Modi victory would be a blow for campaigners who have long maintained he is an autocratic Hindu supremacist responsible for an outbreak of religious riots in his home state, Gujarat, in 2002 in which more than 1,000 people died, mostly Muslims.
Modi, who rose from humble roots as a tea vendor’s son, was shunned by Western nations for years after the bloodshed in Gujarat
, where he has been chief minister since 2001.
However, his rise on the national stage forced a rethink among the European Union and the United States, whose ambassadors have met him to patch up relations.
Modi denies the accusations against him and a Supreme Court inquiry found no evidence to prosecute him.
A majority of 272 seats in parliament is needed to form a government, although that is often achieved with outside support from regional parties.
India’s staggered voting, spread over five weeks to reach the country’s 815 million voters and move security forces around its varied terrain, ended at 1800 IST (1230 GMT) on Monday.
CONGRESS FACES HUMILIATION
The BJP-led alliance is forecast to win 270-282 seats, according to a poll conducted by research group CSDS for the CNN-IBN television network.
It forecast just 92-102 seats for the coalition led by the Congress party, which would be worst ever result for the ruling party led by the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty.
Congress spearheaded India’s independence movement and has governed the country for over 50 years since freedom from British rule in 1947.
If the BJP and its pre-election allies can win an outright majority, it will be the best showing by a single group since Congress and its allies won 414 seats in 1984, when the assassination of then-prime minister Indira Gandhi created a swell of public sympathy for the party.
Several national exit polls over-estimated the BJP’s seat share in the last two general elections in 2004 and 2009. The Congress party went on to form coalition governments on both occasions.
“We will only know if this ‘Modi wave’ has really happened after the election results,” said Praveen Rai, a political analyst at CSDS who recently published a report on exit polls. “It still might be more of a media wave, a manufactured wave.”
Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state and a crucial political battleground, is particularly tricky for pollsters to forecast because it is a caste-sensitive state where some voters are afraid to speak frankly about who they chose, said Rai.
Another poll released on Monday, by Nielsen for ABP News, showed the BJP-led alliance hitting 281 seats. A third, by Cicero for the India Today group, predicted Modi’s alliance would take between 261 and 283 seats, and pollster C-Voter forecast a tally of 289.
One outlier poll, by Today’s Chanakya, showed the BJP emerging with enough seats to rule on its own.
The election reached a climax on Monday as Modi sought to secure his ticket in Varanasi, a holy city for Hindus on the river Ganges in Uttar Pradesh.
Stock markets have in recent days hit record highs on hopes that the exit polls would show the BJP and its allies winning a majority, boosted by both Modi’s pro-business image and the prospect of an end to the coalition governments that have slowed the pace of reform in recent years.
The Nifty index breached the psychologically key level of 7,000 points for the first time on Monday, breaking a record high of 6,871.35 that it hit on Friday.
The benchmark BSE Sensex hit an all-time high and the rupee touched its strongest levels in 10 months on Monday. Several analysts expected the rally to continue through the week.
“The implications of a strong NDA government at the centre is that the quality and composition of the capital flows will improve,” said Rupa Rege Nitsure, chief economist at Bank of Baroda. The BJP and its allies are known as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Should Modi fall short of a majority when the results come in on May 16, he will need to strike a coalition deal with some of India’s increasingly powerful regional parties.

Mahant Avaidyanath, Head of Gorakhnath Math ensures Hindutva in Social Life and Politics, urges BJP to give importance to Hindus in Bharat.
Temple activist wants to keep Hindutva alive
Mahant Avaidyanath, strong propagator of Hindutva and head of the Gorakhnath Math is now 98.
SMRITI KAK RAMACHANDRAN | THE HINDU | GORAKHPUR | APRIL 20, 2014 :: Mahant Avaidyanath, head of the Gorakhnath Math, is 98, but age and failing health have not weakened his resolve to “revive Hindutva and protect Hindus.”
The BJP, the party he supports, says development and good governance are its planks in the Lok Sabha election. But the Mahant, who was at the forefront of the Ram temple movement in Ayodhya, asserts that the election is an opportunity to reclaim the “shrinking space for Hindus in India.”
“We are fighting the elections on the agenda of revival of Hindutva and protection of Hindus who are in danger. If Hindus are threatened in India, where in the world will they be safe?” asks the four-time MP from here, who has been leading the revival and propagation of right-wing Hindu nationalism.
“We will support anyone who agrees with, and follows, our Hindutva philosophy, even if they are our enemies,” he told The Hindu in an exclusive conversation at his residence here.
The senior Mahant of the Math was earlier a Hindu Mahasabha leader.
Dismissing allegations that Mr. Modi and the BJP are “divisive” and “communal,” the Mahant says: “Anyone who tries to revive Hindutva, anyone who speaks up for Hindus is perceived as communal by the people who are essentially just enemies of Hindus and Hindutva.”
The Mahant, whose disciple Yogi Adityanath, sitting BJP MP from Gorakhpur, has succeeded him, says the Math’s main concern today is to “keep Hindutva alive.” [The Hindu].

In Gorakhpur, they swear by this Baba
Yogi Adityanath with BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi recently – Pic. PTI.
SMRITI KAK RAMACHANDRAN | THE HINDU | GORAKHPUR | APRIL 20, 2014 :: Hoardings and posters of candidates are conspicuously absent in eastern Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur parliamentary constituency. Barring a couple of billboards of the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi promising “Achche din” (good days), there is little by way of electioneering.
“This city chooses Baba; what is there to discuss? What good are posters when we all swear by him?” asks a shop owner in Golghar.
Yogi Adityanath, aka Baba, is the head priest of the Gorakhnath Mutt and the sitting MP since 1998. He is the presumed winner of the forthcoming polls.
The city is not only ready to re-elect him, but is also geared up to vote for “Modi”, who is “Baba’s choice.” The Yogi-politician has the final word in Gorakhpur and people eulogise him; they blame the lack of development in the city on successive Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party-led governments in the State.
While a majority of the city seems to have already chosen its MP, the minority communities — the backward classes and Dalits (Gorakhpur has a sizable Chamar population) — are divided in their opinion. “There are about 20,000-odd Christians in Gorakhpur and they have traditionally been Congress supporters. But this time there is a dilemma, some are supporting the Aam Aadmi Party, though its presence here is almost non-existent; others are thinking of going with the SP. But like the Muslims, the community is not the BJP’s vote bank,” says Rev. Roshan All of St. John’s Church in Bashartpur.
Not all residents endorse the assertion by the Gorakhpur temple that Hindus and Muslims co-exist in peace. “There are fewer clashes; incidents like Muzaffarnagar have not happened in recent times, but that doesn’t mean there is no tension,” says a Muslim resident, requesting not to be named.
Gorakhpur, on the banks of the Rapti, is considered the bedrock of right-wing Hindutva forces. It is also now home to the deadly Encephalitis that claims hundreds of lives every year.
The lack of development, avenues for employment and poor infrastructure are hard to ignore. [The Hindu].

We want to establishment of ‘Ram Rajya’ again starting from the holy land of Uttar Pradesh. Ganga Raksha, Samskruti Raksha, Bhartiya Culture, Bharat Raksha and Krishi Sampannta are the main issues: Narendra Modi at Vijay Shankhnad rally in Varanasi.
Varanasi | HE Mews Bureau | Dec 20, 2013:: After taking blessings of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva, at the famous Sankatmochan Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, respectively, Sri Narendra Modi urged for the re-establishment of ‘Ram Rajya’ from the holy land of Ayodhya-Kashi-Mathura in a mammoth gathering entitled as ‘Vijay Shankhnad rally’ in the holy city of Varanasi on Friday, Dec 20, 2013.
The BJP Prime Ministerial candidate highlighted the issues of Ganga Raksha (protection of Ganga), Samskruti Raksha (protection of Bhartiya Culture and Heritage), Bharat Raksha (protection of India) and Krishi Sampannta (development of Agriculture) with other issues connected with satae and national interest.
Addressing a public meeting in the temple town of Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh , which sends the largest number of 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha, Narendra Modi said if the people want they can see the return of ‘Ram Rajya’ which started from this land by voting for the right party.
“I have faith in the people of Uttar Pradesh. Your ancestors had established Ram Rajya. Had the people not been empowered, there would never have been Ram Rajya here. The state has all that is needed for Ram Rajya. The strength, tradition and will needed for establishing Ram Rajya is there in you,” Modi said.
“If still there are problems here it is because you have not chosen the right government. I have full faith that the day you do so, this (Ram Rajya) can become a reality,” he added.
Modi raised emotive issues, including the cleaning of the holy Ganga — referring to the river as “maa” (Mother), creating employment for locals involved in the handloom sector, farmer issues and employment opportunities for the youth and the poor.
He said his government in Gujarat had cleaned up the Sabarmati river, which used to be highly polluted a decade back, with the clean water of Narmada and asked why the same could not be done with river Ganga.
Modi also hit out at Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family, blaming them for poverty, unemployment and corruption plaguing the country.
Hitting back at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over his charge that some parties make promises that lie outside the realm of possibility, Modi said he does not make empty promises and the BJP is going to the people with firmly grounded intentions.
“We are not the people who make empty promises. We have not come to you with promises but with intentions. The country is bored of promises. It is time for bringing forth well-grounded intentions,” Modi said.
He targeted Congress for making promises and then failing to deliver at a huge cost to the exchequer. Citing the example of Ganga Action Plan which was envisaged during the Prime Ministership of Rajiv Gandhi for cleaning the polluted river,
Modi said though thousands of crores have been spent the river is still dirty.
“I request the Prime Minister to share detailed accounts with people and answer them on how many thousands of crores of rupees were spent on the project to clean Ganga- an issue on which you (Congress) have tried to seek a new identity and asked for votes since Rajiv Gandhi’s time,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister had said in his address at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting yesterday that some political parties make promises which “lie outside the realm of possibility” and his party should avoid it.
In another dig at Modi, he said Congress should not simply talk of firm leadership and decisiveness without talking of what the leadership will be used for and what decisions will be taken.
Modi retaliated today saying while people voted Congress to power hoping something will be done to clean the Ganga, but its waters have only become more polluted.
“Several plans and committees were formed but it seems money has been swept away like the waters of Ganga. In last five years, only three meetings were held and no work has been done.”
Flagging local issues and government’s failure to deal with them, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate said while Congress and the SP government in Uttar Pradesh see the state as electorally crucial, his party is concerned about the problems being faced by the people, including farmers and the youth.
Reiterating his call for a creating a “Congress-free” India, Modi said the results of the recent assembly elections show that people have lost their patience and are aggressively demanding that this government should be thrown out. “Those who have exploited you should be uprooted as it is the root all problems in India,” he added.
He also alleged that “one family” is responsible for the pain being suffered by the people.
“As the (Loksabha) elections are nearing, Congress is talking repeatedly about poor…Had the party (Congress) really felt their pain, there would have been no poor in the country in the 45-year rule of a family”, Modi said while addressing “Vijay Shankhnad” rally here.
“If anyone is responsible for poverty, it’s a single family. It also shows in their mindset”, Modi said.
Modi also slammed Rahul Gandhi on the issue of poverty and SP MP Naresh Agarwal for saying a tea-seller cannot become the Prime Minister.
“I am suprised that they are openly saying a tea-seller cannot become the Prime Minister. If people give their blessings, then a weaver, a farm worker or even a shoeshine man can become the PM,” Modi said.
Before addressing the Vijay Shankhnaad Rally at Rajatalab Mirzamurad Khajuri in Varanasi today, Shri Narendra Modi, along with BJP President Rajnath Singh, took blessings of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva, at the famous Sankatmochan Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, respectively.
In his meeting with Prof. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, the Mahanth of Sankatmochan temple, Shri Modi was apprised of issues including the plight of Ganga and the reality of Ganga Action Plan. At the Kashi Vishwanath temple, Shri Modi performed Dugdhabhishek of Lord Shiva under the guidance of Pt. Shrikant Sharma, who also gave him the traditional ang-vastram.
