HENB | Mysuru | Jan 2, 2016:: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said work of saints, seers, rishis, munis, mutts had always been for the welfare of society and led the social transformation and saved this countries in every steps of peril.
The seers and saints do not tomtom about their efforts as they feel it was part of their duty to work for the welfare of the society, he said during his visit to Avadhoota Datta Peetham, an ashram founded by Sree Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji, here.
“I have come here for first time but I know of the traditions here well”, said Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Karnataka. The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the annual Indian Science Congress here tomorrow as part of his engagements.
“Here (at the Peetham), social work has been given a big impetus. Work of saints, seers, rishis has always been for the welfare of society,” Modi, who also inaugurated a hospital of the Peetham, said.
The Swamiji, who works for popularisation of “Raagaragini Vidya”, an ancient musical tradition that is claimed to augment spiritual Sadhana and cure ailments, has set up the branches of his ashram in several countries.
The seer, who conducts worldwide tours and holds concerts believed to provide healing benefits, is also implementing welfare projects across the country.
Strongly condemning the terror attack in Pathankot today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that enemies of humanity who cannot see the nation succeed, had attempted to cause harm to the Indian Armed Forces. He appreciated the Armed Forces for successfully defeating the designs of the terrorists, and paid homage to the jawans who were martyred during the operation. He said he is proud of the jawans and the security forces. The Prime Minister said that the nation stood united against these enemies and therefore their evil designs would never succeed. The Prime Minister was speaking at a public meeting for the inauguration of the Centenary Celebrations of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji of Sri Suttur Math at Maharaja College ground in Mysuru.
The Prime Minister visited the Avadhoota Datta Peetham, where he met His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji. He visited the Datta Temple and was conferred the Peetham honours. Addressing the gathering there, the Prime Minister said that sages and saints in India do a lot of work for society which is not fully appreciated.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the Centenary Celebrations of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji of Sri Suttur Math, at Maharaja College Ground in Mysuru. He unveiled a foundation stone for a Knowledge Research Centre to mark the occasion. Addressing a large gathering, he said that Saint Basaveshwara had showed the path of social reform centuries ago. He recalled that he had the great fortune to unveil a statue of Shri Basaveshwara in London recently. The Prime Minister said that Indian society was unique because social reformers arose from it time and again, to reform society, and fight social evils. He said it was the social reform movements of the 18th and 19th century that laid the foundation for India’s successful freedom movement in the 20th century.

I found this blog today only. I also fear about Hindu religion’s existence. Even though BJP govt. comes into power, we are still fighting for existence. Lets hope better in future.

Great to see the leader of India visit the Place of Hindu importance. Under UPA govt, the PM were busy visiting churches and holding event for Muslims ignoring the birthplace of hindus.
Wish to see the PrimeMinisters of India in future visit such place regularly and take advice from the Sadhus and Sants of the Place to develop the country as done by Rajas and Maharajas in the Past. Jai Hind! Jai Hindu Rashtra!
