Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | Oct 5, 2018:: A 16-seer high-powered committee of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has said that the BJP led NDA government must issue an ordinance or pass a legislation immediately for building a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The committee warned the government that it would lose the polls if the temple is not built before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It also said that its volunteers would start construction of the temple if the government fails to act. The Supreme Court is set to hear the Ayodhya title suit from October 29.
A resolution (प्रस्ताब) passed at the meeting sought a bill for the construction of the Ram temple. “If the government does not give a deadline, agitation and revolt is the only option left,” the resolution said, asking the government to pass a bill in the winter session of Parliament or issue an ordinance for the temple. “Even if the bill fails because of lack of numbers, it will be a service as the enemies of Lord Ram will be clear to the country. If the temple cannot be built under Modi and Yogi, it will never be built,” the panel said.
The sants from different Hindu mutts and akharas said they will begin an agitation for the temple soon, meet governors of all states next month and hold week-long programmes for the Ram temple in every mutt and religious place associated with Hindus from December 18.
Paramatmandand Maharaj, one of the main speakers at the event, said the time was ripe for the BJP government to introduce a bill in Parliament for the construction of the Ram Temple. “When the Hindu awoke, the enemies of the Hindu started embracing Hinduism. That is the power of dharma,” he said.
Another speaker, Dr Ram Vilas Vedanti said that ‘kar sewa’ for the Ram temple would begin soon if the government did not introduce a law for the temple by December 6th. “If the central government did not bring a law to build a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya before December 6, then we will make the temple by ourselves,” said the Hindu religious leader and Ex BJP MP Dr.Ram Vilas Vedanti during the high-powered VHP meeting.
Vasudevnand Saraswati, one of the Shankaracharyas, said there is expectation from the government that it will introduce a bill to facilitate building of a Ram Temple only because the “BJP government is capable of doing it and others have always opposed it.”
Some Seers in high level VHP meeting expressed their high concern on the indefinite fasting of an Ayodhya Saint Swami Paramhans Das since 1st Oct on a demand to early construction of Ram Janmabhoomi Temple at Ayodhya.
The committee of sants that takes major decisions on the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas also held a meeting to chalk out a strategy for Hindu organisations on building a tempo for the Ram Mandir. A group of Seers and VHP functionaries headed by Ayodhya Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Ji Maharaj also met President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday evening for submitting a memorandum of demands (ज्ञापन).
VHP Working President Alok Kumar, Vice Presidents Champat Rai and Jiveshwar Mishra and Joint Secretary Dr Surendra Jain were present in the VHP delegation to Rashtrapati Bhawan along the venerated Saints viz. Jagadguru Sri Ramanadacharya Ji Maharaj, Sri Hansdevacharya Ji Maharaj, Mahamandaleshwar Bishokananda Ji Maharaj, Mahamandleshwar Paramananda Giri Ji Maharaj, Swami Chinmayanada Ji Maharaj (all from Haridwar, Uttarakhand); Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vishwesharananda Ji Maharaj (Mumbai); Agradevacharya Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj (Seekar, Rajasthan); Sri Rameshwardas Vaishnavi Ji Maharaj (Rishikesh, Uttrakhand) and Jug Purush Swami Paramatmananda Ji Maharaj (Rajkot, Gujarat).
While the panel praised the Modi government, it expressed disappointment with the BJP’s ‘silence’. “If they could do it for triple talaq, why not bring a bill for Ram Mandir too,” the sants said. They also alleged that the Supreme Court heard matters ranging from Section 377 to Sabarimala, but when it came to a conclusive decision on Ram Mandir, the court ‘did not take a decision’.
Alok Kumar, the Intl. working President of VHP told HENB, “The venerated saints in the VHP Highest body (Sant Ucchadhikar Samiti) expressed their serious concern on Judicial pendency and impediments for the solution aiming to start the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The saints are ready to wait for starting the construction of Ram temple till the last sun set of 2018. If the present Central Govt fails to pass any ordinance or legislation for Temple construction within 2018, the Sant Samaj (Seer Body) will frame its strong strategy to do the same through Dharma Samsad (Hindu Religious Parliament) in the Prayagraj Mahaha Kumbh during the period 31 January 2019 to 1 February 2019”.
RSS Chief (Sarsanghchalak) Dr Mohan Bhagwat too had called for the construction of the Ram temple without delay and said that it would end the ‘Hindu-Muslim rift’ permanently.
