Upananda Brahmachari | Haridwar | HENB | Dec 27, 2018:: On December 26, 2018, the anti-Hindu and Christianity influenced India Today TV aired a report which claimed that Dalits aren’t being allowed to enter many prominent Hindu temples, including Gorakhnath Temple at Gorakhpeeth in Gorakhpur, which is considered as the top seat of the Nath Sect in the world.
Most interestingly, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is the ‘mahant’ (chief pontiff) of Gorakhnath temple.
The hackneyed move of India Today TV is supposed to create a Hindu-Dalit divide in the BJP vote bank in Uttar Pradesh and fume the Dalit politics only to destroy the Hindu unity in the upcoming election scenario of 2019 when Indian electorates will franchise their voting rights to form 17th Lok Sabha (Parliament).
However, many Dalits in the Nationalist fervor took to Twitter to rubbish the report that they are not allowed inside Goraknath temple.
Abhinav Prakash, who identifies himself as a Dalit in his resume, said that he had been to Gorakhnath temple many a time and was not stopped even once. He also said he knows many Dalits who have been to the temple and weren’t stopped at all.
What nonsense? Have been there and know so many #Dalits who have gone to Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur!! https://t.co/ChjiDzEMwY

One of the Dalits in the video said he has been working inside the temple premises since 1964 and the narrative of Dalits not being allowed inside the temple is false.
I just spoke with @Gaurav737gkp who has sweet shop inside Gorakhnath Mandir. He is going to take interview of SC/ST people who have been ‘living and working’ inside temple premise since decades! High time we expose @rahulkanwal who says dalits are not allowed! @myogiadityanathhttps://t.co/mNOhOpFG0U

One more worker in the video claimed that even Muslims and Christians work and live inside the temple premises and there’s no discrimination whatsoever.

It is completely a fake news. Our Gorakhnath math is a place where people from all the religion, caste and culture are always welcomed. Media is playing dirty game.

So it is clear that India Today TV was trying to garner higher TRPs by airing a sensational video so designed by by its Anti-Hindu management to give a bad name to Hindus, Gorakhpur Guru Gorakhnath Temple authority and UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
However, Gorakhnath Temple authority has smashed the anti-Dalit allegation as the temple had already positioned Dalits at higher echelons of the institution for years. The Guru Gorakhnath temple has Yogi Kamal Nath, a Dalit, as its head priest (mukhya purohit). Pardeshi Nath Ram, a Dalit, is the in-charge of Gaushala. The temple’s kitchen (Bhandara) is also run by a Dalit. Not only the temple’s door is open for Dalits, but devotees of all religions are welcomed here without any prejudice as per philanthropic Hindu view.
The official website of Guru Gorakhnath Temple website at www.gorakhnathmandir.in+ categorically denounces the caste discrimination in the Hindu society and considered Dalits as inseparable, important and essential part of Hindu society+ as like as Kahstriya, Bhraman, Vaishya, Jain, Boudhha, Sikh, Arya Samaji or Sanatani.
Gorakhnath Temple Mahants had their legacy to strengthen Hindu Politics through Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha and Ram Janmabhoomi Liberation icon Mahant Avidyanath elected Gorakhpur MP in both ABHM and BJP ticket.
Mahant Avaidyanathan was elected MLA from Maniram Assembly segment five times – 1962, 1967, 1968 1974 and 1977. He was elected Lok Sabha member from Gorakhpur as an Independent candidate in 1970 and won again in 1989 as candidate of Hindu Mahasabha. He was elected MP from the same seat in 1991 and 1996 as Bharatiya Janata Party nominee.
Mahant Avaidyanathan’s Guru Mahant Digvijaynath activated Hindu politics in then United Provinces thru the revival of Hindu Mahasabha after quiting from Congress for its cooperation with British and Muslim appeasement.
It is told that Mahant Digvijaynath incited Hindus to kill Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in a public meeting on 27 January 1948, three days before the actual assassination. He was subsequently arrested, along with Professor Ram Singh and V. G. Deshpande, but released after 9 months.
Soon after his release from prison, Digvijay Nath started making plans to revive the Hindu Mahasabha, which had invited the public’s revulsion for its role in the assassination of Gandhi. The capture of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was a key plank of his plan.
The UP CM and the present pontiff Of Gorakhnath Temple. Mahant Adityanath carried forward the Hindutva legacy of his Gurus (mentors) who was elected as Member of Parliament from Gorakhpur for five consecutive terms in 1998, 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014 elections.
The Mahants of Gorakhpeeth had/has their legacy to run Hindutva movement of Ayodhya Ram Temple, Cow slaughter ban and social upliftment of Dalits and backward classes.
The India Today TV’s allegation of being anti-Dalit by Gorakhpeet has no base, rather the perpetrated report was aired against Gorakhnath Temple was a part of big conspiracy to make a Hindu-Dalit divide in Hindutva movement so far.
