Swaminatha Dasa | HENB | Haridwar | June 21, 2019:: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has decided to release off the pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, as it is not ready to confront with BJP seeing its huge win in Lok Sabha poll.
The right-wing organisation announced its intentions after a two-day Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal meet in Haridwar at Akhand Param Dham complex from June 19-20. In the meet, the VHP passed a soft resolution pursuing for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya in a very casual manner that will be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
However, this time the VHP’s appeal was not limited to just the government, the body also made an appeal to Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi to fast track the proceedings in the Ram Mandir case that is currently being heard by the Supreme Court.
“The Sant Fraternity of the country through this resolution calls upon the Chief Justice of India to make a decision by completing the hearing in the matter at the earliest possible,” read the VHP resolution.
The VHP in its resolution claimed that the matter was “not even in its [judiciary’s] priority list”.
Addressing a press conference, a saint from Jabalpur said, “the Hindu community has been resolute about the temple since 1528 and since 1984, the VHP under the guidance of the respected saints, has been constantly struggling for the same. Therefore, any further delay in this holy national work is unjustified.”
Recalling the BJP’s 1989 Palampur resolution where it had at a meeting in Himachal Pradesh’s Palampur adopted a resolution to build a temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, the VHP said that the thumping majority for the Modi government in 2019 had only heightened people’s expectation.
The VHP claimed that “anti-Ram forces” are creating roadblocks in the “judicial process” which should be removed by the government. But, the Haridwar meet of VHP from June 19-20 had no sign to reflect any mood to fight for Ayodhya Ram Temple as the organization earlier reflected the same time to time during the years before 1992 upto 2014.
“The saints of the country appeal to the government to remove all the obstacles in the path so that the Grand Temple in Ayodhya be built soon according to the wishes of crores of Hindus,” said a saint with a very casual and mechanical approach.
In the VHP meet, several Hindu seers renewed the demand for building a Ram temple in Ayodhya and abolishing Article 370 of the Constitution, Rehabilitation of Kashmir Pandits in the valley, Introduction of population Policy for all etc…. saying it is the time for Modi government to honour people’s mandate to it.
The seers attending the meeting expressed its high satisfaction on the return of PM Modi through the Lok Sabha poll verdict.
