Priya Das | HENB | Patuakhali  | Oct 5, 2020:: At least nine idols of Hindu goddess Durga have been vandalized at a village temple in Patuakhali’s Baufal upazila, where the idols were being made for ensuing Durga puja festival.

A gang of suspected criminals belonging to Jihadi groups vandalized the idols at the temple in Mominpur village last night, our Patuakhali correspondent reports. The heads of Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati and Kartik were broken along with their carriers. The idol making was almost completed but the perpetrators wanted a destruction of idols to stop the Puja anyway.

The Durga Puja has been being continued for a long time in the house of  Haralal Howlader in Mominpur village of Keshabpur Union.

The Jihadi forces have been threatening the minority Hindus in Islamic Bangladesh to stop Durga Puja in public places as it violets the norms of Islam. Durga Puja is the greatest religious and social festival of Bengali Hindus. Once more than 50000 Durgapuja was held in Bangladesh, but the count of which now goes down around 25000 or less due to oppression on Hindus, violating the religious rights of minorities.

Senior officials including Baufal Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zakir Hossain and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baufal police station Mostafizur Rahman visited the spot around noon today.

Noni Gopal Das, president of the puja mandap committee, said locals saw the idols (murti) and its carriers (vahan) including Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati goddesses and God Kartik were damaged inside the temple in the morning.

While inspecting the temple, UNO Zakir Hossain said, “Necessary steps will be taken in this regard.”

OC Mostafizur said, “We have asked the Puja Mandap Committee to file a written complaint in this connection. If they file a complaint, legal action will be taken against the culprits and also we can ensure security of the puja mandap.”

As per latest report the affected Durga Puja mandap committee has submitted a written complaint to police for the incident, but nobody arrested so far.

Hindu Dental Students shocked for exam dates during Durga Puja.

University of Dhaka’s Medicine Faculty has fixed the professional examination schedule for the Dental  Students. The exam schedule clearly overlaps with Durga Puja. This is clearly intentional to put hurdles to observe Durga Puja by the Dental students.  They did not publish the official routine to prevent any movement against this. But, a signed copy of the dean in respective faculty for the shocking schedule was flashed out in social media that caused a protest of the minority Hindu students in many quarters.

As per schedule of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), the exams of Dental medicine, G Surgery and  Oral pathology & Periodontology have been fixed on and from Oct 22 to Oct 26 which are the major dates of Durgapuja being Maha-Sasthi to Vijaya Dashami.

This obviously reflects the Bangladesh Education systems in any level that try to infringe the religious rights of Bangladesh minority people, majority of which are rapidly decreasing Hindus.

The straight cases for minority persecution in Islamic Bangladesh are increasing day by day as Islamic countries don’t bother for religious rights of non-Muslims in fact.

   Mark my words: After Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh will become the next Pakistan.

   That’s why CAA was so necessary: if anything, further measures should also be adopted to encourage Bangladeshi Hindus (and other non-Muslims) to migrate to India – and to encourage Muslims inside India to leave.
