Hindu outfits protest against the release of Akshay Kumar’s film ‘OMG 2’ in Agra.

Protest against OMG2

CBFC turned into the epicenter for hurting Hindus in Modi Raj.

Slap Akshay Kumar and get Rs 10 lakh: Hindutva outfit over OMG 2 ‘hurting’ Hindu sentiments.

OMG 2Upendra Bharti | HENB | Agra | Aug 12, 2023:: The Antarrsahtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP) and the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal (RBD), on Thursday, said that it would give Rs 10 lakh to anyone who slapped Akshay Kumar or blackened his face as the Hindu outfit staged a protest against the actor’s latest release ‘OMG 2’.

A member of the AntarRashtriya Hindu Parishad, Govind Parashar, had made the statement.

The organizations (AHP and RBD) were formed by Dr Pravin Togadia in 2018 after he resigned from Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) after facing an inner conflict in the organization.

Protests erupted in Agra over the release of the film, with Rashtriya Bajrang Dal workers gathering outside Shree Talkies and demanding the immediate halt of the movie’s screening.

Led by Raunak Thakur, Vice President of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal’s Braj Prant, the protesters raised slogans against the film outside the cinema hall.

The local police were present at the scene to maintain order.

Film insults lord shiva – Govind Parashar

The AHP president of Brij Prant, Govind Parashar said that the film had insulted Lord Shiva in some scenes.

In the film, Akshay Kumar has been described as the messenger of Bholenath. He stands with his shoes on, buys kachoris, and takes a bath in the dirty water of the pond. This tarnishes the image of God, said Govind Parashar.

The organization demanded that the censor board and the central government should ban the film. If this does not happen, we will continue our fierce protest, he warned.

OMG 2 confronts protest from many quarters

Before the film hit the screens, spiritual leader Sadhvi Ritambhara, who is associated with various Hindu organizations, expressed her concerns about the film from her ashram in Vrindavan.

She said that ‘OMG 2’ and similar Bollywood movies were a consequence of the “casual attitude towards Hinduism.”

“It has happened in the past also that Hindu deities have been insulted in films. We will not tolerate any kind of playing with the Hindu faith. If Bollywood continues to do this, Hindus will protest against it on the roads. Devotion to Lord Shiva is not a joke,” she said.

Similarly, a social activist Sameer said that films like these, which “ignite religious sentiments in society”, must not be granted censor certificates.

Akshay Kumar’s film ‘OMG 2’ released in theatres on Friday. The film is the sequel to Kumar and Paresh Rawal’s 2012 film ‘OMG – Oh My God.’ Other than Akshay, the film also features Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam.

The role of Film Censor Board

The role of the Film Censor Board, i.e. Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) under the chairmanship of Prasoon Joshi has created several controversies arising out of hurting Hindu sentiments in Modi Raj.

From ‘Pathan’ to ‘Adipurush’, in recent, several movies went against Hindu sentiments as Censor Board had failed to curtail the anti-Hindu materials from the films anyway.  Moreover, the CBFC betrayed the Hindus in the name of Review or Re-sensor the Films in controversy.

OMG 2 is another revolutionary attack on Hindu sentiment with the indulgence of CBFC under the control of Modi Govt.

CBFC has been turned as the epicenter for hurting Hindu Sentiments in Modi Raj.

Earlier, many Hindu organisations and Hindu saints demanded the removal of Prasoon Joshi from the Chairmanship of CBFC.
